We stayed at this resort for 7 days at the end of August, 2021. As with the entire hospitality business, it is obvious that the recent pandemic has left a mark (no room service, for example.) That said, it is a pristine property, and has managed to assemble a team of hard-working, personable staff members who work seamlessly together to provide an excellent experience for their guests. We ate at least ten meals — breakfasts, lunches, and dinners — out on the beautiful patio restaurant overlooking the Coronado Bay Bridge and the San Diego skyline. Tables are well-spaced, service was quick and efficient, and the food was excellent. (Lunch is take-out only, but guests are allowed to pick up their orders at the bar and eat them at the patio tables.) We had a suite which was well worth the price for the view alone. It was large and light-filled and housekeeping, while by request only, was provided immediately. The hotel boasts three swimming pools and an excellent fitness center and spa — which just re-opened. We didn’t use it on this trip. After years of staying at this property's older competitor on the other side of the island, this was a refreshing change and has earned our future business.

My family and I stayed back in June and had a wonderful stay. Had a couple milestones and management recognized with a status upgrade part of the time and a $25.00 Food and beverage credit. The General manager and his staff are extremely cordial and accommodating. San Diego is my wife and I’s favorite vacation spot as there is so much to do and see. Truly a beautiful and clean city. This Marriott is in a great location on Coronado island and sits right on the bay. Great views of the bay especially at night. Not a day goes by where you don’t see a ship sail by or aircraft fly over. You can go over to hotel Del and be on the beach but we prefer this spot for scenery and a better price. Plus the beach is a short Uber/trolley ride and the resort provides beach chairs. I know a a lot of resort fees are rip offs but this property you get a lot for your daily fee. As I mentioned the beach chairs. You also get bikes for 2 hours a day and the wellness center/work out facility is top notch with pickle ball/tennis/basketball/lap pool/fitness center. We utilized Daily Service was too notch as well from the pool bartender to front desk staff to wait staff. Food is also very good on site and plenty restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend this property.

We stayed here from Wednesday August 18 to Saturday Aug 21 using Bonvoy points and it was awesome. They honored my suite nights upgrade and gave us a one bed room suite with two balconies. We could not have asked for better service. Sasha at the bar and Jose during breakfast were the best. This is for sure one place we will definitely come back to. The breakfast buffet was the only meal we ate at the hotel and it was really good. They offer everything from made to order omelets and waffles to the freshest fruit. I highly recommend this resort.

We decided to get out of the heat and smoke of the NW and spent a few days at this beautiful resort. A previous traveler here mentioned it has the Hawaii vibe and we agree. We were upgraded to a pool/bay view. We were on the ground floor and had a huge patio with comfy chairs. We enjoyed reading and people watching. Our room was really well appointed. The bathroom appears upgraded. It was all very clean and really nice. You can’t beat the location. We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet, the pool and valet parking. We are already booking another return trip One last thing. This resort is remarkably quiet. The pool noise doesn’t travel.

Would rate 3.5 stars out of 5 if we could. Location is beautiful with scenic bay views and easy access to all of Coronado Island via shuttle or car. Also easy access airport, Zoo, and downtown. Had executive suite with two large balconies. Room and balconies were spacious. Staff were very nice, but obviously stretched extremely thin. The property offers beach chairs (2/room), towels, and boogie boards included in the resort fee. Check in was extremely slow. We waited in the elite line for 45 minutes while the regular line moved at an appreciably faster pace. They did offer us a gift upon checking in including a handy, packable Bonvoy backpack and water bottle which I used for the reminder of our trip. There is only one working elevator and the walk to our room was far (0.25 -0.33 mile one way). Would not recommend this property for anyone with mobility issues. Our suite was huge but in need of a refresh (chipped paint on wooden cabinets, worn deck furniture, and just seemed meh-ok), room cleanliness was 7/10 (hair on floors, crumbs under sofa cushions for sofa bed, stains on the wall (that could be wiped off). And the parking garage in disrepair. Grab and go food was pretty good. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there were too many negatives for us to rate this property higher or stay again.
