Detailed Reviews

We were seeking a budget conscious accommodation that was not a branded hotel . We found it here . Cozy cabin with fireplace. Clean and walkable to beautiful downtown Carmel. Met our expectations. Saw several maintenance men working on exterior grounds and buildings - seems like new owners are on site . I hope they repair the koi pond. Drop the “ resort” name . It’s not .

We had the pleasure of staying at the Carmel Resort Inn in February and we enjoyed our stay. The fella at the check in window was friendly and helpful and the grounds were nice and peaceful. Our room was very spacious and very clean. The bed was comfy and the fireplace was a very nice touch to our room. The price was fair for the Carmel area and it was fully booked which says something about the property. Thank you kindly, Kenny N.

Overpriced for what it was. It’s rustic, not mobility friendly, didn’t use shower, the room was freezing, spare blanket was used, gas fire was turned on.
The major drawback is the thinnesses of the walls, we could hear our neighbour laughing and moving furniture, we could hear them walking around. I highlighted my concern with the front desk/reception, it made no difference, the reception did offer me a refund however as I was travelling with my elderly mum I was concerned about getting another place to stay locally.
Tea & coffee in the room, bed is big & comfortable

This place is bottom of the barrel. Poor service, made to feel unwelcome. Only one car parking allowed.( even for rooms with two queen beds.
Tv doesn't turn on.
No full length mirror. Microwave and fridge but no popcorn or snacks or drinks in fridge. Rooms are outdated and could easily update their bathroom sinks & countertops at a low cost to them for what it charges. Not happy and would not recommend.

To be fair, I paid $99 per night with two nights prepaid. I left after one night and was not reimbursed for the second night. The rooms are clean but not charming. They are old and you get what you pay for. I had no hot water and the WiFi is pretty bad, which evidently is stated on the website. They also charge a $30 per fee per night. Don’t expect much when you choose to stay here. There are better places in Carmel.

This place seems to be in a constant state of repair, as before reviewing I glanced at some of the older reviews, and pictures of wood and debris scattered about the property are still there!
We wanted to bring my mother-in-law here as we absolutely love Carmel, and we were drawn to this place because they had a suite with 2 separate bedrooms. We paid over $400, and it was absolutely not worth it. The controls for the temperature didn't seem to respond. The room overall seemed very dirty, The floors were dirty. Nobody wanted to even try to shower, and we all decided to wait until our next stop to clean up.

Stayed here since we wanted somewhere inexpensive in Carmel. I was pleasantly surprised that rooms more individual cabins which I preferred. Rooms are rustic so don't expect modern, sleek. Bed comfy but bathroom needs a bit updating. I liked that we were able to park our cars right outside the cabin and we even had a fire pit where we sat out by the fire. Would be back here again since within 6 blocks walking distance to downtown and price.

The place is a dump. I was told by the mgr t'he owner doesn't want to put $ into the property."
He's achieved his goal.
The furniture is worn, the walls need to be painted, grounds unkempt.
The unit was clean to be fair and the mgr is pleasant.

The property is located within a walk of downtown (probably 8 blocks). Their rates are very reasonable for the area. It is comprised of several small cottages. Most have a parking spot next to the cottage. There is a nice patio area in the center of the complex. The cottages were old but were clean. The inside was nothing fancy but the bed was nice and comfortable, (good TV, microwave and fridge). They are pet friendly with a nice area to exercise the dog. Definitely worth it.

On a long road trip. The resort is actually cabins in a residential area. Our room was rustic with mismatched furniture an old fashioned bathroom. The room was clean. Also the rate was reasonable. This is not a resort, bit if you want very basic accommodation that is clean this place is fine.

Yes, our room had a hair dryer in the bathroom.
