The first day we had low power which meant no working coffee pot and very low lights to dress and shower. housekeeping made up the couch in our room and I asked 3 times for them not to but they left in made up for 3 days!!! Beware of the charges for Activities they don't tell you the fees when you sign up. The ax throwing class was $65.00 and Bath bomb class $65.00 WOW expensive. also remember you pay a resort fee of $45.00 everyday. that really adds up if you're a family.

Traveled for a one night stay with my husband and two other couples to celebrate wedding anniversaries. This was a perfect spot to celebrate and we will return! The rooms were roomy and comfortable. Loved the fireplace in the bedroom and the balcony view (it was too cold and rainy to sit outside on it, but that didn't matter). Slept comfortably and happily (so nice and quiet there). We brought out electric car and they have plug-ins available (thank you!). I enjoyed roaming the property in the afternoon and early morning, surprising a herd of deer and some adorable small bunnies. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our friends enjoyed the tubs overlooking the valley. Breakfast was fabulous-- do get the scones! We dined in Carmel, so can't speak for the dinner. Since we went in the winter, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Did I mention how nice the staff were?

Dear SueBirk, That was such a nice comment! Thank you. Like you, I think there is nothing like a nice warm fireplace on a cold day, so Carmel Valley Ranch is perfect in that regard. One of the beauties of being on a ranch that is so spread out is that even when we're full - as we were during your stay, you don't really feel crowded - except for the abundant wildlife, which is everywhere. We hope you'll come back again one day soon and stay a bit longer next time. Thank you for staying with us.

We moved here after a disappointing stay for one night at La Playa in Carmel town. It was chalk and cheese. A generous suite comprising a lounge area (with a kettle which is unusual for the US), bedroom, huge bathroom and an outside deck overlooking the valley. It is set in a large golf complex plus there are other sporting facilities if that is what you want. We did have a few technical issues with the lights - the system seemed over complicated and the bathroom lights failed on our last day but very comfortable few days. we only ate there once - lunch and they completely messed up my husbands order which was not complicated in the first place and then took a long time to correct it. They did discount the bill by way of apology but we would rather have had a nice lunch at full price. Nice pool facility with plenty of space and umbrellas

Our whole experience was fantastic. The suite we stayed in has two fireplaces and was very comfortable and beautiful views of the whole resort. The level of service we recieved was impeccable, I mention to Brent and Terry at the golf course for going out of their way for my wife and myself. There is so much to do here and the resort is beautiful. I would recommend Carmel Valley ranch to anyone traveling in this area.

Review collected in partnership with this hotel
After turning up to another Inn in Carmel Valley and walking straight out we were fortunate enough to find room at Carmel Valley Ranch. It is very expensive but the accommodation, facilities and service are second to none. You will not regret staying here, everything is so chic and classy and even with little ones you will find time to relax. CVR made our west coast trip really special.
