We had a wonderful stay at the Adobe Inn. The staff was very helpful from the moment of check-in to the check-out. The underground parking is a big asset. It's close to the main drag, Ocean Street, but a couple of blocks away. It's walking distance to the beach and many amenities. The suite was beautiful with two balconies and two baths. The décor was updated and pleasant. I highly recommend it and we will definitely return.

We stayed at the Adobe years ago and as others have noted it has fallen into decline. Friendly and efficient check in and a good location in downtown Carmel. Our room had a loose overhead recessed light and stains were noted on the carpet. The bathroom floor had patched uneven tiles and wood dryrot was noted on the interior bathroom window shelf. Our 2nd story room had an ocean view but the sliding balcony door was heavy and difficult to open. The mirror closet door came off the track during opening. With all the many other property options available we wont be returning to the Adobe Inn anytime soon.

The check in process with quick and fast. We got room #23 and were surprised to get actual metal keys instead of digital keys. The room was spacious but smelled musty so we opened the screen door to the balcony to air it out. It looked like they had recently cleaned the carpets but the carpets are old and in need of new carpets, you can still see dark stains all around. Forgot that this Inn allow pets so you know for sure those were pet stains. The balcony was large but the view was blocked by roofs so we couldn't see to the ocean at all. The King size bed was nice, plenty of sheets and pillows (4) but in need of an extra thicker comforter. The bathroom had a new toilet but older and small tub. The floor in the bathroom is really cold so make sure you do not walk in there with no shoes on. The bathroom flooring is old with dark grout and needs an update, the bathroom fan only worked if you put it on a timer and then these super bright, burning lights came on too. We loved that they provided robes and there was a gas fireplace. Plus that they had plenty of parking underground. Inn was in a central area, 6 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks from shopping plaza and food. The leather sofa loveseat was nice along with the extra office table. The outdoor garden areas were beautiful. Need new walls/paint/wall paper, or at least clean the walls, there were dirty marks on the walls in the hallway to the bathroom. Overall the Inn needs an upgrade or renovation. Its such a cute, quaint place and deserves a facelift. There is no microwave, so that should also be a must have in this Inn. Note: there is no A/C either, only heater since its by the coast I guess they figure they don't need A/C. Checkout lady was super nice and friendly.

Such nice people working there! Could not wish more from our stay in an hotel during this pandemic. The room was so clean and spacious. They made us feel safe and welcome. I highly recommended Adobe Inn to my friends already who are planning a stay in the next weeks as well. Also, the hotel has a warm pool, big enough to relax... and the beach and restaurants are walking distance. Thank you again Adobe Inn Team. -Sarah P.

We loved our all too brief stay at this lovely hotel. We were in room 28 with a balcony and view of the ocean. It was huge and gorgeous! This place is so charming, very kind to our kids, and perfectly located to be able to walk everywhere. The staff was attentive and you can tell that they care.
