It was adorable and welcoming! I recommend staying in the Lavender King Suite with the pull out bed. IT WAS ADORABLE and reminded me of a fairytale cottage. In addition you get a gated patio for added privacy or if you bring pets they can go in and out as they please. The fireplace is cleaned out daily and everything...

Thank you for staying with us and thank you so very much for sharing your and your Mom's energy and wonderful spirit...and of course your stories. We all love to eat and enjoy talking about our village and all the neat things to do and see. Keeping all the wood burning fireplaces in all the rooms was a hard sell...

The location was nice. We just left our car at the parking and could walk to everywhere in Carmel. The room was very clean and cute. We had a large room with a small kitchen and eating area, bedroom with a sofa, and ofcourse the patio with flowers. More than anything, the hosts/hostesses were so nice and thoughtful. We did...

We all so appreciate your words of praise for us and our Inn. Several critical choices were made when we bought the Inn in March 2013. First, make the gardens wonderful full of flowers and succulents. Second, retain the wood burning fireplaces in all ten rooms. Third, serve really good wine and food at our wine party and make our...

It's in the heart of Carmel so it's pricey, but less than most. Older furnishings but hey, it's a bed and breakfast inn. Very clean. We had a private patio, and our room had a fireplace with wood already stacked inside, just strike a match. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Beautiful garden setting. Highly recommended.

When we saw the Inn more than 3 years ago, we immediately overlooked the terrible furnishings, sagging beds, totally over grown garden areas with a healthy mix of weeds and Ivy, the rat infested kitchen...in other words we overlooked almost everything...knowing they could be fixed, repaired, replaced. What we did not overlook was all rooms had real wood-burning fireplaces, five...

We loved our one-night stay and hope to return. Innkeeper Julian made it a complete joy. Our room was charming and the breakfast was perfect. Julian offered very helpful advice for dining and sight seeing. Our wine and cheese welcome was great.

When we reflect (as we do frequently) on the many favorable reviews and guests' comments, we almost always remind ourselves as to why we are all so happy working and being here at our Inn: OUR GUESTS! Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write this review. See you again soon, Julian

I absolutely ADORE this place! This was my first time staying at a B&B, and I can definitely see why people would stay here. It's just as wonderful as a nice hotel! The staff at Carmel Garden Inn was so welcoming and friendly. They treated us like long-time friends! The lobby has a very quaint feel, and includes a dining...

Well...!!! Your words of praise are a wonderful testimony to the joy and happiness all of us who 'work' at our Inn feel almost every day. Mary says several times a month "I cannot wait to come to the Inn". Dennis literally 'plays' in the gardens and 'hosts' as our Innkeeper. Betty in her fine Mississippi charming fashion charms our...

Our Garden room, # 5, was perfect. Plenty of space, great mattress and a private patio. Wonderful breakfast, different every day, wine & cheese at early evening and very friendly people. The owners, Jason & Susan provide a wealth of local information & history as well. The location is just enough off the main street, Ocean Ave, to be quiet...

Thank you so much for your words of praise and appreciation. When we first looked at the Inn more than three years ago, it was in a good location, near to Ocean Ave. as you point out; however, the patio rooms' bathrooms, lobby and old living quarters (now our kitchen and dining room) were a disaster. The beds were a...

You are welcome with wine and nibbles and a lovely friendliness. The rooms have their own entrance via a nice garden. Each room with it's own garden gate, little garden area with chairs and table. The rooms are a nice size and very well presented. The continental breakfast is very good. You can easily walk to a restaurant but a...

We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. It has been an interesting challenge to preserve the original feeling of our Inn built in 1949 as apartments and yet make everything 'work'. We really appreciate your comments and look forward to having you stay with us again. Julian and all of us at our Inn

We stayed at the Carmel Garden in for just one night (6/20/16) but we could have made a vacation there. It's a late 1940's, early 1950's vibe there, but so well done. Some of the rooms are small, but that's how it was back in the day. Ours was not, it even had it's own private patio. The people that...

Having purchased my first motel in 1966 in Monterey (six units) and subsequently owned 17 motels and Inns/B&Bs in and around the Monterey Peninsula, I have become accustomed to saying to prospective purchasers of hotels "Give the guests more than a room in which to comfortably sleep...give them an experience." Your kind words especially "it's the whole package, room, staff,...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Carmel Garden Inn. The innkeepers were helpful, enthusiastic, and kind, and the breakfast was wonderful. We loved the location (close to everything!) and the room was clean, lovely, and useful. We will definitely stay at the Carmel Garden Inn the next time we visit Carmel!

In a word "THANKYOU!" For staying with us, for your review and for being so enthusiastic about being in Carmel. Thank you so much for your review and staying with us again. Mary often comments how much she looks forward to coming to work, as do we all. Our five patio suites have totally new bathrooms from basement to attic. All the patios are freshly painted. Our bistro dining rooms now serves a home made hot item changing each day for breakfast and we have added lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies right from the oven to our wine party. The wood for all ten fireplaces is seasoned pine and lights quickly, cracking with natural warmth to offset the summer foggy evenings in Carmel.
