very quaint hotel and a great price for normally expensive Carmel - about $139 for a queen room with a fireplace. It looks just like the photos - like an old English cottage with moss on the thatched roof. checking in was easy, the courtyards are very nice - room was nice - larger than I expected. fireplace was a...

The rooms are small and noisy despite being told otherwise by the hotel staff. Mattresses would need an update/remodeling and the breakfast is very basic. Booking this place we got assured a discount for AAA members, but at check-out the very rude staff rejected the discount and told us there is absolutely nothing she can do about this any longer....

PROs: wonderful setting, close to the beach, at the edge of the shopping area, full of flowers and clearly a place where they care for embellishment. Rooms are quite large but you may want to select a 1st floor room, to get more privacy and higher, under-the-roof ceiling. CONs: the poor breakfast is comparable to any US inn standard (far...

The hotel is in a great location to both beach and local restaurants. The rooms were average size and they did a real nice job when renovated rooms. Our room was quiet even though we were near pool area. The room was clean and bed was firm but very comfortable. They hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds...

The Normandy Inn, opened in 1921, has an architectural style typical to the Carmel of the era, namely that of an English country village. The property has been meticulously maintained and functions very well in all departments, from check-in to maintenance and housekeeping, thanks to manager Sandra. The beds are comfortable, the towels are good, and the breakfast room remains...

Our first time to visit this inn and especially thankful for others who reviewed it on Trip Advisor. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the staff, facilities and location which is basically less then a block from all the shopping and wine tasting in Carmel downtown. We had one of the rooms with a fireplace which burns dura logs...

I took an overnight trip to Carmel with my daughter and we stayed in a very nicely remodeled room at the Normandy Inn. It is a very quaint little hotel right on the main drag. Easy to walk to restaurants, shopping and the beautiful beach. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and comfy. Great place to...

We stayed a week at the Normandy in a very nice room, 107. Large, very convenient and a little unusual because it had both a powder room and a bathroom/shower room in separate corners of the suite. I actually worked well for my wife and I. We saw several other rooms that had fireplaces which ours did not. The furniture...

Rooms and cottages at the end of the main town center of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a standard room (king bed). It was a very basic room, nothing too fancy - tv, small fridge, coffee maker & supplies, small table with two chairs, iron & ironing board. Pros: 1) I would give it a walk score of 100!...
