The only place to stay in Carmel if you love dogs! Welcoming staff, warm and elegant setting, great service, and dogs galore! Just like staying with family! Love the lights outlining the Inn, especially for the holidays! We will definitely come again.

We had a lovely stay at the Cypress Inn. The accommodations were great and location is perfect. Carmel is a lovely city and the white sand beach was a treat. We saw dolphins off the coast line! The free continental breakfast had the freshest fruit and lovely popovers. The food in restaurant was great and priced well. Always a treat...

The Cypress Inn is a gorgeous, Spanish colonial hotel with Mediterranean touches. The high end service is impeccable (valets & bellmen), there is a fun and lively bar, with old-world charm. Best of all, it's also a dog-lovers mecca! Dogs are treated with the utmost respect and care, equal to the human guests. Carmel is also an incredible dog-friendly town,...

Must love dogs, otherwise avoid. Queen beds were really smaller twin beds. No tea or coffee in room or lobby. No parking except pricey, inconvenient valet parking. Mobbed on weekends with visitors. Local Inns-By-the-Sea inns a much better value, especially with children.

Could be a delightful hotel., full of great atmosphere, trading on the past though. Nice staff, bedrooms and bathrooms in need of investment. Food fine. Location great. Can walk everywhere. Main lounge delightful and in summer can eat outside. Trading on past and its owner. Lots of dogs. Don't go there if you don't like them

Everything about this hotel is the right idea especially if you are traveling with a dog or two. However, much fun we had - the rooms are sorely in need of an update. The bathrooms are tiny and the windows are single pane which lets in the cold which can be offset by an old noisy radiator. That said, we had...

This was our first trip to Carmel. We always come to California this time of year. We stay in a new location every year for 3 nights and then head to LA for 4 nights. We chose Carmel because it's known as being dog friendly. Even though we weren't bringing ours we love being around them. The location of the...

It is always an experience to stay at the Cypress Inn. This was the first time I have stayed w/o a dog. I don't know whether I would do that again. I feel the breakfast in the morning could improve. The fresh fruit served was a little old. Also the scrambled eggs were bland.

The Inn and staff were exceptional. It was one of our best hotel experiences and we will return during our next visit to Carmel. Terry's lounge was great and the staff and live entertainment was exceptional

Wow! Cypress Inn is such a beautiful place. We are so pleased we selected Cypress Inn as we did not know for sure what to expect being from the East Coast. What a historical piece of history. The special touches were great and you felt like a valued guest. Thank you for a romantic backdrop to our California getaway!
