Out family of 5 stayed in this historical unit for 1 night. We love it. It is old and ocean front with everything in walking distaince. We can cook some easy breakfast and lunch. The corner unit we have is the largest and it has water front view. There is a parking at back but it is quite busy. I... More

Fun place to stay right on the beach. The rooms were built in the 1920's but they are cute and cozy. Some rooms have views of the beach and ocean. Most have kitchens with dishes and cookware. Within walking distance (2 blocks) of the cute little town of Capitola. Great shops with a wide range of prices to fit all... More

Have driven by this hotel many times and wanted to stay. Finally did. The location is amazing. Walking distance to beach, restaurants and cute village shopping. Great history but don't expect fancy. This is an old hotel (listed on historic registry) but very well maintained. Room was clean, kitchen was well equipped and beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly.... More

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at the Art & Wine Festival and hope you'll be joining us again. It's not too early to book for next year. Many people already have reserved for the festival in 2016. It does get a little noisier here during festivals like the Begonia Festival or... More

Old world charm and roomy with a great little kitchen. The staff were excellent and very friendly. If you want to hear the ocean while you sleep, this is the place. Very clean and such an interesting historic landmark.

Thank you for the nice review. Sorry you had trouble finding parking. We do have free parking for one car per room but it you have two vehicles or an extra large one you may have to park on the street. I agree that the pizza place in Capitola has some of the best around. Regards, Duane More

We stayed in room 123 which was quite roomy, nice and clean. One of the two beds is in the family room but it worked out fine for us. You can close a door between the bedroom and family room for privacy. There are two balconies with a nice view if you look past the roof line of the building... More

Plus -right by the ocean and a very short walk to Shadowbrook & other places to eat. Con- our room was right on the road and it is very noisy beginning in the am with street sweepers, etc. Small shower and no storage in tiny bathroom. Has kitchen but missing some items like a toaster and knives.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We don't have a room 223 but you are correct that the rooms near the road will get more traffic noise. I hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise and will be joining us again soon. If you check out our room descriptions on the website, we specify which rooms are... More
