We are used to Marriott hotels and love them. This is definitely a step up. As good as service at Marriott is, we have been even more impressed at the 4 Seasons by the eagerness to answer questions. The employees watch faces, and are there to assist before you have a chance to ask!! The villa is fabulous, despite Covid19 restrictions!! Wonderful cushioned lounge chairs by the pool. We have a huge 2 bedroom, 3 bath condo!!
We have now stayed at the four season Aviara 5 times, coming back each time because of the comfort of the rooms and the incredible service. This last trip we stayed over thanksgiving and was treated with a pie and ice cream in our fridge. Upon arrival they had stocked our room with dog amenities and an arrival treat. Every request was met kindly and quickly. They are very covid conscious and we felt safe and very much at home. Our one issue was when we had friends visit us at the hotel and ordered door dash by the pool, we had to leave the pool area to eat. There were various tables etc in the pool area, nothing on the grounds so we had to shuffle everyone up to our room. I understand these are the rules, but I felt they could have accommodated in the area far away from the pool where there was the only seating on the property. Still the best place in the area and the four seasons brand continues to impress.…
So I spent 26 days at this resort previous to my 4th trip. I spent almost 15k here in 2020. On the 4th trip I booked differently. I bought a time share week from an owner who could not use it. The property did everything they could to give me my room by 2pm. Only problem was that the supervisor of housekeeping never checked the room. The property was fully booked and the room had been vacant at 930am. So 30 minutes into getting settled i switched shoes only to discover that the carpet was soaking wet and my service dog had been walking on it. I called the front desk. 45 minutes later I had to call again. The first call never was transferred to a manager or house keeping supervisor. The air quality was hazardous because of the smoke outside. Finally a man with a blower came. Propped everything open and left. I was not offered anyplace cool to go or smoke free. So I went to a store . I came back and closed everything up, covered the carpet with white sheets. Noone ever called to come over to see if it was ok. That evening the dog started dry heaving. The emergency hospital told me to watch her. I called the front desk at 11pm and told them that u was going to leave my prepaid room at 7am. In the morning I spoke to a manager. No offer to remedy or move me. I got home and emailed all involved. The resort manager actually wrote back to me that she would have left too. And that they were reviewing all the broken management steps. They blamed it in me for wanting to check in before 4pm. No refund. No offer of credit, no apology. I had a pleasant cooler summer here. This is not even a 4 star property but the staff is very nice and much of the covid precautions were top notch. I would never return to this property. Does not matter how it was booked the property is responsible for the room care and service. This property has survived covid fully booked. Their complete lack of compensation has forever tarnished their appeal. And they had the nerve to suggest that I book directly with them in the future. What a shame for all those time share owners to be treated like garbage. Between the smoke coming in to dry the gross carpet cleaner wet soaked carpet and the lack of options, I had to leave. These inept fools could have come immediately to see the wet carpet arranged for a corner of the lobby which was now open 25 percent. Offered me dinner and confirmed that all had been resolved. But they left me hanging like a third class guest who actually was replacing an owner. They should be fired and replaced by Four Seasons worthy employees.…
We have been staying in the Carlsbad and La Jolla area for weekend getaways more often recently and this is my favorite place to stay in the area. It isn't next to the ocean, but it's got a beautiful view of the lagoon, and the hotel amenities are very relaxing. From check in, the staff was very welcoming, and had made little personal touches in our room, along with a note. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite when we booked with AMEX. The room was clean and room service was quick. Also, getting a reservation was pretty seamless, and sitting at the restaurant was safe and spaced out. The pool was also very relaxing, and service was quick. I definitely don't want to stay anywhere else when visiting the area. They even upgraded my friend who was getting married the same weekend, and threw in some personal touches in her room.…
We had the pleasure of enjoying this quiet little retreat of luxury. The first thing we noticed was the quiet calm. The second was the sweet smell of eucalyptus. The rooms were appointed with all amenities you would expect from a high-end resort. Very clean property and helpful and available staff.
