This is a lovely small hotel in a lovely location. The rooms were not as luxurious as some I have stayed in, however, lovely soaps and lotions were provided for our use. The common areas of the hotel were lovely and comfortable. There was comfortable seating near a fireplace near the entrance and a view of the water in the...

This place was amazing and I wish we could have stayed longer. Carmel was an amazing place to begin with, but this little hotel is a gem. The service was over the top, great food, great amenities and a comfortable room to stay the night. We travelled with a 6 month old and we were worries when we saw the...

Great charming hotel with one of the best breakfasts. My family and I have now visited this hotel for the 4th year in a row and we always look forward to our stay. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to stay as a couple or family.

My husband and I were passing through here on our way from San Francisco to LA. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, room and bed were comfortable, and it is an absolutely gorgeous property. Breakfast was fabulous. Our only negative observation was that they are completely understaffed. They seem to run very lean and am not sure why, when it's...

This is the gem of a gem of a town that is Carmel. You immediately feel the richness of its history when you walk in the door. This is a hotel that was clearly built to endure and stand proud- from the fireplace in the lobby, to the covered patio aside the light filled breakfast room, to the woodwork surrounding...

My wife and I stayed here on an anniversary trip. The building and grounds are beautiful and display the character of an old, historical hotel. Over looking the ocean and its close proximity to the town center, the location is also very good. The service was good enough. The rooms have been updated, but were done on an average budget....

Best things about this hotel were the breakfast buffet, proximity to the beach and walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. We stay at a lot of boutique hotels and are accustomed to higher priced rooms however the costs of an ocean premiere king was exceptionally high for the size of room and yes we had ocean view but the...

La Playa Carmel is a beautiful diamond we discovered on our trip along the pacific coast. It is a quaint, special place. The service is friendly and welcoming. The champagne breakfast has lots of tasty options. The best part about our stay was falling asleep to the sounds of wave crashing along the coast. We would definitely recommend this place!

We were touring California for 28 days from the UK and staying at 8 different hotels, this was truly the best by far. Arrived, no problem parking despite some apprehension having read comments on TA. shown to our beautiful room with a pool and sea view, helped by porter with our 3 large cases and found the room much larger...
