This is a small mom & pop motel with a 9 space RV park built in 1981. There is a community kitchen, small coin laundry, picnic tables, barbecue, and horse shoe pit. We have two pet rooms and charge $5.00 per night per pet. Also available to rent is a early 1900's three bedroom house with a large fenced yard. Furnished with antiques and located one block from Main street. No pets are allowed.

Modest but clean and well kept. My first choice in Surprise Valley for the last ten years. Owner/managers are friendly and accommodating. Easy walk to town-center restaurants. Lovely views and clear 'dark' skies at night.

Very good atmosphere, we´d enjoyed staying there for two nights after leaving Burning Man. The rooms are comfy and clean, beautiful garden, very friendly staff. They even have some fully equipped lots for RV´s or Trailers. The small village of Cedarville is a beautiful community, Deer in the gardens. Perfect hangout to decompress.

Everything about this hotel has an old-fashioned charm. The owner takes you word, not your credit card, that you will show up. She is a treasure trove of local information, so make sure to ask her any questions you have about the area. The rooms are large. The bed was comfortable. The shower had enough pressure, and there were plenty of towels. If you're a light sleeper, you've come to the right place. It's incredibly quiet, and the rooms come with curtains that keep it dark. For early risers, step outside your room to watch the sunrise and quail.

The Sunrise motel is a very nice place, with outstanding owners. The folks are very accommodating, and the rooms are "top shelf". We have stayed there several times, and always enjoy the experience. There is Wi Fi, and clean up areas for your car, as we had our vintage cars on tour. There are 3 pet chickens that help entertain, as they peck the bugs off your car bumper!!

After my wife broke her arm in a fall, we set the GPS to get us home to Utah ASAP. Our drive was seriously complicated by forest fires through Oregon, Cal and Nevada. We were forced into a 35 mile detour east of Klamath, then made our way to the Oregon/Cal border at Lakeview where we were detained by a fire blocked road for 1 1/2 hours. Then into Alturas CA for gasoline. Mrs. GPS then directed us east to Gerlach, NV, easily the ugliest town in America. We happily drove through and just south of town we were stopped by another forest fire blocked road. Asking the road crew, we were informed that the blockage would be at least 12 hours. So we had to return almost to Alturas to find a motel. We were pleasantly surprised to stop for gas in Cedarville and be directed to the Sunrise Motel. We were delighted to be greeted by the lovely, friendly owner who walked us to our room. We didn't really expect much for the very low price but we were charmed and very pleased by our gracious hostess and by the delightful room. Clean and just pleasant. Absolutely no complaints. The bed was very comfortable. We almost hated to leave the next morning but had to drive 740 miles to get home for medical attention for my wife's broken wrist. As we drove we heard that the blockage at Gerlach was 15 hours, so it was a good decision to return to Cedarville and the pleasant, unexpected Sunrise Motel. I really can't imagine our travels ever taking us there again, but if your are going to Cedarville, CA please do yourselves a favor and stay at the Sunrise Motel
