Welcome! Thanks for looking at our little corner of paradise! We live on four acres that include a beautiful stretch of Austin Creek and some of the oldest redwoods in the area, our oldest one being over 1,200 years old!Breakfast is included with all of the B&B cottages by our bakery except our largest cottage, Paradise Grove Cottage, which is literally, just around the bend with a full kitchen and grill. We are a 20 minute drive to the Sonoma Coast, wineries, kayaking, golf, incredible antique shops, hiking and more. Come and stay with us and let us help you plan your perfect getaway!

My mom and I (and my dog!) stayed here for a weekend and it was a wonderful experience. Mark is a lovely and hospitable host and a very talented baker. The cabin we stayed in was very quaint, cozy, and comfortable. The grounds are lovely and have tons of added amenities such as fire pit, bbq grill, gardens, and of course the bakery on the premises! It is located in Cazadero which is about 10-15 min drive from the nearest "town" and wineries, etc. but we appreciated it for its remoteness. Deep in the redwoods, with access to the creek and swimming hole... dreamy! It was an excellent experience and I can't wait to return!

Wife and I arrived on a cold, wet Monday evening. Room ("loft") was clean but furniture was mix 'n match. Wall heater was not working but Mark got us 2 portable heaters. I couldn't get hot water out of the shower until Mark explained the shower control (the plumbing must be crossed) and he turned on both the shower and basin faucet so that the oversized tankless water heater would kick in. He said to let ourselves into the bakery downstairs if we wanted hot tea, etc. later that nite but didn't tell us about the gate and hidden latch release; I couldn't see either one in the dark. He said he had to leave early the next morning to help with a school excursion, so he would leave breakfast for us in the bakery before leaving. The next morning I went down early to make sure we could find our way into the bakery by ourselves. No one was there when I went it so I looked around - no breakfast but a messy dining table and an even messier kitchen. Went down again later and saw Mark go in. I told him we would be back shortly. He was gone when we returned. Breakfast was a couple of kinds of bread, 2 pieces of pastry, coffee, tea bags, apples, a bowl of boiled eggs with ice cubes, yogurt, and instant oatmeal... a disappointment. See picture. NOTE: Unfortunately it was AFTER I booked the room that I found that the bakery is only open Friday to Sunday.

We spent one night at Elim Grove Cottages this fall and had the most wonderful time. The first night we arrived, Mark was there to welcome us with one of his kids and invited us to join him for a campfire out in their backyard. It felt like we were family. After a long drive, it was really nice to receive a cold beer and a warm welcome like that. Our cottage was cozy and really inviting. The highlight for us was definitely the outdoor area. There are fruit and vegetable gardens, an outdoor firepit and little outdoor spaces where one can read and just be. You can see that the owner has put a lot of love in this place. We were mostly left on our own and it was really nice exploring the area. There's a creek right next to the property and little trails that you can take if you so wish. And sky-high redwood trees everywhere! Breakfast was a treat of freshly-baked items that Mark himself made, and it's amazing. And we learned later on that Mark has won several awards for his bakery. It was a real treat meeting Mark and his kids in person, he has such a giving spirit that just inspires you tremendously. I was personally really moved by his story and his life motivation. It's not often that you meet someone with so much clarity in his life purpose, and it was really inspiring to meet someone like Mark. Even though we found this place after reading several reviews, we were still very much surprised by our time here. The cottages and owner truly surpassed everything we expected out of a typical B&B, and we can't wait to return soon. Highly recommended for those who just want to get away from it all. And for those who are doing the coastal drive along Northern California, make a little detour and stay at this place. You'll thank me for this.

We loved our experience in Mark's cottages in Cazadero. This was one of the most unique, friendly, artistic and off-beat (in a good way!) places we had ever been. At times it felt like a different world! We arrived for the Friday night pizza party which was a blast. Our cottage was cozy and charming, decorated with interesting antique items. Loved the heater in the bathroom and the comfie bed! It was also refreshing to have no rules and no nickel and diming- Mark was flexible with check-in and check-out, and offered us complimentary drinks on arrival which really made our night :) The grounds and surrounding areas are very pretty, although Mark & his family live on the grounds as well so there are a couple areas that are full of household items and kids' stuff :) Our only issue was that Mark was a bit hard to find one day- which made using the bbq, building a bonfire, and getting our gas stove going challenging for us (and ended with a gas stove accident that Mark was very gracious and understanding about). It all worked out fine but be prepared to be independent/flexible with these things just in case he is busy, as he has a lot going on! Next time we'll be sure to ask in advance. But when we did have some time with Mark, it was all worth it! He truly has an admirable outlook on life and is genuinely kind person. He did a free for all on Sunday morning where he just baked and set out coffee for everyone for free (pay it forward!) and it created such a warm community setting- his generosity was quite inspiring. We enjoyed just hanging out in the bakery, and trying everything he set out! And watching him dance with his daughter Ella was precious and also very impressive. His kids are also lots of fun and great little hosts. This was a unique experience in a gorgeous locale that we will surely repeat given the opportunity. It's just nice to know a place like Raymond's Bakery and Elim Grove cottages exists out there (and only two hours away! Lucky us)-
