Located in Coronado, CA, just across the San Diego/Coronado Bay Bridge from downtown San Diego. Crown City Inn is your affordable choice to stay close to the beach. We have a swimming pool, beach cruiser bicycles, and surf/boogie boards to borrow to play in the water. All rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi internet access. On-site Crown Bistro is a favorite with the locals and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and room service daily. Kids and pets are welcome. Both receive a goody bag at check-in. Don't miss our afternoon "tea" with homemade almond shortbread, oatmeal-cranberry cookies, thumbprint cookies and brownies; and coffee and iced tea bar.

The Crown City has many strengths and some issues during your stay. The rooms are dated but clean since the staff is top shelf. Not the front counter, those folks are basically no help so don't expect advice or help. But the locations is perfect and their little restaurant out front is better than average. However go down the street either direction for better options. The cost is reasonable and its really nice and quiet for the most part. Hidden secret, if you have any needs they will reserve a parking spot inside the court. But there are spots out on the street and in the back ally and you don't pay for them. I would definitely stay here again so the only black spots i have shared in this review.

We stayed at the Crown City Inn for over 2 weeks and would happily stay there again. Indeed, we did not want to leave and come home to reality. Not only does it have a splendid bistro , it has a small heated pool (which our 3 grandchildren loved), washers and dryers and bicycles for guests, excellent service and a great atmosphere. Linda and Keith on the front desk made the visit feel like home. Nothing was too much trouble for them- always helpful and, even more importantly, cheerful. When our grandchildren visited, they were given bags with coloring books and swim goggles, etc. We had a room on the 1st floor with a kitchen, queen size bed and a pulldown couch and chair in a seating area. Everything was kept clean by delightful and attentive staff. The hotel was voted "Best Boutique" and "Best Overall Value in Coronado" and I can see why. One thing I have to mention is the price - super reasonable for a rather expensive city. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

Wow so glad we found this little gem..Lovely small hotel with a pool. Our room was perfect very clean, bathroom shower was a nice tile with large glass doors that were squeaky clean. Carpet very nice and clean. Beautiful dark wood entrance door to room. It has a court yard with parking. Staff was great and very helpful with question about the area. It has a small café with great food. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If ever in the area we will definitely stay here again.

So glad to have found this little gem! My husband and I took our dog along for a quick weekend getaway and the whole staff made us feel so welcome! From the second I checked in, I didn’t want to leave. They gave us a little bag with dog treats and a toy which was such a special touch. We loved the location - many restaurants close by and I believe the Del was about 8 blocks away. The property itself was small and quaint but had ample parking. The room was larger than we had expected - there’s definitely a certain charm and personality about this property that we just loved. Immediately after arriving home we booked another weekend here because we just couldn’t wait to go back!

Stayed here less than month ago and experience was day/night. This stay was not a good one starting with the rate that owner asked me how much our per diem rate was and adjusted room rate accordingly (last month $99, this stay $154, plus 10% tax). No frills and regard for customers is questionable. You can email me for details, but they allow a for profit restaurant to empty the only ice machine on premises, are aware, and give a half hearted apology about it. Don't stay in Rooms 112 or 114, right across from housekeeper's laundry facility and your room access will be limited and noisy. The Bistro next door had a good dinner the night I ate there, but they hype the brunch but good luck getting in there without a 30-45 min wait. I would go to Imperial Beach for a more economical stay with better amenities and food options. The Burger Lounge they promote charges $11 for delivery, insane.

Hello, we're very sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We work hard to make sure all of our guests are happy and we're sorry to hear we missed the mark with your stay. Our daily room rates are subject to change. Since everyone on a government or military per diem has a different rate, we do ask guests to ensure they receive the proper rate. Our ice machine is shared with the Bistro on site, as it is part of our establishment. It is rare that we run out of ice, but if we are running low, we will buy extra ice to keep up. We will speak to our staff about being more on top of monitoring the ice as well as being quieter near the laundry facility. Unfortunately, while we can recommend a nearby restaurant for their food, we cannot control their delivery charges. We always recommend guests bring any issues they experience to the attention of the front desk during their stay so we can address and fix them immediately. We apologize and hope you'll give us another chance in the future!
