We called and asked about a specific room to make sure there was a tub. We booked the room online. When we arrived they told us there were no rooms with tubs but for $100 more we could get a suite. Even the photos for the specific room showed a tub. He told us they would waive the parking fee and the resort fee. Low and behold we were charged for both. Decided to eat at their restaurant...and again ordered a steak but did not get that. There were only two of us and we both ended up with a filet. I decided not to wait for them to cook a steak and just accepted it. The whole trip here was nothing close to what we expected. For the amount of the room you would think they would even have a glass in the room to drink out of....it was a suite with nothing.
Beautiful views, clean, functional rooms. Perfect for my three day business stay. Pool and gym facilities looked nice and the restaurant smelled great and has an amazing view. Didn't get to try it out.
Cape Ret is located right off the 101, close to the on/off ramp to the i5. Great lobby. Staff was absolutely welcoming. Room was on the 1st floor, facing the ocean. It was a walk to get to room. All the way past a few halls and turns the second to last room... was ours! Room is spacious. The bathroom was also quite big. The scented oils in the bathroom was very welcoming. There was a balcony that had a great view of the ocean. Other amenities include the resort style pool. plenty of parking. Both across the property as well as towards the side entrance of hotel. (FYI there is a parking fee)
Nice location across highway from beach. Beautiful view of sunset from pool area. Not much noise from highway. Room was quiet and clean. Staff was friendly. Because of COVID couldn’t get sit down breakfast but could pay for dinner in same restaurant. Almost like using virus as an excuse not to serve breakfast. Will give it another try once COVID ever passes.
I stayed at Cape Rey for four days while visiting my son. When my husband booked the room through hilton (paying for a portion of it through his Hilton Honors) he forgot to select a room with a pool view. So right away, he called Hilton to put in his request for a pool or ocean view. Didn't care what we had to pay, just thought at least a pool view would be nice. I arrived late on Thursday night and had a room with no balcony and a lovely view of the parking lot. I should have reminded her upon check- in but who would think they would get that wrong. Besides, there were plenty of rooms on the opposite side of the hall as evidenced by the "cleanliness seals " on countless doors for the entirety of our trip. This was not a full resort. So that was a bad way to start my visit. The down comforter that was sandwiched between two sheets was filthy. Really Disgusting. Be warned, there is a $26 per day parking fee for the lot across the street from the hotel. On the positive side, all the employees were extremely nice and professional. The on site restaurant Chandlers was an excellent choice for dinner; wonderful food, cocktails and service. Not sure I would stay here again. When you choose to stay on Carlsbad blvd., it's all about the view. And the parking lot was a horrible view.…
