Service, hotel and rooms were fantastic. Also, breakfast was good - coming from Europe we missed vegetables or more fruits, but this was not the biggest deal. The hotel is next to the metro station (but there is 500m walking to it as there is no direct access) and there is a huge car park, if coming by car. And the hotel is close to big shops and restaurants, so this was so convenient. Although location of hotel was good, then neighborhood was a bit challenging - outside hotel we always were on guard as there were many drug using persons, but on other hand - they are in all Los Angelos big area (the marihuana smell was terrible in all Los Angelos) - while we stayed, we saw on news street gang violence in Los Angelos are, car burnings in Los Angelos center and experienced closure of whole Long Beach area by police because of planed teens takeover. Even in Santa Monica area there were lot of drug users in daylight...

They had breakfast actually a pretty good one but the lady that was preparing the food was back there with her shoe in her hand and when I asked her for something she put her shoe back on and preceded to touch the food. One day someone filled up 4 plates of meat and walked out the hotel. The room was clean enough for you to sleep and shower. I personally will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

I booked the Crystal for a long weekend in LA but couldn't afford anywhere in LA proper. Turns out it wasn't too bad a choice. The Crystal is near two things that came in really handy: a shopping mall with plenty of food options as well as a couple places to buy essentials that we forgot to pack, and a metro station (Artesia), though it isn't as direct to get to. To get to it, you need to exit the hotel, turn left and walk up the on ramp into the hotel guest parking lot then turn right onto the bridge over the tracks. After turning right at the corner, you'll find the entrance proper to Artesia station. The hotel itself was very comfortable. Check in was straightforward. The check-in paperwork mentioned a $100 deposit that needed to be taken, but we were informed that it was no longer necessary. My favorite part of our stay was the buffet breakfast. You get paper tickets for it so check in. One, per person, per day. We also made sure to spend some time in the pool. To that end, we requested a room near it. The fitness center left a lot to be desired but, then again, it was a hotel fitness center. The treadmill required a key from the front desk to use and one of the other machines was out of order. Regardless, the gym had enough equipment for us to get a good sweat going. My recommendation: If you don't mind commuting downtown for an LA vacation and appreciate leaving that hustle and bustle behind at the end of your sightseeing days, consider the Crystal for your LA stay.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the LA Crystal Hotel. We're delighted to hear that your long weekend in LA, despite being outside the city proper, turned out to be a good choice. We appreciate you highlighting the convenient location of the hotel near a shopping mall and a metro station (Artesia), making it easy for you to access food options and essentials. Your detailed directions to the metro station are sure to be helpful for future guests. We're pleased to know that your overall stay was comfortable, and we appreciate your positive comments about the buffet breakfast and the pool. It's great that you found the check-in process straightforward and that the hotel staff was accommodating regarding the deposit. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the fitness center. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll use it to make necessary improvements. Super clean and friendly staff. We stayed a weekend before our cruise. Staff was always friendly... the only small issue will be a lack of a restaurant. The one in casino was ok, but nothing to write home about it. Location is sketchy, but uber was always available

This time in LA, I decided to pick a hotel further from downtown, as downtown hotels were extremely expensive. I chose LA Crystal, next to Artesia station, as I would be relying on public transit. However, Metro has closed the station entrance on the hotel’s side of the tracks, so it was a ten-minute hike to the hotel, which came as an unpleasant surprise. Once at the hotel, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I got my room at 1 pm, ahead of official check-in time. I was happy to see the room fulfilled four-star criteria: It was large, came with a wide and comfortable double bed, a sitting area with armchairs and a coffee table, a desk, ample closet and drawer space, two 0.5 L water bottles (replenshed during cleaning), a fridge, efficient (but noisy) A/C, sockets by the bed etc. The curtains did a good job keeping the room dark. However, there was no safe and the wifi connection was spotty. It was free and unlimited, but especially uploading was difficult at times, and sending emails with attachments simply didn’t work as the connection timed out every time. There was some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother me. They hosted some parties on the ground floor during the weekend, but no noise reached my room on the 5th floor. The decor in the room felt a bit oldfashioned, but the room was clean and everything was in good condition. This is what hotel rooms looked like 25 years ago. Cleaning is on request only, so every other day I asked for the room to be cleaned, and this was done when I was out. The bathroom came with your typical American low bathtub + shower combo, with a wall-mounted showerhead with good water pressure. Amenities included minibottles of shampoo and body lotion as well as small bars of soap. I find these a lot more hygienic than the containers some hotels choose to place on their bathroom walls to save money. There was a microwave and an ice machine in the hallway. The swimmingpool (open 9 am to 10 pm) was a bit too cold for me but I enjoyed the hot tub on the pool deck. While the room was really nice, the hotel doesn’t otherwise offer any amenities. There is no breakfast and no restaurant (there are plenty of eateries in the strip mall a ten- minute-walk away, as well as a Target and an Aldi). I do prefer a downtown location, but value for money is definitely better here and I can very well see myself returning. Special thanks to Mike for being so helpful throughout my stay!

This hotel looks good from the outside but it's a budget hotel if that's what you are looking for. The rooms are just okay, however the TV channels are basic with nothing much to watch just old movies. My worst experience is their breakfast. I only had one breakfast for my entire 5 days stay. There is nothing there.. Absolutely nothing their breakfast is basic and flat. So just book bed only if you must stay here.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Fan are being used in the hallways to minimize the smell and limited hot water. Most people only speak Chinese, so almost impossible to get help. Also, our room was not made up and no more towels! They say they have enough works to service the hotel.
