Quaint little bed and breakfast in the heart of historic downtown Chula Vista. Family owned and operated, this place offers the type of service and attention that is offered by smaller hotels that are family owned. Great for a quiet and relaxing stay in town. The building was erected in the 30's, so it has a particular character that makes...

My wife and I recently spent two days visiting San Diego and the area, during our return trip from Arizona. We were very fortunate to find this little gem of a hotel in Chula Vista, El Primero. A 1930 vintage art deco building, located at the edge of "the village", in Chula Vista. We were so pleased with this stay,...

The owner was so sweet and gave off such a welcoming personality. Although the rooms aren't very spacious they were comfortable , clean and just enough for me and my boyfriend. The bathrooms are noted to be in need of some work (clean and working nonetheless) but the owner emphasized that it was in the process. Cant wait to come...

Room was great and updated without removing the historical charm. Breakfast was first rate with a great presentation and taste. The dining room in the garden was such a restful respite and I enjoyed it. Recommended highly. We stayed just the one night due to travel plans but want to return

We loved it. Clean, very comfortable beds, bathrooms are a good size though not a lot of counter space. Innkeeper is a wealth of info and breakfast was very good. The only downside for us was being a bit far from the transit/train system as Uber can be expensive during surges. Very much enjoyed our stay!

We had a great trip to San Diego, which was made all the better by our stay at the El Primero. This hotel was built in the 1930's, so sure, the rooms are smaller than what you might find in a chain hotel, but any reduction in floor space is made up in charm and comfort (the bed was especially...

My husband and I stayed 3 nights from March 1 - 3, 2017. We had a queen room toward the back of the hotel Our room and the rest of the property were immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, muffins, bagels, juice, milk, and coffee. It was very tasty, especially the...

My co-worker and I stayed here for 3 nights while on business, and we really enjoyed the character of the hotel, as it combines 1930s Art Deco with modern style. Karen the inn-keeper was exceptionally helpful, recommending places to stop at for our onward drive to L.A. and she even printed out driving directions as our hire car didn't have...

I was traveling with my 86 year old mother who is still quite active and mobile but is cautious navigating stairs. When we arrived at the B&B in the early evening Karen the Innkeeper moved our reservation to a ground floor room adjacent to the kitchen. We stayed in a lovely room and were afforded some of the most personal...

Can't say enough good things about David and Katie. They were so friendly and helpful. Great suggestions on restaurants. Ok enough about them, this place is clean, comfortable, and definitely try the banana bread at breakfast. We met friendly people and had pleasant chats in the morning. Would definitely recommend!!!
