Like many folks, we stayed for two nights at Le Meridien Paro Riverfront as a "staging area" for our climb to the famous Tiger's Nest. The hotel definitely delivered on those expectations. The location and grounds are stunning ... right on a beautiful clear river with majestic mountains as the backdrop. All of the rooms have views of the river and the views are a great way to begin and end your day. The rooms were as expected for this type of property - comfortable with well appointed bathrooms. The staff was professional and attentive as one would expect from a Le Meridien Property. The lobby was a terrific place to relax with wonderful views and a bar with cocktails and snacks. The restaurant had an expansive buffet with varied cuisine options ... I enjoyed the full variety while my traveling partner was actually getting over a stomach issue from the days preceding our visit and she was able to find "milder" foods that her stomach could handle. While the Tiger's Nest climb is accessible to a wide range of ages and fitness levels, it is nonetheless strenuous, so we felt that it was important to stay at a hotel property where we could have a comfortable and enjoyable experience so that we could get the most out of our climb. Le Meridien delivered on those expectations. Our room was quiet and comfortable which enabled a good nights sleep. We were able to relax in the pool / sauna / steam room before and after our climb. Perhaps most outstanding was that the breakfast staff - without us even asking - went above and beyond and packed a container full of breads, muffins and fruit for us to enjoy on our climb! Le Meridien Paro is worth the stay regardless of your activities, but for us, it was a particularly good choice which enabled us to be well rested and prepared for our Tiger's Nest trek as well as providing a great place to relax and celebrate our successful climb!

Room is ok. Not much more. Manager is upfront on the coronavirus as a guest as we checked in had but had left. The massage was good but had better. The food looked like wide but was only Indian curry. The service as so so. The grounds were good and the views were good. Only good for 1 night. Many if they can visit Tigers Nest

We have just came back from a few nights at Le Meridien Thimphu, so of course we had to compare. First of all. The hotel setting is perfect. That is what you want, so you can really take in the beautiful unspoiled nature of the country of Bhutan. The hotel is modern and clean and has definitely a sense of tranquility to it. The design really compliment the view of the river. The only downside was the service. Maybe it was because we were treated so well as Lifetime Titanium Elite at the Thimphu location that it was maybe a let down. Both hotel are very nice. One is a city hotel the other one way on the outskirt. Great location to visit the Tiger's Nest.

My husband and I chose this hotel as part of our honeymoon itinerary in Bhutan. We were greeted by the front desk staff, Deki, who took the initiative to introduce the hotel amenities and services to us. We were most impressed with the Executive Chef, Tanuj. When we arrived for our breakfast buffet, he approached us and offer us chicken broth and congee. This is very well appreciated as both the chicken soup and congee was super tasty and kept us warm during the cold season in Bhutan. He is also very attentive to our requests and was initiative to suggest a menu for our dinner. On top of which, he fulfilled the requests of dumplings perfectly to which both my husband and I appreciate it very much. As we have to catch a very early flight in the morning, the hotel was kind enough to arrange for a packed breakfast for us to takeaway with. The whole F&B experience made the stay very memorable. There were some minor hiccups in the rooms as we experienced sudden electrical faults during our first night. We highlighted to the front desk and they took actions immediately. Thankfully, it did not reoccur on the second night.
