The staff were very helpful. I had made a mistake and arrived a day early than I had booked but they sorted us out anyway even though they were very busy. I was very grateful. Great room with a pool/city view over San Diego. Good poolside service and bar. The only thing I would say is that I thought the pool was a little on the small side and had no separate area for kids so it could get noisy and we got the occasional splash of the kids. The ferries across to the city are a short walk away. We were only there for 1 night but nevertheless had a really good time. Would def stay here again next time

As San Diego residents, we decided on a close-by, one-night escape. We chose Marriott's Coronado Island Resort and we were rewarded with a wonderful stay. The staff at check-in were friendly and directed us to the room that Jennifer Hance, the resort concierge, had found for us. With the room's wide balcony, we sat outside and watched the constant action of water sports and commercial shipping activities on the bay against the backdrop of the San Diego skyline. We were treated that night to the same downtown skyline outlined in lights. The next morning, we took advantage of the Wellness Center's pool, and again the staff there couldn't have been any nicer. While we have also stayed on Coronado's ocean side, the Marriott's location provides a completely different experience, and that all starts with the excellent staff that work there. Highly recommended!

When we first checked in, we got a relatively new employee at the front desk to whom I stressed how important a nice room was (we booked a double-bed room). After much searching she put us in a slightly upscale broom closet: 102. It was small, had only a bathtub/shower combo, had stained carpet, and overlooked — literally — a bush. We went back to the desk to complain, and here’s where they good comes in: the manager Rick totally rocked and upgraded us to 194, which was twice the size, overlooked the bay, and had a bigger bathroom with full shower and separate soaking tub. He said he waived the extra charge. We really appreciated it immensely, since we were there 4 nights. That said…. The carpet was still stained, and worst of all the beds were really uncomfortable — you felt every spring. Overall, the rooms are a bit tired. But there was housekeeping done nicely every day, and they have unlimited free water. The main pool and the cottage pool were very nice, but overrun by children — adults looking for an adult vacation, beware. Another downside was the “wellness center” which I expected to be a spa like area. It was a small gym, period. The “wellness center lap pool” was a plain rectangle baking in the sun, with nary a tree or chair to adorn it. Since “spa” is in their name, I think they need to seriously upgrade the spa amenities/atmosphere. The hotel is in a great location, and the free summer shuttle bus stops in FRONT of it, which was a great boone for getting around the whole island. All the employees were really nice and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and appreciated Rick to no end for fixing the room situation, but I’m not sure I’d stay again.

This would have been the 14th time of staying at the hotel (the same time of year)…this time I was expected to have paid more than double for the same period as well as the extortionate resort charges Luckily I found the reservation I had was within 2 hours of the cancellation window for a six night stay So I decided to cancel it, otherwise be forced to pay for something that is really not worth the money I then approached the reservation system to see how much a one night stay would be before going back to the UK at the end of a trip only to find with service feeds/ resort fees etc etc it would have been over $510 for one night !!! I don’t see how the hotel can justify expecting people to pay those costs ..I only wanted a room for one night, not a timeshare of one of the rooms I will think better if staying here again, but might annoy them and make many bookings only to cancel them the day before !!

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to learn you did not stay. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future stay. In the meantime, the price paid is relative to the value which unfortunately you did not experience. It is true that rates have increased over the years to align with cost increases. We apologize for the adverse impact any necessary increase has created. Again, thank you for the feedback and safe travels home.

Room is musty and dingy, feeling much like staying in someone’s basement. Most definitely old and needs updating. View very nice and the bed was comfortable. This is called a “resort”, however, there is no room service. There should, at least, have a warning sometime during reservation process, or a discounted rate. The restaurant says it’s open until 9:30 but they won’t seat you at 9 (so it really closes at 9). The parking area is gloomy and looks like under construction. If you want a high price tag and a nice view but that’s it, this is the place for you. Bring your portable air purifier and food if you’re getting in a little late.

