Just what we needed traveling with our three Whippets: Dog friendly (no fee), clean, great location, quiet and very, very well maintained. We got an ADA room (dog friendly) on ground floor in the back; huge bathroom, super quiet and the bed was large and comfortable. From the outside, looks like the older style of the chain but again, you can see that the hotel is very well taken care of and had a lot of modern touches (places to plug in USB and such) in the room. Half an hour to the “dog beach” in San Diego but based on our reading of reviews of the chain, we decided to stay a bit farther out and stay here, glad we did. Only one night but perfection. Highly recommended if you are looking to stay in the general area, need a great dog friendly hotel but got worried about reviews of La Quinta’s in the main San Diego area.

Hotel needs more cleanness when it comes to hallways , stairs ; elevator and room carpets needs shampoo . Linen is not in good condition . Lobby and front desk looks nice and breakfast area is clean and organized. I want to mention that there is one Front Desk Attendant named ROMIE that went above and beyond with us in order to have a pleasant stay . I requested new linen for my room and he got us all we wanted including new pillows. Thank you to this great employee my stay was more comfortable.

This La Quinta Inn & Suite is a bit outdated and in desperate need of new carpeting in the rooms, but safe. It's right by the freeway but doesn't give you druggy motel vibes at all. Unfortunately the owner of this particular location might be extremely terrified of Covid, because no coffee or breakfast is offered at all, and the room price remains the same. I have stayed at a number of La Quintas in the past couple months and all but this one offered Covid-friendly breakfast and coffee options, which was a bummer. Our heater/cooling system located below the window was rattling all night which was also a bummer, but we were so tired we didn't ask to switch to another room. The staff was courteous and Covid-conscious, and the lobby was decorated for the holiday, which is always appreciated! I'd give it another chance in the future as a last resort stay (no pun intended).

The pictures of the lobby, laundry, rooms, and amenities are accurate. Main desk and housekeeping staff were highly courteous and helpful, property is immaculate inside and out. The Fitness room had a new recumbent bike, stair stepper, and treadmill. The only negative was that the multi-station weight training equipment was in very bad repair and coming apart, and handles for the pulley exercises were missing so could do very little with this device, so needs the multi-station to either be replaced or refurbished.

I felt everyone was very attentive and nice from check in to check out. I think that breakfast could be better and the coffee was extremely strong and bitter. I think that if the breakfast improved and the coffee was not as strong then everything would have been perfect at least for my taste. I am not demanding but breakfast is a non negotiable.

Usual hotel stay. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfy. Shower was okay. We were in handicap accessible room so sinks were low. There were also a couple designated dog spots and the doors to the rooms face outside, which is nice if you have a dog.

Denny's is right in front of hotel and food was good. We ate their for dinner.

They offered free breakfast. I am glad waffle station seperate from the other spots. There was coffee (caf/decaf, pump and powdered creamers), juice, cereal, yogurt, bananas, oranges, breakfast sandwiches and a microwave.

We stayed here to have air conditioning when we had a heat wave. It’s 10 mins from my house and I was able to take my dogs, which was a bonus.

The staff was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating.

The bed were very comfortable and the a/c was great!

The rooms have carpet and it felt gross we wore shoes the whole time because we didn’t feel comfortable walking around barefoot. I wish they would upgrade to laminate like most other La Quintas have.

The breakfast was very disappointing. They had only carbs or dairy. There were no protein options. No eggs, bacon or sausage. Only pancakes, bagel, muffins, cereal and fruit. Definitely not diabetic friendly. I’m used to other locations that have both options.

The pool had a greasy ring around the tile like it had not been cleaned in a while. Plus there were other guests that were splashing and getting everyone else soaked. It was impossible to get away due to the size of the pool and number of guests in the pool. We only used it once and decided it wasn’t worth it after that.

What a wonderful stay I had at this hotel. The staff is what made it so great. I was here for 10 days and there was not 1 person that was not trying to make my stay great. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful I wish more people and more businesses were like this. There was not one request I could have had it wasn't fulfilled. The breakfast had plenty of food ,cereal ,bagels, muffins and much more. The staff restocking it at all times so you never went without and it was crowded you could tell people that stayed there enjoyed it. It is an older Hotel that's getting refurbished but the beds were comfortable the room was spacious. I stayed in a wheelchair accessible room, top-notch let me tell you. This is the only hotel I will stay at when I come down to San Diego . It is right by the freeways easy access to everywhere and there is even a Dennys in the parking lot what more could you ask for. I want to thank the staff for making me feel.like family while I was here. I will definitely be spending more time here.

This is an old La Quinta so the rooms smelled like cigarettes, bathroom smelled like toilet water masked with air fresheners. Carpets were old, and the sanitation looked questionable. I do not recommend.
