Located in Coronado, CA, just across the San Diego/Coronado Bay Bridge from downtown San Diego. Crown City Inn is your affordable choice to stay close to the beach. We have a swimming pool, beach cruiser bicycles, and surf/boogie boards to borrow to play in the water. All rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi internet access. On-site Crown Bistro is a favorite with the locals and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and room service daily. Kids and pets are welcome. Both receive a goody bag at check-in. Don't miss our afternoon "tea" with homemade almond shortbread, oatmeal-cranberry cookies, thumbprint cookies and brownies; and coffee and iced tea bar.

I was REALLY shocked with this hotel for the value compared to the price. Although you can tell the building is old and the walls are thin, the owners have done a really good job at upkeep and renovation to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The beds were comfortable and the showers were nice. They include a microwave and large mini-fridge. They also include free bike rentals during the day, beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys. And the heated pool was open, even during the coronavirus time, which made me VERY happy. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and made me feel at home even before I checked in when I called with questions. The location is great, and is less than a mile from every beach on the island, as well as the ferry and the bridge. It was so safe and comfortable that most of the hotel guests kept their doors open all day (at a motel!). They did have a restaurant, but I did not try it, as they did not allow dine-in even though it was officially legally allowed, so we went and supported restaurants willing to give full-service. The hotel was very CLEAN as well. I'd definitely recommend Crown City Inn for anyone going to Coronado Island, or even if you are going downtown San Diego (less than 10 minutes away).

I have stayed at Crown City for about 15yrs. I have never tired of it. The staff is incredible, I consider Marcia a friend. I used to take my dog Illyanne monthly along. The dog beach is one of my favorite places in the world. The hotel is perfectly situated to everything.

I had an AMAZING stay at the Crown City Inn with my Grandma this past February and would definitely recommend a visit. We have always returned to the Crown City Inn with each annual visit and each year we arrive with a very friendly welcome from the staff. It is always a joy to see María, Rob, Heath, and Melissa around the hotel. The quad-like space in the center of the hotel and the pool make an awesome space for relaxation or visiting with other residents. Additionally, the hotel is just a couple minute walk from anything in Coronado and on our way back to the hotel each evening we would always make sure to grab a cookie or tea served in the hotel lobby :) I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and CANNOT wait to go back soon!

My family of four stayed 5 nights, first time at this hotel/inn, including 2 teens. We have been to Coronado many times, it's one of our favorite quick getaways even though we live near Denver. This time we stayed here because the places near the Del have become too expensive. We are glad we did because now this is our favorite. My whole family absolutely loves this place. We had a very clean(very friendly service staff!) 2 bed, room with microwave and fridge. They also gave us a super electric blow-up mattress at no extra charge. It had a small bathroom with a nice good sized shower. We pack light when we travel so the common laundry area is much appreciated. Front office is friendly and helpful. Cookies in the afternoon; computer/ printer there, water/tea and coffee, advice, etc. It adjoins their wonderful Bistro- the best breakfasts on the 'island'. But dinner and lunch are very good as well. It's tiny and romantic with seating out or in. Lots of amenities: we love the free bikes which we used daily. They're single speed, pedal break with cute names. They look a bit worn but ride fine. They provide helmets and locks. We rode all over Coronado: to the beach( they also provide beach umbrellas, boogie boards, chairs, too), gelato/café shop, ferry to seaport village( very close take your bike along), The Del, lots of shops, restaurants, parks, etc. The pool is heated!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! They have a gift pack for the kids. Dogs are welcomed. There's a few parking spots in the courtyard. We parked in back and simply walked through. There are lots of tennis courts behind there. You can also park on the main street. The beach takes about 20 minutes to walk to. The ferry area has shops and restaurants and is a little closer. A Vons grocery plus a pharmacy are a short distance away on foot. As well as a natural food store the opposite way. Absolutely pretty vintage movie theatre close by. You can buy concessions while walking by, e.g., popcorn. We saw "Emma" there plus they play oldies on Wednesday. We always go the Lambs Theatre for live performances. And Fuzziwig's Candy shop next to Lamb's. Lots of restaurants, shops, and you can walk everywhere or bike or drive. Meters aren't expensive or park off the main street, Orange, for free. I could go and on about what to do in Coronado, let alone San Diego, and we always jaunt up to Disney for day, a little less than 2 hours away. Go early so you can get in to see Rise of the Resistance. Crown City Inn has a kind of small community feel to it. Well, like an inn. It is quaint, amiable, peaceful and totally service oriented.
