Carmel Valley Lodge is celebrated for its serene atmosphere and prime location, just a short walk from the village, nestled in a charming setting. Guests consistently commend the hotel's cleanliness and well-maintained amenities, including pristine pools and picturesque gardens. The rooms, often described as comfortable with cozy fireplaces and private patios, contribute to the lodge's quaint charm. Property's Favorite Review
The Carmel Valley Lodge is a jewel nestled against the hills of the valley. We had a lovely, spacious Deluxe California King Suite that was worth every penny of the upgrade cost. The room had a living room with an electric fireplace, full kitchen, breakfast table, bedroom and bath. The grounds are also lovely with a pool, manmade running brook, meticulous landscaping. The gift shop is charming. The "continental" breakfast is much more than that with ham and cheese croissants, oatmeal with fresh berries, deviled eggs and more!

We stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights as a home base to explore Big Sur. What a wonderful property with a warm staff. The room (#18) was huge with a gas fireplace and patio with seating. They're right to advertise their bedding because those were some of the softest sheets I've ever felt in my life! The only small issue we had was that the shower, while it has good temperature and pressure, feels like a modified garden hose! But I would absolutely book here again...mainly for the chance to see little Sophie, the owners' adorable pup.

We're so pleased you had a good experience and we appreciate your taking the time to respond with a review. The new water saving shower heads are getting mixed reviews, but we immediately sent maintenance to make sure it was operating correctly. We hope you had a safe trip home and we look forward to another visit someday. Sophie sends "paws up".

My friend and I met up in Carmel for a girls weekend and had a truly lovely time. The staff at Carmel Valley lodge is lovely and kind. The room was comfortable and the fireplace made all the difference as it ended up being a chilly, rainy time. There was ample parking right outside our room and the continental breakfast was the best I had. It included many options but my favorites were the warm croissants right from the oven, the blueberry yogurt parfait (just enough) and the fresh strawberries were super sweet- grown locally I am assuming! There is also a lovely village close by with great restaurants- our favorite was the Trailside Cafe. We ate there for lunch and another time for breakfast! Both delicious and would highly recommend. Also secluded and quiet away from all the hustle bustle, but only a stone’s throw (11 miles) to Carmel by the Sea and close to 17 Mile drive and Monterey. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time. This is a quaint property that goes back many years. Location is excellent. The owners are friendly and so eager to please. The grounds are beautiful. Fire pits for those Valley nights. Pool and jacuzzi well maintained. Rooms have been updated. Beds comfortable. Amenities in room are nice. Breakfast included was good and fresh. Excellent for the price. Overall 4 stars.

I love how welcoming and friendly the staff is. The room we had was very clean and nicely decorated too. Breakfast was really good and the young lady who was in charge of breakfast went out of her way to pack us a breakfast for the next morning since we were leaving well before the breakfast hour. We will definitely come back!

We got rained out from our birthday camping in Big Sur. So we hightailed it out to Carmel Valley Village. Chris and Theresa were so accommodating. Got us set up in a three bedroom so each couple had a room. Super Chill place. May make this our new birthday “camping “ spot. Thanks Carmel Valley Lodge

Sophie says hello and we were all happy to have you visit with us again. We're so looking forward to Spring when all the flowers and trees bloom, the waterfall and lakes in Garland Park are active, wildlife singing their songs, and getting our Koi fish for the new pond. It will be here before we know it. Until we see you again, be well and stay happy.
