This state park is a dump. The bathrooms have not been acid washed and power washed in years and are just disgusting. That is the ones that are not "out of order." I spent 3 days in this state park and the same "out of order" facilities never changed. If you have an RV or Trailer, good luck getting them... More

What a little gem! Right on the beach. Friendly staff and close to bike to many mom and pop restaurants and the grocery store. Cute walking trails. The camps spots are all asphalt and were very very small and hard to get into especially if it is crowded. But once you parked it was great. Camp fire ring suck unless... More

We tent camped 4 nights in early June at site C213, which is one of the pricier sites along the beach. Here are the PROS: An amazing location. We set our camp chairs in the dune above our site. Each morning we saw dolphins as we sipped our coffee. The kids enjoyed exploring the small tide pools and tar pits,... More

We went to this beach for Spring Break and it was such a nice, clean and pretty beach. I love that they also offer camping at this beach for RV's and tents. It's close to food places and stores. There is a great burger place right across the street from the beach. We had a great time and even saw... More

It is hard to find campgrounds with sites directly on the water/beach. This one has it. We paid a premium for a waterfront site. When we arrived found we had misunderstood and there were no hookups for our little 10 foot trailer and the sites on the water were basically a paved parking lot with striped to denote each numbered... This can be a great place to camp by the beach, if your lucky enough to reserve the few spots by the beach. Otherwise this campground is looking a little beat up. It could use some attention in the clean up department. Still a good place to come camp. John & LynNita Ellis

This campground deserves 4 stars for the beachfront sites. We spent a restful, beautiful few days over the New Year's Day holiday weekend in Site M456. We barbequed dinner over our fire pit (bring your own!) just 25 yards from the water while enjoying colorful sunsets overlooking Santa Cruz island. This is picturesque Southern California! To be clear: I would... More

Well I don't normally write negative reviews but this place wins the prize for the worst campground that you actually have to pay for ! My friend made the reservation and we were all looking forward to camping here on the winters weekend surfing, Paragliding, enjoying the southern California coast. we arrived at the campground at dark after a fun... The campsite is rather large but we opted for the lower number spots (#2) which had more privacy but no direct beach access. Beware of the spot directly across from it, next to the beach. It was next to the hike and bike spot which had 6 cyclists that night which sprawled over into the adjacent campsite. There were showers,... More

Stayed in the bike/hike area for only 10 bucks, only one using it. Great campground, and the Carpinteria town had so much to do. Campground very clean, However watch out for the raccoons. They will get into your food, use the food lockers.
