The worst 2 days of our vacation. Evidence of the managements neglect. Dirty, the toilet seat was not attached, and there was no place for toiletries in the shower. Could not wait to move down the way to the Best Western, which was very nice.

This place was terrible, rooms smelt like mildew and wi fi didnt even work at all, the worst part was when we asked for a refund because of the rooms that same day, they said we had to wait for the manager only for them to say we couldnt have our money back.

We had two rooms for the four of us during a busy parent's weekend with families visiting Chico State. Low cost and convenient location but old and fraying facilities with very average room. The lobby shows its age and the swimming pool was filled with debris-- definitely not usable at this point. The room was very average-- my wife thought...

I have been staying at the Safari Inn many times over the years. Yes, there are always things that can be improved and during last two years some have been made. The bed linens could be updated, but the general cleanliness has improved and the prices are still great. If you are looking for a basic motel room, with free...

My husband is a truck driver and so when he is out of hours to drive he needs a hotel/motel. He found himself in Chico on Oct 10 needing to hotel/motel, well it was parents day at the college and a reptile convention. He went to best western and they were charging $250 for a smoking room, which he is...

If you like clean, (and who doesn't?) and fancy retro accommodations (if you don't you should) you'll enjoy this place. Cordial, friendly staff.......and for the price? well it can't be beat. With respect to character, It certainly gives the HI a sound beating.... at a 1/4 of the price. Oh yes, I'll be back.

The young lady that greeted us at the desk was very sweet, but our experience just went downhill from there. The bed was hard as a rock, pillows were small and flat. The only reason we stayed was because there no rooms available anywhere else. The room was not clean, shower slow to warm. We stayed three nights. The second...

This place is pretty nasty. I've stayed in quite a few motels in Chico and this has got to be the worst. From the moment I walked in all I smelled a strong hint of cleaner and when I sat up on the bed I was poked in the leg by an exposed mattress spring.

Having read other reviews about the Safari Inn, I was not expecting a great experience. I was, however, very pleasantly surprised. The room is nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable, with big windows and plenty of light and air. The staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I come to Chico often and will definitely stay here next time I...

“If you are not a smoker ask for a room far from the smoking rooms, as there are still a few folks traveling to Chico who haven't quite got the memo about smoking as a stinky carcinogen while we could not smell smoke in our room, the fellow smoking outside his door didn't seem concerned whether or not his smoke drifted into the windows of others.”
