Very quiet location and close to the beach. We were in Carmel for the crazy car week, so getting away from all the people and congestion was very nice. Helpful staff, nice room with an ocean view. Hard to beat!

Great location -very short walk to Carmel Beach. Nice neighborhood location. Beautiful gardens on the hotel property. Easy access to Ocean Avenue shops and restaurants. Rooms each have their individual character.

You couldn't find a better location in Carmel if you want to beach walk, hike, visit Tor House, go birding, or walk to town. You're close to the action, but not surrounded by hordes of tourists (which is what we are). This historic place has always been a hotel, but yikes, I think they need to work on some of... More

We stayed in a nice junior suite with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace, small kitchenette and partial view of the ocean. I was surprised the hotel is located in an upscale residential area, but we enjoyed walking around the beach and the neighborhood. It's a pleasant walk to a great shopping area and the Carmel Mission.

Best location near the beach and nestled into one of Carmel's most quaint locations. Just minutes into town. Comfort and serenity. Thoughtful accommodations and excellent service from staff. Delicious choices for breakfast, served in comfort of their great room/reception. Newspapers, fireplace and cookies too!

Best lil get away. Upon arrival you will be pleased by the sheer beauty of the gardens. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Bed was ultra comfortable. Bathroom clean, a lil dated but super clean. The fireplace made this room feel extra cozy

Loved the location of the hotel, just steps away from the beach, which we took full advantage of by heading there right after check in, and later that night after our dinner at Little Napoli (10-15 min walk from hotel to downtown). The grounds make you feel as if you are in an english garden tranquility. The rooms (i was able... More

Colonial Terrace is my favorite place to stay in Carmel for a number of reasons. It is a bit removed from the busiest part of town but is only a block from the ocean. It is an awesome older inn with endearing character. The bed was comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The fireplace was a bit hokey and not... More

I love the location because it makes you feel like you are part of the Carmel community since it is among the residents instead of the main street. The tranquility the location provides and easy access to the beach is phenomenal. We never have trouble finding our way when we go.

This was a wonderful place to stay. A very short walk to the beach. The property landscaping was lovely, the atmosphere delightful, peaceful, relaxing. The room we were in was average bedroom size but was clean with comfortable bedding. Would love to return this property in Carmel.
