This place is run by some very unethical people . They took our money for the pool house when the pool wasn’t even open. The place is crammed on weekends with 150 at a time, not exactly social distancing. We weren’t comfortable with this. We asked for a refund days before we were even supposed to check in when we discovered this and they refuse to refund our money. Don’t stay there!

Friendly host. Peaceful, quiet location. Clean and warm cabin. Great hiking tracks. Isolated and zen but only a 10min drive to the town centre. Full kitchen facilities in the cabin. Thank you for the enjoyable stay.

After reading the negative reviews I felt obligated to let others know this is a great place to stay. The grounds were clean, well optioned, and the staff was super friendly. Our two boys enjoyed the playground and they have lounge areas w fireplaces all around so adults can sit and have a cocktail while kiddos play. We had a lot of fun and stayed extra time. We rented an RV site for our trailer, a cabin for some visiting family, and also a luxury text for my father, so we got to see it all. We also had our lab with us who tends to walk away when not watched and even when he wondered, everyone was super chill about it. The road to get to the campground is pretty narrow so if you can’t handle towing a trailer on a country road this place isn’t for you - and quite honestly maybe you shouldn’t have a trailer. The entrance for the campground is also a bit narrow and steep but if you know how to drive it’s not that big a deal. We were in a long bed F250 towing a 28’ airstream and made it work. When you get to the top of the entrance it’s also a little tight to swing into the campground. And will require careful maneuvering when you back into your site but once again, if you’re a responsible trailer owner you should be able to do this just fine. When we arrived I was tired and it was dark and since my wife and I had not worked together backing up (dumb mistake) it was a little hectic just bc we couldn’t communicate well together. It was taking a while and a camp host came over and helped my wife and guided me right in. Super friendly guy! We were also there to witness a fancy pants (that likely had more money than sense) driving a rover w a brand new 28’ airstream that couldn’t maneuver that thing if his life depended on it. Same guy that helped us came over and helped him out, and even though the driver was making constant mistakes and having to try over and over and over, the camp host stayed calm and was quite nice about it. I’ve got to say that for all the retards these people must encounter it was pleasant stay in a nice area with nice staff. I’d certainly come back again.

This place has a great customer service. We made reservation for 3 night stay and later on had to cancel due to a family emergency. Even though they have a restrict cancelation policy that we agreed on, they went out of their way and refunded us completely! That is rare customer service these days!!

We come to Saddle Mountain three or four times a year. We primarily come because you are minutes from Carmel and its beach and dining and for the awesome 5+ mile hike up the mountain with our dogs through an enchanted grove with Spanish Moss, along a switchback trail with views most of the way culminating at the promontory overlooking the ocean. Cannot be beat! The service is adequate, multiple bathrooms are always clean and pool always sparkles. RV sites are tight but it's a pretty peacefull place. Tent sites are more private and interesting. Yes the road is is a bit narrow but we have never had a problem with out 26 foot Class A. Over 33 feet might have some difficulty. Wi-Fi sucks but we usually use our phone as Mobil hot spot anyway as reception is good. We RV a lot in CA and this is our go to place for a relaxing weekend.
