Great location but website photos of rooms are deceptive. Supposedly the rooms have been renovated but all they did was remove the old carpet and put in flooring. The walls are dirty and scuffed as well as the baseboards and box springs cover was filthy. We’ve stayed here two years ago and it was just ok. This time it was unacceptable. We complained to two managers and they said there is nothing they can do.
MOLD! Beware! Dishonest management! Worker declined taking call when Expedia tried to call them. We watched in as we sat in the lobby. We got our keys and our floor was flooded and mold visibly in the wall! We refused the room due to health hazard and they would not refund the money. I’d rate this a ZERO!
Rooms not near what is shown on their website. Although the staff is helpful and friendly….the owner needs to do some major upgrades especially the room air conditioning system. After being on your feet -in the heat- it would be nice to sleep in a cool room without the exterior lights blinding you throughout the night ….will not book there again.
Thank you to LA Avenida. Great location, clean rooms, easy access to beach and shops. Moses was extremely helpful and accomidating, he allowed us to park on the other and use towels, while waiting for the room! We will definitely come back!!
RUN, don’t walk away! We were stuck in a tiny room that is not shown on their website because we booked through Expedia. This tiny room type is also not shown on Expedia’s website. Management claimed that the hotel was completely booked, and that everyone else in the hotel booked directly through them and not through a third party website. They continued to tell me that each person chose their room number in advance, so we could not be moved to another room (since we booked through a third party and didn’t choose our room number ahead of time). Speaking to the front desk was like speaking to a child who you could clearly tell was lying. I was determined to not let this tiny room ruin my trip, but the trouble didn’t stop at there. The walls are paper thin, our feet and socks were stained black from the dirty floors (which were supposedly mopped multiple times), and we were woken up in the middle of the night because of a leak and asked not to flush our toilet because there was water leaking downstairs. If you’re looking at this review, you’re probably considering a vacation for you and your family. Do not ruin your trip by booking a small, old and dingy room at this hotel. Spend a few extra dollars and book somewhere else.…
We had to cancel due to Covid. They said they did not care if we attended while we were sick with Covid. I explained that we could not get on an airplane if sick. They didn't care and said they could not refund or provide us another date for our stay. $200+ out of pocket. The staff said the owners don't care if they get repeat customers because they have a lot of first time stays. I encourage you to stay somewhere else. We certainly will.
We loved this little Inn. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and up to date. The location can't be beat. It's literally across the street from the Hotel Del and right next to restaurants and shops. Vons is within walking distance too. They loaned us beach towels and beach toys. We would stay here if we wanted to stay in Coronado again.
If you want to wake up to your bathroom collapsing on you in the middle of the night then by all means, go for it! At 10:30 PM, My 89 year old grandmother, uncle, and aunt were staying in Room 105 and were woken up in the middle of the night from the bathroom ceiling COMPLETELY collapsing and exposing black mold. We immediately ran to tell the front desk clerk [whose hands were obviously tied] who then called her manager, Moses, to ask for assistance. His response was to “shut the door and he would come in the morning to comp us for the room that night.” All other rooms were booked so we were unable to move, leaving my family bathroom-less and exposed to BLACK MOLD seeping through the cracks of the door. There was NO sense or urgency. He didn’t try and bother coming down to assist. My husband and I were staying in another room so we decided to drive 1.5 hours home so that my family could stay in our room, away from the mold. The next day, Moses came and in the end has comped us for the weekend in room 105. However, I have demanded to speak with the owners who have YET to reach out and apologize. Moses has claimed he attempted to call us back “20 times and left us a voicemail” but our phones say absolutely nothing. A mere apology from the OWNERS (who I don’t even know their names) would’ve sufficed, but the lack of professionalism, urgency, and care for this situation is disappointing, unacceptable, and needs to be taken seriously. I was NOT going to leave my family, especially my 89 year-old grandma to sleep overnight in a room exposed with black mold! Yet, Moses and the owners had no urgency to assist. They should’ve came down and booked them a night somewhere else to stay versus leaving us to fend and solve it for ourselves. If we lived out of state or further away, I don’t know what we would’ve done. DO NOT STAY HERE! You will run the risk of probably getting sick because who knows what other building, safety, and health regulations they fail to follow. I wish I was making or exaggerating some of this. We really tried to give the manager and owners a chance to make things right, but in the end, the lack of professionalism has us never returning and HOPEFULLY you decide not to stay here as well. We look forward to sharing this information with the department of public health.…
This hotel has so much potential due to location and parking but the sheets and shower curtain were stained and nasty. I didn’t expect fancy but I did expect clean. They blamed it on the linen service they use but their management was not willing to discount or anything for the issues. The young lady at the front desk was very kind but the managers said they had no authority to do anything. If you decide to stay here you might want to take your own sheets and cleaning supplies!
My husband, sister and I checked in with no problem although we paid $25 extra to have our room available earlier. The website advertises that the rooms are “updated”. If that’s the case then I cannot imagine what terrible condition the rooms were in before. Although the floors look new that’s where the updating ended. Everything else is old and overused. Even the sheets have stains and are theeadbare along with the blankets neons the cheap foam things that have holes. Add to it there’s a layer of dust on everything. The pool has a layer of leave on the bottom so I’m not sure how clean I should think the water is. The location is great and the rates are low. It’s all about the location at LaAvenida.
