Nice hotel that is dated by architect design but not by quality. The rooms a vastly different depending on the view. The place is on the pricey side but you’re right on the water (bay) with amazing views. The rooms are well equipped, modern, and clean. Staff were helpful but not necessarily attentive to guests needs. Awesome pool and restaurant area within hotel. Great water walkway right off hotel with many restaurants and little shops near by

I travel a lot and this hotel is Terrible! Hotel rooms are old and outdated. It is only 3 floors. The staff is not helpful, service very poor. The place is dirty and smells. And the prices are $500 per night - this is not a luxury hotel. Do not stay here. only one restaurant - we sat outside for dinner and after ordering waiter asked us to move bec they were out of gas for the outdoor heaters! Apparently instead of replacing the gas canisters for their outdoor heaters, they inconvenience the guests by asking them to move ! Room was very old and dated and carpet smelled so bad couldn’t stay in the room. Common areas dirty and dated! I have never stayed at such a poor hotel. They do not have queen beds. Do Not waste your time going to this hotel. It is terrible and Marriot should knock it down and rebuild or close it.

Response from Jonathan Litvack, General Manager at Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa

We apologize for falling short of expectations and as a teachable moment, have shared your feedback with the leadership team. Though I am sorry you may elect not to return, please trust that your experience in Albaca was isolated and not typical of what we hear. We would never expect nor ask guests to be inconvenienced by moving from their selected table. That said, we have reviewed the process and protocol with the staff to ensure this does not occur in the future. In the meantime, we apologize for the inconvenience as well as your perception that our guestrooms are "old and outdated." Thank you for taking the time to provide your insightful feedback as we look for ways in which to improve.

It is hard to plan a large conference in March at a better location than San Diego. The Coronado Marriott is an easy drive from the airport and the hotel has reasonably priced self parking for local attendees. The second floor ballroom can lost large conferences, separate breakout rooms are available on the first and second floors. The Marriott did a fine job with catered meals. I was very satisfied with the meeting facilities. The resort is somewhat dated. My room was fairly spacious and had two queen beds, a small fold out sofa, and a two person table with chairs. The bath was clean and good sized with a tub and shower. The hot water seemed to be a bit finicky, it took a while to heat up then there is a long delay from adjustment of the knob to the change in water temperature. The 2 level fitness center is well equipped, located next to the lap pool. The main resort pool is good sized and a large patio overlooks. The restaurant/bar provides refreshments day and night. There also is a small 24 hour pantry next to the front desk for snacks. The resort is located on the water, a small beach area is located in the next door park but the main Coronado beaches are a 2.5 mile walk down the Bayshore Bike trail which is a superb trail to run on. Walking away from the park on the Bayshore Bike trial, a little village with Pizza, Deli, a bistro and Il Fornio (the Italian food chain) can found about a 1/4 mile away. A Smart and Final grocery store is a 1\3 mile away from the water, as our some other eateries. In short, the Coronado Marriott is an ideal conference hotel. But without a beach, and with an older physical plant, it isn’t a top notch resort for leisure travels expecting a premium experience.

This property does not have a beach. However, it has pools and walkable access to a lot of shopping and restaurants. The staff was very nice. We had a great 2nd story room facing SD. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and large. The hotel was very peaceful and had the vibe of a hotel in Hawaii with palm trees courtyard (indoor/outdoor walkway).

Beautiful location on the Bay with a view of the San Diego Skyline lights at night. Adjacent to a bayside Coronado bike/walking path. The grounds and interior courtyards are lovely and there are many peek a boo vistas even if you don't have a waterfront room. The balconies are spacious. Ours overlooked the Fitness center with tennis, pickle ball courts and bicycle rentals across the drive, but also a great view of the Coronado Bridge. There are several ponds with a resident flamingo population and gorgeous succulent plantings. It's possible to walk to Orange Avenue and several eateries at the nearby Ferry Landing, but in summer the free Coronado shuttle bus stops frequently across from the entrance drive, and you can get anywhere in the area on it, including the beaches on the west side of the island. It's also easy to get Lyft and Uber rides. For breakfast, some guests opt for the small Starbucks-serving cafe in the main lobby area. Keep in mind that it closes early. We found the restaurant's outside tables a good choice for lunch or dinner. Most of the time there was plenty of seating around the pool, but for busier occasions or a group gathering it helps to rent a private cabana as a home base.

This hotel has nice views of San Diego and the bay. There is a nice boardwalk to walk on out the back of the property. The large beaches are on the other side of the island but perhaps in walking distance from the hotel.

It was our first wedding anniversary we live in San Diego and decided to stay here. We are 64 and wanted a memorable night. We were going to take a bath and started running the water and the water filling the tub was rust brown. I took a picture of it and we went to the lobby where I asked for the night manager. I told him what happened and he told me the staff cleaning the room were supposed to run the water to clean the pipes out. He never asked wich room we were in. We told him it was our anniversary but it didn’t seem to matter. We got a ice cream on the house and that was it.

The views of San Diego and the Coronado Bridge are beautiful. We had a nice room facing the bay and enjoyed watching the tug boats escorting the cruise and military ships in and out of the harbor. The beds were very comfortable . The location is convenient to shopping on Orange Avenue, some good restaurants with in a 5-10 minute walk or a short drive. The hotel food was about a 3 star. We went to the Historical Hotel Del Coronado for sunset and cocktail, then had dinner at small French Restaurant off Orange Avenue. We will return again.
