We came to Carmel with the sole purpose of going to the Refuge Spa. This hotel was conveniently located less than 5 minutes drive from Refuge and Carmel-by-the-sea. It's also right next to the Barnyard shopping center as well as across from Crossroads. We didn't even have to drive and can walk to Barnyard for food and groceries. We got...

Nice modern hotel with exceptional service. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Temecula for a wedding. We both were impressed by the cleanliness, comfort of the beds, and the modern decor. Very nice hotel.

Reasonably priced, fun decor, very clean and good location sums it up. Yes, it is not in downtown Carmel, but it is only a 5 minute drive. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The restaurant and lounge on site is good for breakfast (we didn't go to dinner here). Pool and very big hot tub looked inviting but it was...

Don't be fooled by the photos, only a few rooms look like they do in the pictures from ages ago. The rest of the rooms have a stuffy moldy smell, disguised with artificial carpet scents. We were SNEEZING non-stop from strong chemical residues. Hope you enjoy allergies and chemicals! They also trick you with deceptive text on their websites -...

My initial response to this review is that it is the most dishonest we have ever read. We asked that our guests read this to gain some useful insights. Now for the facts. When Reina Shyu was registering as a guest all was going fine until the front desk agent asked her to sign the registration form. There is a...

I visited the Carmel area for 4 days of winter seascape photography and this location provided easy access to the best spots between Carmel and Big Sur. The room was spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and the restaurant has the most amazing crab crepes for breakfast. For dinner, one member of our party had many food allergies and...

A family member wanted to stay here so I agreed and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, awesome pool, nice grounds, convenient to many things and just an overall nice feel. Don't be put off by the location next to a shopping center and behind a gas station... you can walk to Starbucks Safeway and a lot of great restaurants and...

As usual the checkin was smooth, rooms were clean and our stay was wonderful. Looks like they have changed from a buffet type breakfast to a order off the menu deal. Service was great once we were recognized coming into the dining room. Staff seem preoccupied with activities in the kitchen rather than having at least one person out in...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over a busy weekend in July. Our family of four (kids age 11 and 12) crammed into one basic room. Typically we get 2 rooms, but the rates at this hotel over the weekend were cost prohibitive. The hotel appeared to be completely booked while we were there. As a result it was...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. It seems like you stayed during our annual Carmel High School debate weekend. These boys and girls can get a bit rambunctious during this time. As far as insulation goes our buildings are poured in place concrete and for the most part are very soundproof. We sincerely appreciate your business...

I generally stop here at least twice a year while visiting Carmel and the Monterey Aquarium. The staff has always been very friendly, helpful, and the rooms have always been very clean and well maintained. My only negative experience has during my last stay, in dealing with a very snotty desk clerk..

We stay 2 nights here while visiting Carmel/Monterey area. I chose this hotel based on good reviews, price, and location. This hotel is NOT in the downtown area of Carmel-by-the-sea. However, it only takes 3 minutes to drive and was really not a big deal at all. You can easily see the hotel is old and has gone through renovations....
