Everything was near perfect. From the room with the ocean view, the courteous staff to the wonderful pool. Rooms were tidy and clean. To the leadership team, you have an excellent crew! Everyone was positive, upbeat, and accommodating. I recommend a stay here. My only beef: not enough places to hang towels in the bathroom. :)
Please understand that if you are concerned about the happiness and safety of you and your family, this resort is a treat! They are well staffed, for bell and valet service. There is a parking lot right by, the walk to which is beautiful! However Valet is only $5 more. Go for Valet! They will treat you good. The restaurant is amazing, so is the pool. Gym is top notch. They have shuttle service to the beach. Great ambience, and the room is great. Very comfy stay, and I would stay here again and spend a little more money rather than stay at a trashy dump somewhere else.
We enjoyed our stay. Nice resort feel to it. Staff was very efficient and helpful. Only complaint is the rooms are noisy between the air and whatever else kept turning on during the night. Also parking is not included. The site I reserved through did not mention this so plan on an extra $25 to $35 per night.
Had a nice strawberry and pineapple dole whip with coconut cream on it to die for… it was the most delicious treat ever.. white chocolate strawberries were the best, dipped strawberry rice crispy treats, strawberry red velvet cookie was also good but the strawberry/ pineapple swirl with coconut cream by far the best!
Nice location - easy into Leucadia or Carlsbad. Plus, great sunsets! High service level - very attentive to guests. Nice room. Only spent one night there between stays at airbnb stops along the coast, but would recommend.
We really enjoyed staying at Cape Rey! The hotel is in a really fancy area surrounded by beautiful homes and shopping. Nice convenient and secure parking. We drove out from Texas and when we arrived the outside staff was really friendly and set a good vibe helping with luggage as well as helpful, friendly check-in staff. Hotel is beautiful and has a great restaurant and bar. Great bartenders. The 1st room had a small a/c glitch and the engineering person went out of his way to help us switch immediately to another room. We were able to walk across the street to the beautiful beach in minutes. I recommend checking out the camp store bistro on the beach. The pizza is excellent. Housekeeping service was thorough. Overall a very Happy beach vacation spot and perfect for family.
I spent one night at this hotel on a Thursday evening in July. Selected my room and checked in via their iOS app, but still had to go to the front desk to ask for the HHonors bottled water, and get a parking pass to place on my car's dashboard. Overall stay was nice. Many families were using the public areas, especially the pool and hot tub. Staff was friendly. A couple of minor issues: My pillows went flat throughout the night, and I had to stack them and fluff them up to have sufficient support. The mattress was firm. Also, one of the two gated doors to the pool area didn't work with my badge, and these doors don't automatically close and lock behind them, so half of the time they were ajar.
Overall, a great place to stay. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. The room was well sound-proofed which I was thankful for. The staff was very enthusiastic and friendly. We ate in the restaurant several times and it was an enjoyable experience. The reason i didn’t rate this 5/5 was because when I called different services throughout my stay (front desk, housekeeping, etc) the phone would not be answered. I had emailed and called to get a spa appointment with no response and when I needed to ask the front desk a question, i would wait and wait and wait.
We will never stay at this resort again. Very expensive and not Hilton quality. We asked for a hyper allergenic room which it wasn’t, they assured us it would be deep cleaned which it wasn’t and I also asked for a pet free room which it wasn’t. The carpet had stains the bedskirt had stains we had to clean the lampshades off because it had layers of dust. Our air conditioner stopped working a maintenance person came and fixed it he was very nice. We explained the problems to him about our room and he assured us that he would speak to management which we never heard from anyone. I will never stay at this hotel again! Their website makes it seem like this hotel is beautiful but it’s not. I am a Hilton diamond member and also a Hilton Grand Vacation owner. I will express my opinion to Hilton corporate office regarding this resort, if you want to call it that.…
Our 2nd time staying here, would recommend. Only thing letting it down is that the rooms could use a refurb to modernise and we wished staff were wearing masks (COVID rates in the area were super high when we were there). Otherwise the pool, restaurant, WiFi, parking etc everything is good. The view out to the sea from the restaurant is really great (& worth mentioning the service in restaurant and food was really good). Will be back!