We apologize for falling short of expectations and as a teachable moment have shared your feedback with the leadership team. It is unfortunate that we missed explaining several dining options to include mobile dining as an alternative to traditional room service. In addition and as you suggested, the parking structure is in the final weeks of a significant improvement project. That said, it should have been explained upon your arrival. Your feedback has our full attention as we look for ways in which to improve. Again, thank you for sharing and BONVoY

This is labelled as a resort. Heaven help you if your plane is a little late. There is ZERO room service. The website says that the restaurant is open until 9:30, but “no soup for you” after 9:00 when the kitchen closes. It’s not a resort when you have to resort to GrubHub. Definitely would not recommend.

We apologize for falling short of expectations and not assisting with your dining needs. As a teachable moment, your feedback has been shared with the leadership team. It is undoubtedly disappointing to learn that we did not explain alternate dining options, such as mobile dining which offers late dining. We thank you for your feedback as we look for ways in which to improve.

The spa treatment at the Coronado Island Resort Marriott was awesome. Jose and Sarah were wonderful and provided outstanding customer service. I would recommend both a massage and facial at the Coronado Island Resort Marriott. The resort is close to restaurants.

Stay Report - 9/2 to 9/4 Location: The hotel is located on the south side of Coronado Island right after you get off the causeway from the mainland.  It's near a small man made beach along with a jogging trail and has great views of the Naval Station and Bridge.  Sunrise from here is really pleasant in fact.   Hotel: The hotel is a really pleasant resort with a large main building which houses the restaurant, bar, coffee shop, main pool and pool bar.  There are both valet and self parking options.  In addition to the main building they have cottages which have their own parking lot and their own small pool.  There's also a wellness center with a lap pool. Check In: We arrived at 10 PM to the glorious news we got upgraded to a cottage.  The front desk agent was very friendly and helpful and offered points or breakfast.   Room: The cottages are great especially with a family.  It's quiet and private and you get a lot of space.  There's a living room area with pull out sofa (and for once linens were in the room), a large king bed, a balcony and a great bathroom with tub and shower.  There was also a mini fridge, two bottles of water and a coffee maker.  Dining: Breakfast for Titaniums is a full buffet with omelet/waffle bar.  The food quality was a little better than your average buffet and they didn't charge me for my daughter either Resort: The main pool is very nice though obviously crowded when we were there.  They have day beds for rent ($150 for half a day) and plenty of chairs and pool toys.  There's also a really good pool bar though obviously prices here are hard.  One last note: we had issues with the parking gates because our keys weren't coded correctly, we got a $20 F&B credit as an unprompted service recovery which was nice. The hotel costs an eye watering 60,000 points per night but I really feel I got great value here and would gladly return.  My wife and daughter loved it too.

We stayed at the Marriott Coronado Island in July in adjoining rooms. The rooms were HUGE and very comfortable. We had patios that overlooked the pool/harbor. It was a quiet hotel and we all slept really well. We loved the bath/shower set up in the bathroom and there was so much room to unpack. The grounds were really beautiful - you can walk along the harbor, there are flamingos and ducks, and besides the pool area there is corn hole, ping pong and other fun lawn games. I would recommend getting a car - we drove a lot while we were here because we wanted to sightsee around San Diego. We could have walked to dinners in Coronado but we drove because by the end of the day we were tired. From the hotel we drove to sightsee in downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Balboa park and Old town. There was some trouble with the check in process where they did not have adjoining rooms even though we were guaranteed them upon booking - in the end they sorted it out but it was stressful at first.

Stay away from this hotel! The ONLY thing you get is a view, if you’re lucky. Arrived to room our room and it smelled like complete mold. We set the AC on 68 and the temp kept rising. Called front desk and they said they would send maintenance. Forty minutes later and nothing. Called again and asked to be moved to a different room. Arrived to new room and the temp has not gone below 77 degrees! The carpet in both rooms was wet. The lobby is very deceiving as it is modern and up to date. Rooms are very old and the rest of the hotel is dire need of an update!
