Words cannot describe the experience of staying in City Hotel! Not only are the rooms spacious and charming, but the whole atmosphere is also an experience to cherish! We stayed in room 6 and my dad stayed in room 1 with a private balcony. He said he left the doors open in the evening and enjoyed the cool, summer night... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of a road trip it's set in an old mining cowboy town and the locals dress in period costume the hotel is exactly as it would have been in 1890,s and we were greeted by a man in period dress at front desk The rooms were quaint and in period although there was... The park did a very good job remodeling this historic hotel in a very authentic way. Period furniture, antiques and wallpaper are used throughout. Rooms have air conditioners (in the ceiling) and small bathrooms in each room with sinks and toilets. Showers are communal. It's a fun experience. We enjoyed some delicious cinnamon rolls for breakfast at the "Columbia Kate"... More

We are so happy to hear that you had a nice visit to Columbia. Glad you noticed the air conditioners; we installed those in the last few years and they have made quite a difference for our summer guests. Hope you stay with us again soon! More

Walking into the City Hotel is a step into the past. The friendly clerk greeted us behind her big desk in a historic lobby. She showed us to our room up a long flight of stairs, going past a beautiful dining room (which wasn't open on the Monday night that we were there). This is not a modern hotel by... More

Stayed in Cottage #15 which has three bedrooms, a living room (with a smaller flat screen TV) and a full kitchen with kitchen nook and one bathroom. This is a State Park, a historic town and the cottage was historic too --- however for the age, it was well kept and very clean and accommodating for two couples. The bedrooms... More

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the cottage during the annual wine tasting event! It is a great location close to town and very convenient. We love that you played games and just enjoyed what Columbia has to offer. Hope you will return soon! More

We had lunch at City Hotel Restaurant in the middle of Columbia State Park. The food was very fresh and albeit the portions were small, the food was very good. The service was lacking and extremely slow. It was a weekend and the waitstaff seemed short-handed, even for this time of the year. We had a glass of wine and... More

Go back in time to 1850 go back to when the beds were thick and squeeky and the rooms only had an oil lamp. Its all at this great hotel you are greeted and checked in by lovely people in costume of the time. OK you do not have tv ensuit facilities, but you will have a great time.

We went to the City Hotel for dinner to be part of a CD release concert by an Irish Band, and ended up having a surprisingly good meal. The surprise came because over the past few years the hotel management, and the dining room, have gone through some significant changes. At one time it was run as part of a... More

My family rented five rooms in July for a family reunion. The historically decorated rooms we found very comfortable (modern central Air Conditioning) and the staff extremely helpful & friendly which helped to make our reunion seamless. We rented the balcony room which had a separate commode area with sink and a balcony area overlooking the street below. We enjoyed... More

We stayed here midweek in August, and we were the only guests in the hotel. The town is busy by day, but when things close we had the place to ourselves. It was like spending the night in a ghost town - we loved it. The hotel is furnished with beautiful antiques, straight from the era, and the staff is... More

The Columbia City Hotel and its sister, the Fallon Hotel, are authentically restored 19th-century country inns. All rooms are elegantly appointed with Victorian antiques, custom crafted wall coverings, and beautiful lithographs.
