Dont arrive after dark as finding your room and figuring out how to park your car will be a challenge. The landscaping and the architecture are very impressive. The rooms themselves are clean but quite aged. The hot tub pumps were not working.

Hotel's Favorite
My teenagers and I spent 4 nights in one of the Villa Suites at the end of March 2021. The Villa Suites had high ceilings a great patio with seating overlooking the pool area and really comfortable beds. We swam, hung out in the hot tub and played ping pong poolside (ask for paddles at the front desk). We grabbed some breakfast at the take and go cafe but otherwise didn't eat on the property. The steak house was not open the days we were there but the bar area was open as a restaurant with outside seating overlooking the golf course. There is a kid pool area / splash area / water slide. It was crowded with parents and kids with no masks so we steered clear. Otherwise, there were Covid precautions throughout and I felt very comfortable. While on the grounds, I felt removed from the hustle and bustle but Encinitas, Carlsbad and beaches are a quick drive down the hill. Also, tons of great places to eat either way on El Camino Real and Gelson's right next door. We needed help with our TV (the Chromcast was unplugged) and maintenance was quick to come and help (thanks to Cecilia!). Overall a really relaxing stay and we will be back.

This hotel must have the worst service at the Omni hotel chain. I am a Black Level Member (the highest at Omni Hotels) and have stayed at this property a couple of weeks per year since 2015. La Costa does a disservice to the Omni chain, and its membership should be reviewed. The property and rooms need an uplift badly, which is sad, considering what a nice property it was originally. The glass doors in bathrooms are not well installed and represent a peril to guests. Even small details like a working safe in the room can not be fixed, placing guests valuables at risk. Front desk service is poor. Black membership entails benefits that this hotel finds excuses not to honor, and the guest must remind them to receive them. Stay away if you have an alternative.

My friends and I were there for a tennis camp and day one we were told to park play tennis 2 hours then we could check in. During that time our car was broken into and our purses computers etc were stolen. The resort pretty much did nothing to help us. They didn’t seem to care and we wasted so much of our time dealing with cops, canceling credit cards etc. the resort didn’t even tell their staff their was a break in/ in their own parking lot!! The bell caps were never told 🤔 u could go on and on. We didn’t expect lack of care or concern in a nice resort.

Response from Michelle Zwirek, Owner at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, @elizabethdave. We’re very sorry that you had the misfortune of having your car broken into while you were at the resort. We spoke with our associates to better understand what had occurred, and we were pleased to discover that Malcolm, Joe, Kat and Justin took measures to ensure you were personally cared for while waiting for the authorities to arrive. (We understand that the CPD was undergoing a shift change, and the response time took longer than it should have.) Despite the fact that this type of incident never makes for an ideal experience, our team did our best to lend a hand through their sincere support – as well as an improvised charging station, and providing beverages and bites to eat while waiting in the lobby. We truly apologize if you received a negative impression, as guest satisfaction is our absolute priority. We have passed along your feedback to all appropriate parties, and we all also be sure to share your concerns with the local police department.

Wow! Omni LaCosta exceeded ALL expectations! After two days absolutely enjoying Legoland as a family, walking into LaCosta was like the grown up vacation we hoped for. The grounds are stunning, the service is above & beyond, guests are friendly and happy, weather amazing even at 66 degrees, and most importantly as a family, we could relax at the massive kids pool complex while still feeling like we were on vacation. Perfect place for two boys with lots of energy. They went on the big slide over and over and over again. Thank you, we will be back!!
