One a few hotels in Olympos, but with a truely spectacular view. Sufficient comfort with newly renovated bathroom, particularily when considering the favourable price. The landlord also operates the very authentic Parthenon restaurant a few steps away in the heart of Olympos. An unparalleled combination. Our best recommendations.

Nikos the owner ( who owns the Parthenon Taverna in the heart of the village ) was very welcoming. You must park your car before entering the village, so my recommendation is to plan your Olympos trip during your stay and take a small bag rather than your suitcase; this will save you having to encounter the small lanes and steps to get to the hotel ( regardless it wasn't a huge issue so just a suggestion ). The hotel room was basic, however has a fridge and facilities to make a tea or coffee. The whole point of the hotel is the location but the amazing and breathtaking views of the cliffs and sea with spectacular sun sets. You will be pleased you stayed here to example these views. The village is old and traditional and steeped in history. Its beautiful and there are many little shops and places to eat. The local women still wear traditional costume. Everyone was very friendly. We travelled at the end of September so you will find the shops and places to eat do close down early ( 7- 7.30 pm ) except a couple of places in the heart of the village square. Nikos' the owners taverna is open and you can enjoy local and fresh food or even just enjoy a drink. He hosts this taverna with his son. You can also enjoy the ambience of joining the locals who visit too. Nikos is a 'fountain of knowledge' and do ask to see his book containing old photos taken by his father, it truly helps you understand how the village was and he is the best to ask for local information.

My partner and I stayed at Aphrodite Hotel for one night on 31/7. The views from this accommodation are simply magical. It was great to have a base to stay in Olympos overnight and experience the village once all the day trippers had disappeared and the tourist shops closed for the day. Our host Nikos was very helpful and we enjoyed a metaxa in his bar during the evening of our stay. I'd love to spend more time there.

i really loved this place!! The best view i ever had! So quiet, so tranquil, so unspoilt, so real and authentic. I loved every minute of it, so much, that i did not leave the room for 2 days :-) The owner Nikos a wonderful, genuine human being!!! He runs a taverna a few meters further in the village with his family. A great place to hang out, so not touristy!!! where all the locals meet in the evening. Where the priest plays cards with the men of the village. Fantastic!!! 10 out of 10 for this place!

We spent a night in Olympos, and were blown away by the incredible view from the rooms here! Incredible! The owner Nikos is very charming and helpfull, with many good stories to tell. A visit to his taverna is also recommended! To spend a night here is a must, well worth the winding roads to get to Olympus! Thank you Nikos, see you next time!

Aphrodite Hotel-Olympos Village -Karpathos We stayed 1night 23May17 & our only disappointment was that we didn't allow ourselves the time to stay another night or two. We could have easily spent 2-3 nights in this beautiful hilltop town , staying at Aphrodite perched on the edge of the cliff with the simple but spotless rooms & THE MOST SPECTACULAR full-on view across the Aegean Sea & the mountains. And WOW! Dont miss the sunset......sit on your private balcony with a glass of wine , watch the pastel blues yellows & creams of the hillsidetown come to life as the sky explodes with colour , the sun setting right out in front of you. Just magic! As I said, the rooms are simple Greek style, spotless with comfy beds, plenty of hot water and soooooo quiet. We just loved our stay . Parking is in the main parking area around 200 metres from the hotel. Nikos owns the Parthenon Cafe & Taverna in town, & should you turn up without a booking drop in to the cafe to enquire about a room. Nikos the owner was a perfect host, knowledgeable about the many hikes , the town history & our nearest petrol option!! Yes, PETROL! we weren't aware the only petrol stations are in the south of the island at Pigadia. Apart from an ancient supermarket down in the small port of Diafani , 8kms away.. Which sells 1,5litre plastic back-up bottles of fuel for €4.50...make sure you fill up before making the 48km drive to Olympos.

And this is not quite enough to compensate for the lacking amenities of this hotel...specially when adjecent ones are like taken out of a fairytale...And for almost the same price.i am sorry to say but only in case of emergency I would choose it- as it was our case- or if there was nothing else left in this beautiful Karpathos village...

The hotel is in a perfect situation for breathtaking sunsets and reflections of moonlight on the Mediterranean. With little light pollution it is also perfect for star gazing. The owner, Nikos, speaks excellent English and nothing was too much trouble for him. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and with no noise of traffic or loud music from other bars the only noises to wake light sleepers are the occasional goat bell or clock chime. Although our stay was only a few days we were made very welcome by Nikos and his family and the locals at his taverna who offered us a genuine insight into this unique community. A car is useful in this remote location but a variety of walks are accessible along the coast and well worth the effort. This hotel really is a hidden gem and in an ideal location from which to experience a glimpse into a Greek community that is in real danger of being lost.

If you are looking for a truly memorable experience spend at least one night in Olympos and enjoy the quiet of this beautiful village when the tourist buses have left. This family-run hotel in Olympos is an absolute gem. Considering the view from the room the price is a real bargain. The owners also have a taverna in the center of Olympos serving excellent traditional dishes. A real find.
