We were two couples, each with a dog, and were given lovely rooms that shared a private terrace. Randy greeted us and was a wealth of helpful information on the area and restaurants. It was an easy walk to the dog-friendly beach, shops and restaurants where you could really get the feel of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Rooms were attractive, updated and we...

We felt so welcomed here at this hotel. It is walking distance to beach and just half block from Ocean St. shops, yet tucked into fairly quiet neighborhood. Our room was spacious and had fireplace. We were treated to wine, cheese, and nuts each evening. A breakfast basket was delivered to our room each morning including hot breads, yogurt, juice,...

The Monte Verde is a charming hotel in the middle of Carmel. It is very well situated, close to the coffee shop, restaurants and beach. On the weekend they offer wine and cheese to the guest which was a great surprise and a fun way to interact with other guests. Our room was a bit small, but we we were...

The charm and beauty of this delightful inn is only outshined by the impeccable and thoughtful service of Kate and Casey during our stay. We chose Monte Verde Inn intentionally, with other family members, to revisit a location my parents had long loved during their lives. Every detail and convenience is attended to with grace by the owners. Private, on...

I spent a delightful evening at Monte Verde Inn. My room was small, but who spends time in their room in Carmel. It had a skylight which made it right and cheery. It also opened on to a small private patio to enjoy the wonderful Carmel weather. This is not as fancy as its sister property , the Cypress Inn...

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, the staff were friendly and helpful. Kate and Casey were personable and available. All of the little touches in our suite made it immediately feel welcoming and warm. The continental breakfast, delivered to our room, was a wonderful start for our day. It was close to shopping and restaurants. The beach...

We had a great stay at this adorable inn in Carmel. Our room was perfectly decorated and comfortable. The fireplace added warmth and ambience and the bathroom was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was perfect! We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Kate and Casey!

We stayed at MVI for two nights as the last stop on our California road trip - in hindsight we wish we had stayed a little longer! The town itself is incredibly quaint with lovely shops and restaurants. MVI is equally quaint and has been tastefully decorated with thoughtful gestures such as free coffee, cookies, water and sherry. The hand-delivered...

The sign at reception says it all "May all who enter as guests leave as friends". The management & staff and in particular Randy were fantastic, he helped with restaurant bookings and recommendations all of which more than met our expectations. The breakfast basket delivered each morning was a nice homely touch, the rooms are beautiful, clean and inviting, the...

Vintage and quaint inn. We tried many inns for lodging but none had the weekend days we were looking for. Only the Monte Verde had space. My advice is to look at all your options and book early. My first choice would have been the Pine Inn. We booked the upper level condo apartment. Spacious with queen bed and it...
