Lovely unique small motel one block from the beach. Each room was different. Off street sheltered parking. Hot tub on roof with ocean view. Smores nightly on roof. Breakfast was okay. Fresh hard cooked eggs, yogurt. Staff friendly. Supplied beach chairs and boogie boards.

I booked this place for a one night getaway for the the wife and I. The place is a little old but it has a lot of character and the rooms are nice. The best part is the rooftop overlooking the ocean. There is even a hot tub on the roof! Very nice little getaway. My only knock was the...

Every time we go to SD we stay here. The price is so reasonable for the amenities offered and is well worth it. The staff, especially Dawn, is wonderful, friendly and make you feel right at home. It's quaint with a sweet boutique feel. Each room has it's own unique theme. The simple breakfast is fresh and has a little...

I was tempted to give a bad review and focus on the train horn that periodically sounds in the evening until about 11, just to make sure that people would stay away so there would be rooms available when we return. But I'm not that mean. We used to live in the area and come back often, so we've stayed...

Super friendly staff, chill vibe, only 15 or so rooms, and an amazing zen rooftop terrace with hot tub and fire pit. This is not an upscale property. It's 3 star, a bit dated, but has so much charm and character that makes the slightly dated rooms well worth it! and a perfect location.

Staff here aim to please, to include those who service the room. It was clean and affordable. (My husband and I were there for a week.) The location is also convenient to area eateries, etc. Neat 3rd floor Terrace with fire pit. Complimentary breakfast is adequate, but average. We understand that the hotel will be renovated soon. A good idea,...

In the area for a few days to visit family....this was perfect for us....some privacy and convenience without spending a fortune. A quirky little place; unique decor, beautiful rooftop deck with stunning ocean view. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is adequate. Great base for our San Diego visit.

Awsome view and rooftop jacuzzi with a fire pit! Rooms were spacious and the beds comfy. The Jets in the tub no bueno....but other than the am amtrak horn thru out the night I was a happy camper to say the least.

This B&B is located in the coastal village of Cardiff by the Sea, two blocks up from the beach. We are here for four nights, and might stay longer, and will definitely return. We can see surfers from the rooftop hot tub. S'mores are served around the rooftop fireplace until ten o'clock. A Patagonia shop down the hill carries surfboards...

An delightful small hotel in the Cardiff-by-the Sea neighborhood of Encinitas. We will definitely stay again when we take another weekend trip down the coast to visit the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach and attend the Gluten Free Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds (only 10 minute drive). A couple good restaurants with gluten free menu items are within...
