Nice Hotel, English speaking, good price and warm town. People are friendly, beaches are close, and great places to eat a variety of food. Hotel price is fair, wish they were not ending their breakfast.

I arrived at Tateyama station by bus from Tokyo.I could easily find this hotel.Because I could see from the station. Just 5 min walk with my heavy luggage but if I don't have this luggage ,I could walk just 2 min maybe. Hotel migrant looks like normal type hotel in Tokyo, but there is no such like a hotel around Tateyama station.Maybe this hotel is the only one this type hotel (economical and convinient)First I decided this destination, I booked by e-mail this hotel ,hotel staff can understand easy English, they couldn't speak fluently but they could understand what I want and while I am staying there ,there's no problem at all. This hotel is basically B&B type stay. But if you don't take breakfast, you can buy something at 7eleven for 24 hours. First day I rent a bicycle at the Tateyama station(just 2 min walk from Hotel )and I rode to Tateyama castle.Tateyama castle park has many cherry bloosom trees,so I think if I am here in spring I can shooot castle and sakura at the same angle! then I went Hojo seaside,Hojo seaside is famous for the sunset with Mt Fuji. I came Tateyama to see this sunset. Hojo seaside is very near from Hotel too.I really enjoyed amazing sunset. It's very Japanese sunset scenery.(Because of Mt. Fuji) If I came here summer time,I could swim this beach too. Next morning I rode on the bus from Tateyama station to Shirahama (Nojimazaki righthouse )It's like very Japanese style local bus. There is only 2 bus in 1 hour.So I recommend to check the bus schedule before you use.But mood is very nice,Bus went through small shops, rice field and to the ocean! Its very country side. Here is just 2hours bus from Tokyo but very country side. I visited Nojimazaki righthouse (the most south point at Chiba prefecture). Then after I came back to Hotel ,I enjoyed Sushi restaurant and Izakaya near hotel.Hotel is located very convinient for restaurant too. Third day ,I went "AEON" to shopping by bicycle again. And I came back bus from Tateyama to Haneda.(within 2hours ,you can see and take a picture from the bus about Aqua line)Then my fright. So I really enjoyed "Minamiboso" area by staying Hotel migrant. While I was staying there ,I tried breakfast last morning. I enjoyed 3 sliced bread!and 2 glass of orange juice and Coffee! because sliced bread was really delicious (I heard from hotel staff later, this bread is from "Nakapan" ."Nakapan"is famous for local people. It's very popular bakery shop in Tateyama.Umm I try next time.)And this breakfast except salad I can oeder as I like "Tabehoudai system" Amazing location, clean room, friendly staff,24hours convinience store, near from Sushi restaurant! Oh! I could use wi-fi easily too.(So I found Tateyama castle by tripadviser.) I highly recommend Hotel migrant when you travel around Minamiboso area. You can enjoy Japanese country side for just 1 to 3 days!

I stayed overnight here whilst touring Chiba Prefecture. It's extremely convenient to get to as it's just a 2min walk from the JR Tateyama station. However, their facilities are quite basic and breakfast is just a simple toast and salad, with a choice of juice/milk and coffee/tea. I've stayed this hotel migrant for 4 nights total. Tateyama is the beach city of Chiba, japan, so the view from the high floor of this hotel is so beautiful, I can see the sunset thou the window. this Hotel is closed to the JR line trail station, you can walk i=within 5 minutes to reach there. not far from aeon department store where you can shop and have great food, the hotelier is not very good in english but they have tried to talk to me, so they are so lovely to me:). there's 7-11 at the first floor. I didn't have breakfast because I have to pay more about 500 yen to have it. please ask for the higher floor because the hitel is located next to the rail track , so, the sound of train will annoy you if you stay lower floor, I used to hear it ! so, please ask if higher floor is available

Stayed at the Hotel Migrant twice now, it is not the sort of place I would be rushing back to for a holiday but for business work in the area it was adequate. It is right next to the railway station and also the bus station for Tokyo connections plus local services. Rooms are very dated, something like I imagine 1960s Eastern Bloc to have been but they are clean. Couldn't get a non-smoking room so had to make do with a smoking but the smell wasn't too bad. Didn't eat in the hotel, used local resturants and bakery for breakfast. Tateyama is a nice small town but a bit isolated for the Western traveller so not really geared up for such, which is to be expected. If you are in the area check out the beach at Chikura, fantanstic and non-developed. Not good for swimming but good for sitting around or surfing.
