I stayed at the hotel for a weekend getaway. I am a Titanium member so I stay at a lot of Marriott hotels. Nice location and great views of the bay but the rooms need a renovation and need new beds. Air conditioning does not keep a constant temperature. One minute too hot and the next too cold. The worse part is they charge a $40 resort fee and they do not even have a bellman. Get ready to carry your own luggage to your room. Not worth the price they charge.
That is full of ants, Lack of employees, Rooms are old but well maintained, This is one of the most overrated hotels I've ever stayed in my lifetime. The place is not well signed it took us over 35 minutes to find the underground parking right next door. Trying to be positive yes we do have a very nice Bayview room but that's all, My shower at home works better than the shower here
My friends and I had the great pleasure of staying at this Marriott property on Coronado island for three days and nights in mid June. The cottage we rented (situated in clusters of four) was set apart from the main property and also had dedicated pool, hot tub and other common area amenities. The cottages are spacious, modern and quiet. They are also directly adjacent to the bayside shoreline. You can order from the restaurant (and bar) using the Bonvoy app (which also unlocks your door if you wish). The food selection and quality are excellent as are the mixologist-made drinks. Property is very close to Coronado beach.
The hotel and facilities were excellent. Very efficient staff who were really attentive. Had an issue with the sliding door on to the sun balcony that I reported at breakfast the first morning and by the time I had finished eating there was already someone there fixing it. I was there for a conference and each day both lunch and dinner when provided were just great. Served on the lawns outside overlooking SanDiego mainland. It was also Tom Cruise and Top Gun premier so we were treated to a number of aircraft passing and landing at the naval base on the island.
We stayed for two nights in a ground floor room with a lovely view of Coronado Bridge. Check-in was not until 4:00PM, but the room was not ready until a half hour later. The room itself was quite spacious, and we enjoyed our stay and the patio view. However, there were some negatives. First, the room’s rug had clearly not been thoroughly vacuumed in some time. It wasn’t dirty or stained but my stopped up nose and itchy eyes told me it needed either a rug shampoo or some serious vacuuming with a quality vacuum. Secondly, there were no towel racks in the bathroom. A top quality hotel bathroom where you have to put your damp towels on the floor or side of the tub was surprising.
Kids loved the pool, which is heated to 80 degrees, and the Jacuzzi. Great view of the ocean as we relaxed for a few days. There were many families here during our spring break trip but it never felt full. Breakfast was great. We are platinum members and the breakfast buffet for 4 was complimentary. Enough variety to cater to everyone including a omelette station, baked goods, 4 hot items, oatmeal and a few cold items such as bagels w/ lox or cold oatmeal. There were two Tesla EV chargers and 1 standard EV charger that was often available during our stay. Staff had great service throughout the visit!
Spent the weekend here, the property it self is a little dated but its very nice and the staff was very polite and helpful. We had a bay facing room which was nice to drink your coffee on in the mornings. The pool and activity area was also enjoyable. Will definitely stay here again. Its also a little walk to Orange Ave. for many good restaurants and bars.
Took my husband and daughter for a two-night getaway. I should have done three nights. Perfect if you don’t want a crowd and enjoy water and activity. We rode bikes included with the stay to the Naval base, strolled the path along the water in the mornings, enjoyed Starbucks, laid by the pool. Pickleball, tennis, and gym facilities available and great restaurants, coffee shop and boutique stores right down the water path. We drove into the mainland (Gaslamp et al) and spent time around Coronado Island including gelato at Hotel del Coronado. I preferred the relaxing atmosphere of our home base and the price vs Hotel del Coronado. We definitely would come to this resort again!
We just returned home from our first time stay here and we will be back!! We booked this hotel as an Anniversary get away. We love San Diego and always desire to stay at Marriotts as we were Marriott Bonvoy Members. This location did not disappoint! We spent three nights and had a bay front view on the first floor. Room 138 overlooked the lawn and had a great view of the bay. Let me first say that this was the first hotel we've stayed at in the last two years (and we've stayed at many!!!) that felt like it was totally Pre-Covid/Normal times and it was glorious!! The restaurants were open, there was daily housekeeping, and only a few people wearing masks. We very much appreciated this. The room was very clean upon our arrival. Bathroom was spacious and beautiful with a separate tub and stand up shower. Plenty of counter space. The bed linens were soft, the bed was hard, but we still slept wonderfully the three nights we were here. Our room was quiet. We could hear the herd of elephants in the room above walking about in the morning, but other than that, we could not hear the people in the neighboring rooms. Housekeeping was offered everyday which was very much welcomed, as a lot of hotels have still not returned to this since COVID. We had a patio with two chairs and a small table. We like to sit on the patio and read and just watch the activity on the bay. We sit outside for hours at a time. The only complaint we have about the room are the chairs on the patio. The chairs are horribly uncomfortable. They really need to be replaced with something more conducive to people who enjoy sitting on the patios and balconies. Because of our Marriott Status, we took advantage of the breakfast offered every morning at Albaca. The first day we ordered breakfast off of the menu, the service was very slow at getting to our table, but the food was great. The other two mornings, we took full advantage of the breakfast buffet the hotel offered. Service was outstanding. We also had a mid afternoon lunch and enjoyed a burger and the tater tots, again the service was great! Would definitely recommend eating here. All of the Marriott employees were friendly and very helpful. Always had a smile on their face. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to restaurants and shops at the Coronado Ferry Landing. We ate dinner at Ll Fornaio, the Italian restaurant. Was excellent food and great service! One late afternoon, we took the Ferry from here over to Broadway Street/Portside Pier area for dinner where there are quite a few places to choose from. We very much enjoyed our time here. We had hoped to sit and relax and destress and we were able to do that. We will definitely be back to enjoy more stays in the future.…
Consider yourself fortunate if you snag a room in the front of the property. It is beautiful with views of the water and the bridge to Coronado Island. I arrived early in the morning due to an early flight and was so grateful they allowed me to check in early and was given a room in the back of the property with a lovely veranda but facing a parking lot. The room was very large with a huge TV and large bathroom with deep soaking tub and separate shower. The room was very clean but in need of some updating. The linens on the bed were beautiful! There was a musty smell but that sometimes happens near bodies of water. The restaurant was excellent with great service. I had breakfast each morning served by Daniel, a gracious man who remembered exactly what I ordered the previous days. The pool sits next to the water and had plenty of towels. There were big, double day beds with huge umbrellas, some of the nicest of any pools I’ve seen.…
