I stayed one night, and made my reservation through Hotel Tonight. I decided to take a last minute trip to Carmel during the week and booked my room through Hotel Tonight, which provides great last-minute rates at a variety of properties. When I checked-in, I was told the room rate was for a small room, off the driveway, next to... More

Wonderful experience that transported me back to my childhood; the smell of the garden in the morning, the architecture with its attention to 1950's detail. Loved every second of my stay. Hope to visit again soon.

Everything was great. The location is perfect. Super close to the beach and in a wonderful neighborhood. The staff is super friendly and they treat you like you're an esteemed guest, not just any guest. We'll definitely be coming back in the future.

Well managed, well organized, clean. View of ocean from room is minimal and perhaps overstated in the publicity, but it's only a short walk to get there. There is actually a whole street and row of buildings between the hotel and the beach; we had thought it was on the beach. But we still loved the place and would go... More

I appreciate that it is summer in Carmel and prices are high but I was not impressed. The location is nice and the exterior grounds are attractive. My criticisms are these. The room looks old and very little attempt has been made to make it cozy. The artwork on the walls is without thought. The lamps and chairs look old... More

Old bathrooms. Ocean view is a glimps Common areas and trash bins overflowing. Breakfast in reception very basic and insufficient seating. Reception activities, employee interviews (including discussions of urine tests) conducted in clear view and hearing of guests trying to have breakfast.. Couldn't get a car park on site near our room and had to park in the street a... More

Such a charming little inn. The gardens were in full bloom. The rooms were spotless. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The inn is just a block off the beach. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Great property and kind staff add to a location a couple blocks form the Carmel Bay and beautiful quiet walks. Serene, peaceful... just what we needed to relax and day trip the beautiful coastline from Monterey down to Big Sur and beyond.

The property location is good - if your sole purpose is to visit the Beach. If you wish to imbibe in other attractions, then best to find something that is closer to Ocean Ave. The biggest issue my wife and I had with the place was the state of its rooms. The lobby is small but neat. The rooms, whole... More
