This wonderful spot is about 20 minutes from Alturas. Beautiful rooms each have mineral springs spas off the back slider. On the edge of the high desert, you can see steam across the valley from cents, backed by mountains and great sunsets. Highly recommended!

I've stayed here twice and had a good experience both times. I stayed in the single story building with motel style rooms. Each room has it's own private mineral spring soaking tub. It takes a bit of time to get the water temperature just right, but once you do you can soak under an incredible display of stars you can...

This little remote gem is wonderful because it is pretty far from everything, no exaggeration! About 7 miles east of Cedarville on hiway 299 (not really a hiway but a two-lane country road) Surprise Valley Hotsprings gazes back on the snot-capped Warner mountains, enjoys a non-light-polluted night sky, and each room has its fully adjustable spring-fed hot tub. It is...

You're not going to find an experience like this at any kind of chain hotel, no matter how nice. The check-in staff were quirky and great. The lobby is full of DVDs that you can borrow for the evening for free. I suggest roaming around the grounds of the hotel because it feels like another planet. It's a grassy oasis...

We had a wonderful overnight stay. The mineral spring tub was so relaxing and feels fantastic for your skin. We stayed in room #20 so the hot tub is in the room making the entire suite warm. Great opportunity to open the windows and enjoy fresh air. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are no phones in the...

Room 11. The place is as described on their website. They have take a good deal of effort to make the website; go look at it.. We brought food because we didn't want to leave to drive 5 miles to the only restaurant in town. You won't even need a swim suit because there are no public swim areas. The...

My hubby and I had an opportunity to stay here last night 4-21-16 after a long day of driving from Portland back to Reno. Trust me, if you have time, this is the place to tuck in for the night a have a soak in your own outside hot spring. We arrived after the office hours, they close at 5pm,...

This was our second night on a road trip of hot spring resorts. Beautifully unique. Resort is three miles from Cedarville - a small hidden away town in a hidden away valley. Some dining and supplies are available in town, but you would be much better served by stocking up in Lakeview or Alturas before heading up over the mountains...

This was our first visit for an anniversary trip and would like to come again. Nice room, comfy bed, and really enjoyed the private hot tub outside room. My husband treated me to hour message on site and have to say it was best message I had ever had. Would definitely recommend "Abby" if you come here. Rooms are older...

My wife and I have looked all over the Northwest for hot springs on the privacy model, but the Surprise Valley Hot Springs are unique. Each room comes with an outdoors setting of a private deck with a high fence and a hot tub where you adjust the temperature and the pool is drained and cleaned after each guest. The...
