We just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at the Bernardus. It was our first overnight away since the pandemic began and I am glad we chose this property. The staff all wore masks ( and properly!), the guests wore masks as well and/or stayed socially distanced, tables and sitting areas all spaced far apart and they were even spraying down the lounge chairs at the pool each time someone left. So we felt very safe coming here. Our kids were so happy to be swimming at a pool again and the weather was just perfect. We did take out from Lucia restaurant one evening and it was very delicious and delivered still hot to our room. We had a premier double queen room, on the second floor, overlooking the mountains. My only compliant were the beds - I found the bedsheets to be a bit rough/thin considering the pricetag, the mattresses too soft and visibly sagging in the middle. Also, our room neighbors had friends over one night on their balcony until close to 10pm that I don't think should be allowed and should've been asked to take their convo to the bar or other outdoor common areas, since voices carry, plus they just sounded vapid with F bombs everywhere about everything.

Property is spread out with enough room to avoid other guests during Covid -19 pandemic. Management and guests adhered to safe social distancing and masks being worn. Dining was outdoors and the staff took precautions to serve guests using the best guidelines. We never felt vulnerable to others or other guests were disrespectful of the safety of others. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool area. We stayed for 3 nights and decided to pass on any room cleaning or turn down service to avoid contact within our room. Extra coffee and towels were delivered as requested. We did notice the decorator pillows on the sofa needed cleaning - a lot of dust - probably needs deep cleaning on occasion. But overall an excellent property and well managed. Guest service was wonderful

As a former salon and spa owner, I always love to acknowledge superior customer service and Bernardus does not disappoint! My husband Bill and I both retired in October and we decided to book a couple of days at Bernardus to celebrate. We had been to the resort many times over the years for massage and meals but had never stayed overnight. We were greeted with a glass of wine and an excellent desk staff. We had opted for one of the two Luxury Spa rooms (#1) and the room was amazing! Beautiful views of the mountains from our very private patio equipped with a jacuzzi, outdoor tables, chairs and a gate that lead to the incredible gardens. Don't miss the chance to discover the expansive landscape and creative design of these magical gardens. Inside, the room was impeccably appointed and all the treats provided were included in the price (wine, beer, soft drinks, breakfast bars, chocolates, crackers and cheese). The room is close to the lobby which makes it very convenient for meals at Lucia Restaurant. Each meal at Lucia was delicious and we loved both the outside and inside seating of this special restaurant. Kudos to our servers Kerry, Chris and especially Ariana (so sweet and very attentive). Also want to note Alyssa, our bus person who we chatted with both days...so nice. Special shout out to hostess Angelica who when we did not have a reservation on the second night, checked with the manager Chris who made sure we were seated even during a busy evening. Chris was so professional and we felt very special when he spent time connecting with us at our table. Even upon leaving the resort we encountered Jennifer, the housekeeping supervisor and had a delightful conversation with her...really appreciated her warm, friendly nature. Overall, this resort is uniquely meticulous in its attention to detail, efficiently run and the staff is exceptionally welcoming.
