#18 of 25 B&Bs / Inns in Carmel
The Vendange Carmel Inn has just been recently been renovated this month. We are doing a pre-opening starting now to showcase our new rooms with brand new furniture and brand new bathrooms as well. We have an exquisite pergola area and Wi-Fi that access all the buildings now. We have fixed the noise issues during the renovation process as guests reviews have told us both were a major issue. Now our rooms are very elegant, modern, and very tasteful with a special theme. Please come in and check them out!

What a great find Vendange is! Clean, up to date, quiet and so convenient just off Hwy. 68 outside Pebble Beach and near Carmel proper. Simply delightful! And rightly priced! Wish we were staying longer it is so comfortable. Proprietors very friendly and helpful. Be sure to arrive before 8pm as the office closes.

You get what you pay for, I should have known that $140 on a Friday night would get a place that was comfortable but having certain idiosyncrasies that are characteristics of remodeled motels from the 1960s. Expect to hear people climbing the stairs, and hearing conversations through the walls until 2:00am. However, the room was comfortable and had a huge flat screen. Bathroom had mildew around the window. Breakfast was not served even though it was listed as included on the room detail.

I was looking for a reasonable place to stay in Carmel with my teenage daughter for one night. This is an older hotel that has been updated and the rooms are quite nice. The problem with this location is it is on a main road which is heavily trafficked. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the traffic, to the person next-door snoring. Our room was above the main office and we could hear everything they were saying on the telephone. When we went to check in, I arrived about 11:30am & the Office was locked with a note on the door to call. I called and they told me that our room was not ready & to check back between 1 and 2. The office also closes at 8 PM, so just be aware. The carpeting outside the rooms is very worn but when we got to the room, the room is nice. It was clean, the bed is comfy & includes a coffee maker, hair dryer and toiletries. The grounds have beautiful flowers and there is a fire pit although it was not being used while we were there perhaps because of the virus outbreak. Also the parking lot is tiny.

The wifi is pretty bad here and the office hours are sporadic. There is no breakfast or wine tasting right now due to Covid. The location is fine, but the road in front of the hotel seems to be a major thoroughfare for loud trucks. Get a room in the back!

Was looking for a reasonably priced stay in Carmel for our 20th anniversary. The Vendage came through price wise, but you need to be clear on what type of room you want. The descriptions on website are vague. As far as king rooms, it lists king room, king suite and then king suite deluxe. We booked a king suite deluxe hoping for the nicest room type available, and arrived on a Thursday. The weekend was sold out, so I figured since we were checking in ahead of the weekend crowd, we would get a nicer room. The man who checked us in...I asked him for a room away from the road, he said nothing else was available. I didn't see any other cars in the lot, so I question that. When we got to the room, we were immediately greeted with a strong musty odor, a broken fireplace and a teeny room, with the bathroom right off the bedroom. No couch and coffee table, like pictured. We wanted this so we could sit and eat our take out since we are in covid times. I called and asked the man if we could change to a room with a couch. He said there were no couches in the rooms. Hmmmm. I told him I saw pictures of the couches in rooms and he said "those are pull out couches" uhhh, okay...weird since when I have friends over I don't say "have a seat on my pullout couch..." right? Anyhow, next day I went back and spoke with a lady, who I think is the owner and was very nice and helpful and moved us to a bigger and much nicer room--room 218. Here is what I did not like: guy telling me there were no couches, small rooms, musty smell, bathroom sink kept backing up and there are no mattress pads on the beds, just a sheet. Kind of really gross if you ask me. I could hear through the walls really well, so if you want total privacy, might not be for you. Here is what I liked: Cute place, clean--except the lack of mattress pad, bed sheet situation. Nice surroundings, beautiful gardens, quiet--despite thin walls--we got lucky everyone went to bed early. Lady during the day is nice. Cute place with a lot of potential, but they need to get it together as far as their room descriptions and making sure customers get what they want. Parking lot is small, but its manageable. Yes, it's not in the business district area, but it's a 5 minute drive, no big deal. Road is a bit noisy, but not too bad.
