We stayed in the wine cellar, which includes 2 queen beds in separate alcoves & a hot tub in the bath. Reliable heating with a gas fireplace, cooling with fans. Separate entrance, deck overlooking meadow. Proprietress, Sam is very sweet. Breakfast fine. A quiet place to stay when visiting Columbia or Sonora.

Our family spent the night here on 12/15. We were treated to the Wine Cellar! And it was a treat. The kids said, "This is the best place we've ever stayed Mom!" "Can we stay here again?" My kids travel a lot so to hear them say that is really something. Sam, the owner, truly is so sweet and the accommodations are so comfortable. The beds were cozy and there were plenty of towels to use in the bathroom and the hot tub! Our breakfast the next morning was made to order and we met the nicest people! I told Sam when we left that we will be back. This part of CA and especially Columbia are worth more than an overnight stay. If you plant to come to Columbia, see if Sam has room, you won't be sorry you did!

We were looking for a place for one night relatively close to the west entrance of Yosemite Park. Most places were either full or required a two night stay. Found this B&B on AAA guide. Called and talked to the owner (Samantha (Sam)) who said she had one room left -- The Wine Cellar. We arrived at The Harlan House about 7:00 p.m. after a VERY long, tiring day. We were met by Sam who immediately showed us the huge apartment -- literally an entire apartment, including two bedrooms, a 2-person spa in the very large bathroom, a living room, sitting room. Even some wine! Breakfast was offered from 8:00 -- it was EXCELLENT and it was fun talking to other guests and Sam. This was a great find and if we're back in the area, we will definitely try to stay at the Harlan House again. Couldn't do better.

We staid in the Rose room. It was so pretty with roses everywhere. It had its own fireplace as well. The entire house was lovely, very pretty. The shampoo and all in the bath smelled lovely. We were offered some wine in the evening, sat down on the porch. A friendly little dear came just outside the porch and said hi. Like a movie :) Classic well cooked American breakfast. Served between 8-10. Yummy! If we ever pass by an other time we will definitely stay here again!
