The Pros: Great location, very clean, and friendly staff. The Cons: Paid for a queen bed and got a double (room 11) and very, very noisy — combined, those made for a very bad night’s sleep. Also, when they say en-suite shower, it is literally en-suite (i.e., just a shower curtain separating the shower from the bed). Street parking is free and plentiful.
Location is everything: Not only at the Cherokee Lodge but here you can walk a block to the legendary Claytons Coffee Shop and pick up your breakfast as if it were just downstairs. You're so close you'll be there way before the crowds set in. The Cherokee Lodge has all the charm of those typical Coronado Colonials you have always dreamed of being able to spend the night in. The enchanting garden, patio and courtyard, lush with lemon trees, qumquats and flowers, invite you to linger in the magnificent Southern California evenings. The rooms are furnished in authentic, beautifully restored and maintained antiques but with comfortable, unpretentious linen. A quiet oasis of calm for the night just a stone's throw from busy Orange Avenue, the Hotel del Coronado with its swanky, hallowed chic and the delightful Coronado Beach. Highly recommended for your stay in San Diego and especially on Coronado.…
We drove from Arizona for a few days away for our anniversary. First time visitors to Coronado. It is a lovely, cozy, charming little lodge and we really enjoyed our room. Great easy access to so much around town, easy walking to restaurants and beach.
Simple, clean, charming room with antique furniture, air conditioning a friendly, helpful staff, and the best location. We brought our bikes to ride around the bike/ pedestrian friendly island. Easy walk to the beach. Hope to return and stay again!
Location was very convenient to walking to food and shopping. The outside of the building needs attention. Inside had authentic antic furnishing. Wonderful old furniture. The bathroom shower was very small.
