Awesome customer service! Room was perfect for three of us. The whole experience was so relaxing- courtyard was great as well as Miquel’s! We are 3 “ mature” woman traveling alone and felt more than safe in this area!Would love to come back to your hotel!
What a wonderful hotel with such friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is charming, we loved how it had been decorated, from the lobby, to the pool and the rooms. The staff, especially Matt on reception, were extremely welcoming and helpful to our family on our stay. They answered every query with a smile. They helped me contact my bank when I had a problem there. They went out of their way to help us a few times. Our rooms were big and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and they put us our rooms next to each other, even managing to get us connecting rooms which was an added bonus we didn't know we would have. We ate on site at the restaurant which was great. (Ask staff about this in advance as the restaurant is very popular!) The location is amazing, right near a Trolley Tour stop (we recommend doing this if you are touring San Diego!) which was so convenient and opposite the beach and the Coronado Hotel to walk over and sight see. Other amenities to mention, there was a mini kitchen, fridge, coffee machine, a safe, a cute swimming pool which my son loved. We used the parking which was round the corner. It was quite pricey but we found a lot of the parking in California's premium destinations, especially near beaches, to be this way. It was Coronado Island so we expected a cost. And the hotel were helpful about it, just speak to them on arrival. They will help you and advise what's best for your family. And you can pull up right outside to unload your suitcases and they'll take them to your room. It really was only round the corner. Having stayed in several hotels in California on our trip, El Cordova came up as the favourite among our family. We came all the way from the UK and it was part of a 15 night trip to California, exploring LA and SanDiego. We loved San Diego and Coronado Island, what a beautiful place to visit. Can't wait to go back one day. Tip: There are some lovely souvenir shops not far from the hotel but if you want food for the kitchen/breakfast, it might be worth stopping at a supermarket on the way in, as the nearest large supermarket seemed to be a Vons and was quite a long walk away. I think there might be a smaller shop closer by but my husband and son took the longer walk to Vons each day as my son is hyperactive. it was too far for me though!…
This is the cutest spot! I really appreciated Benny who helped checked us in. He was pleasant, funny, helpful and professional. He even assisted in getting us into our room a bit early when we showed up before regular check-in time. The room was clean and spacious with the ability to temperature regulate the living room and bedroom areas separately. Just a short walk to the beach, and really to anywhere we needed or wanted to be. They even provide beach chairs and umbrellas. We spent more than one evening sitting in the courtyard by the fire pit. Very reasonable pricing. I would definitely recommend this spot and will stay there again if back in Coronado.
Coronado Island is a world all its own. It is clean, safe and friendly. The El Cordova is steeped in the history of the island and a unique experience is to be had by staying here. The rooms are spacious, cozy and quiet.
Absolutely love this hotel. We got the one bedroom suite. So cute and very clean. Kitchen and bathroom stocked with everything. Amanda at the front was great. So close to all the restaurants and shops. Across the street from the hotel del and 2 minute walk to the beach. I highly recommend.
Great old style rooms, right across from hotel del and the beach. Awesome restaurants close by and the sea air!! What’s not to like. Stayed here over 20 times in the last 3 years. Seafood at the brigantine and breakfast at parakeet or Henry’s. Afternoon beer at McP’s.
The staff at this hotel is what sets this place apart. The people here are exceptionally friendly and accomodating. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and spacious. The location is fantastic and it is a short walk to many restaurants and the beach. The pool and courtyard are a nice oasis as well.
El Cordova is a quiet, clean, and friendly hotel with access to the beach and downtown Coronado. Very economical, but first-class accommodations. Staff was very friendly and attentive during our stay, with periodic texts asking if we needed anything. Highly recommend El Cordova!
Really loved this small hotel on Coronado. The location is central to everything you’d go to Coronado for, restaurants, shopping, the beach, etc. it’s more or less across the street from the Del. The hotel has some beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and decor. Our room had a smal refrigerator, coffee maker, nice towels and robes available. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only issue is lack of parking on site. But they do have spaces in a garage about a block away, it wasn’t much of a big deal.
We stayed at the El Cordova Hotel in September last year. We were so impressed with the staff going over and above that we decided to go again this year and next! Great location! Highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed!
