Despite having booked this vacation in January, we were given a room at the bottom floor of the Ocean Tower that overlooked a fence and smelled of mold. The refrigerator made a high pitched noise but was replaced about 8 hours after I made a call. This is not The Montage at Laguna Beach or The Ritz. You will carry...

I live in Malibu so I'm familiar with tourist pricing, but this place is a joke. Meals cost double what they should, and taste like hospital food. I'm talking $6 ice teas and sodas, minor dishes starting at $25, shrimp tacos with precisely ONE shrimp in a pile of mush, etc. How's the sleeping? Glad you asked. Fire alarm went...

A good friend and I decided to go spend the day at the spa of the Hotel Del. Friends of ours were staying there for the long weekend. There were issues with the spa ( non functioning) and we were made aware of the problem only when we checked in. A bad start. The Spa Attendant was great and handled...

Waited my whole life to stay at the Coronado. I could not have been more disappointed when we were directed to "the tower" which is a long, hot, walk through a parking lot and not a part of the hotel but an old Super 8/Howard Johnson the Coronado must have bought.  When I called to request a room change, the...

A wonderful vacation spot for a family of all ages. Great access to the beach, nice pool and friendly staff. Stayed in the ocean rooms which were great but wanted the experience of staying in the main building. Love the old Victorian building and history. Food was pricey to purchase on-site, but great restaurant options within a ten minute walk...

This is one of the truly GREAT hotels in America. It's expensive, but you will remember your stay for many years and every time you meet someone else who stayed there you will have an instant connection. I wouldn't recommend eating in the hotel, because within a short walk are MANY excellent restaurants with charming settings. For example, if you...

What a beautiful hotel with so much history! I have lived in San Diego for my whole life (28 years) and never been into the Hotel Del Coronado until this weekend. Our first time back in more than 25 years and the old girl did not disappoint. The service, the ambience, the locations, everything was just as fantastic as we had remembered. The Prince of Wales grill was revamped into a newer, more hip restaurant, but we liked it just as well.

Hotel Del Coronado is a one of a kind resort. It has the original building which was built 1888. It is so unique! Be sure you walk the entire hotel, inside and out and take it's original elevator.
