Only spent one night in this lovely B&B, and it was perfect. Clean, quaint, and tended by people that really care. Being gardeners, we loved the succulent gardens which added to the ambience. The room was a nice size, and like everyone else, found the bed amazing. We highly recommend this special B & B.

Dennis, our Innkeeper, is a past president of the Carmel Orchid Society, a volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and is creating our gardens to be in sync with our drought conditions in California; hence his emphasis on succulents. He especially appreciated your comments in your review. Thank you for staying with us. All of us here at the Inn...

The Carmel Garden Inn was an amazing way to commemorate our first wedding anniversary. In addition to it being our anniversary vacation, this trip was also our first time visiting Carmel and staying at a Bed and Breakfast. The Carmel Garden Inn exceeded all of our expectations. With its charming welcome sign and beautiful flower garden that greet you as...

I am humbled by your praise! Thank you so very much for your words. Each day I awaken with enthusiasm to come here to our Inn from our home in Monterey, a ten minute drive. Mary frequently says how much she misses the Inn and our guests on her days off; Curtis always arrives cheerful and ready to start prepping...

My husband and I stayed at the Garden Inn for two nights and out of the 9 days we spent driving down the west coast, those in Carmel were the most romantic and authentic of them all. And part of it was thanks to our stay at Carmel Garden Inn. We had a very warm welcome to the hotel. It...

Thank you! In owning and operating 17 Inns from Cambria to Monterey and Carmel, I have always been tempted to 'fix the place up'. In reviewing my successes and less than successful decisions, one thread is present in all the really fine choices I have made: respect the hotel for what it is...then just make it work...do not change it...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Carmel Garden Inn and would definitely recommend it. The gardens are lovely! Our room was spacious with a couch, fireplace, comfortable beds and pillows, separate area with table, small refrigerator, and coffee maker and had a private patio which we really enjoyed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was...

We certainly appreciate your excellent review and comments. When we purchased the Inn in March 2013, Susan (my wife) Dennis (our Innkeeper) our housekeeping staff had all been with me in a previous Inn ownership in Carmel four years earlier. This time, we decided to go for as much quality as we could, providing great food, really fine beds, linens,...

An old hotel being rejuvenated by new owners. The beds are excellent. Room decor is dated as are bathrooms, but all is very clean. Breakfast offers limited choices--e.g. granola plus a savory or sweet. Excellent location. Owners are super chatty and want to provide assistance. We had disturbed sleep because of guests partying until 2 am on patio of inn;...

We thank you for your review and comments on our beds. They are hand made locally and feature completely natural materials. And we appreciate your praise for our housekeeping staff. They work very hard to make the rooms very clean. We regret the inconsiderate guests partying and would have liked a call to our night person who would have put...

We loved our stay at this little locally owned hotel. The staff/owners were so kind and welcoming. For example, the owner dropped what he was doing to get us some coffee in the middle of the afternoon. We stayed in the violet room, which was decorated in a Victorian style. Here are the pros and cons of our stay: Pros:...

We so appreciate your review and thank you for staying with us. We value our Inn for many of the reasons you point out; especially the 1949 period in which it was built as garden apartments, converted to an Inn in the fifties. In doing our renovations since our purchase in 2013, we have attempted to balance between making everything...

The staff was very helpful and they even hoisted our country flag for our visiting days. Rooms old and smelly, the "full breakfast" (as they mentioned) was a big disappointment - unless you are friend of light coffee, corn bread and cakes in the morning.

Our five patio suites have totally new bathrooms from basement to attic. All the patios are freshly painted. Our bistro dining rooms now serves a home made hot item changing each day for breakfast and we have added lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies right from the oven to our wine party. The wood for all ten fireplaces is seasoned pine and lights quickly, cracking with natural warmth to offset the summer foggy evenings in Carmel.
