My husband and I came down to Carmel for a spur-of-the-moment getaway. We were pleased with the location of the property and accommodations were what you'd expect for the price in Carmel. We were in a room facing the courtyard and could still hear the ocean waves (with the windows open). The room was quite small and a bit outdated,... More

Carmel has gotten brutally expensive over the years, but the Colonial Terrace remains a relatively good value. The property is a little off the beaten path, but a stone's throw away from the ocean. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The family we placed here for a wedding were thrilled with the location, the hotel, the outstanding staff, a truly wonderful experience. The beach is a short walk and they were able to watch dolphins which only enhanced the trip.

Enjoyed the location first, grounds & quiet peaceful setting. We stayed in the street view room which was small but we knew that ahead of time. We walked to beach & road bikes up Scenic Blvd. Enjoyed the beach chairs & towels provided by B&B. Great romantic get away. We usually stay at Marriot but decided we wanted quaint setting... More

Wonderful place to stay with a close walk to the beach. We will be back, and love the charm this place has. My wife made me promise to bring her back soon. the nights on the beach have places to have fires.

The property is in a lovely garden setting, with a peak of the ocean from the courtyard. When we first entered our room - Cottage 6, it smelled very musty and "old." The room should be sprayed with something scented by housekeeping. I would return to the property due to the location, but never stay in Cottage 6 - it... More

Room 21A was the best. Would always want that room for future stays. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Location (one block from beach) is excellent and tucked away from the middle of town and all the confusion and hassle. Views superb.

We arrived to a very well kept building. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and greeted us with coffee and cookies. The room was extremely well presented. The breakfast had a lot to choose from. We had a great stay.

Colonial Terrace has beautiful grounds, charming cottages, and a wonderful staff. The breakfast, included in the price, included bagels, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit,, coffee, tea, and juices. It is a short, healthy walk from downtown Carmel.

This is my first time in a cute, B&B style motel. No it's not a B&B. I would not normally stay in a small motel like this. The rooms are dated, vinyl floor tiles in the bathroom, low toilet, paper thin walls & no air conditioning; so if you are lucky enough to have a room facing a road you... More
