I have Stayed at Lincoln Green for at least the last 7 years. I feel it is time for a update on their furnishings in the cottages. They are lovely and very comfortable but like all things it comes a time for updates. I am sure this will happen soon. Julie, the manager is wonderful to work with. Very accommodating to your needs. They truly make you feel at home during your stay. Breakfast served every morning to your cottage is wonderful. I highly recommend Lincoln Green. They are GREAT.

My husband and I and our two pugs spent a few nights in the Little John cottage for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. We've stayed in Carmel several times before but this was our first stay at Lincoln Green Inn. The grounds are lovely and the cottage was extremely well appointed. It was very clean, very inviting, and oh-so-comfortable. The breakfasts are nice - and brought to your door. It's just a short walk to the Carmel River State Beach and the trail. We will definitely be back to stay at Lincoln Green Inn.

Thoughtful attention to detail is a great indication an owner/manager takes pride in their operation. Our cottage had 2 types of coffee (including fresh beans from the owner's plantation in Hawaii), fully stocked kitchen, and a grill complete with charcoal, lighter fluid and matches. This is one of many examples. The location is mid-point between 2 beautiful beaches within an easy 10 min walk and the neighborhood looks like a Disney movie set. I'm reluctant to share this post as I know it will make finding available cottages more challenging in the future.

I first reviewed Lincoln Green Inn in 2013, and was so happy to find it just as lovely on our recent visit in April 2022. This time we stayed in the "Morning Glory" cottage. I believe it is the smallest of the cottages, but it was perfectly organized and just the right amount of space for my husband, me and our two (20-lb) dogs. The grounds were in full bloom and a very inviting setting for doing...well, nothing. A walk to downtown and back is very do-able and good exercise, but since our dogs are older now we discovered the immediate neighborhood is also nice for a more leisurely walk, down to the beach or around to admire the unique houses. A tip on ordering for breakfast: The portions are modest, so request more than one per person if you're expecting a typical serving, and inquire at the desk if you need to steer clear of certain foods. (For example, my husband's "mini quiche" was just one-quarter of a personal-sized quiche and had ham in it, which was not noted on the menu.) We hope to stay here every time we're in Carmel.

We just came back from our weekend get away in Carmel. Lincoln Green Inn has become one of our favorite places to stay in Carmel. The units are well appointed and spotless. beds are very comfortable and the staff is excellent. Each unit has a little courtyard which adds to the character of the place. The Inn has a great location close to the beach and in a very good neighborhood. We'll be back for sure.

Wonderful Inn and excellent location. Very peaceful and quite neighborhood. 3 block / 8 minute walk to Mission Ranch Restaurant. The accommodations were perfect with private gardens and patios. The Carmel State Beach was a simple walk to the right, the Carmel Beach was an equally short walk to the left. The dogs were happy and the people, too! Highly recommend the Lincoln Green Inn. Before departure, we Made reservations for next year.

TL'DR: person who delivers breakfast barges inside the cottage WITHOUT a mask on while cottage is occupied. We were told breakfast was supposed to be left outside in the morning, but that's not what happened at all. Instead, the lady knocked on our door, and my two small children opened the door mistakenly while the adults were in the other room. The lady then decides to come into our cottage without a mask on and walked into the kitchen and left the breakfast there. While the encounter was brief, we felt it was irresponsible of her to just barge in mask-less when we have two small children inside who are not yet able to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We hope the lady was not infected. Our children might have opened the door mistakenly, but we felt she should have at least waited for an adult to come to the door to receive the breakfast instead of just barging in mask-less! Such inconsiderate and risky behavior!!!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that our stay exceeded our expectations (and we already had high expectations based on the reviews). Staff was welcoming but not intrusive, housekeeping offered daily and was thorough. The grounds are beautiful any time of year, which we know from walking past the site for many years, and true to the pictures available online. Our cottage--Little John--was spacious and well-appointed, tastefully decorated, and remarkably quiet. (The resident crows endeavored to disturb the peace, but that is no fault of Lincoln Green). Breakfast was simple but satisfying and delivered on time. The bed was reasonably comfortable, a little firmer than our liking--but this is a matter of taste. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast under the trees on our private patio each morning of our stay. We did not cook any meals in the kitchen but did find it well-prepared for our morning coffee needs, and it looked to have the basics on hand. Our only small issues, that overall did not detract from our enjoyment, were the lack of a full-length mirror in the cottage and that the upholstered patio furniture had not been dusted off/cleaned recently. We would 100% return to this property and are kicking ourselves for having been to Carmel multiple times a year for over a decade without ever having tried Lincoln Green before. We won't make that mistake again!

It's like having your own home in Carmel. The personnel go overboard to please and the facilities are wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, the cottage was wonderfully appointed, the breakfast was terrific and came right on time. Due to Covid, we did not avail ourselves of housekeeping, but Justin supplied anything we needed. We'll be back

I wanted to love this place with all the 5* reviews, but we had a few issues. Here's our pros and cons. Pros: -Walkable to two beaches including Carmel River Beach which was very lovely and had over a hundred pelicans in the river. -Beautiful neighborhood and beautiful flowers and grounds on premise and quiet location -Friendly staff -Room was clean -Full kitchen (although we didn't use it) Cons: -Bed was too hard for us; we like soft beds and bring our own latex mattress liner along because we have encountered too many hard beds, but even with that it was too hard for us (my husband has a bad hip and needs a softer bed) -Expected more for breakfast from B&B. Yes its during the pandemic and we got to pick the time they deliver the breakfast, but it wasn't anything special. Croissant was average, some granola and fruit, choice of a small glass of juice or milk, yogurt, hard boiled egg, muffin or bagel. Nothing hot (like scrambed eggs or waffles) and coffee was packets in the room with Mr. Coffee maker you make yourself and not very good. -We have t-mobile and although the Inn offers internet, we got no cell phone coverage at all and so could not receive a text or call while in the room. This is a real issue for us because we need to be reachable due to family issues so this was a source of stress for us. We got service if we walked to the street, but not in the room. -We both started sneezing and got stuffed up staying in the room. There was a smell in the room, it could have been from what they used to clean/disinfect. For the amount we spent (total $387.75) we will probably look elsewhere on our next trip to the area.
