Located thirty minutes from Paro International Airport, Naksel Boutique Hotel & SPA is a luxury retreat where the comforts of man and the presence of nature combine for a peaceful escape in the hills of Bhutan. Nestled on the edge of the national forest and the quiet Ngoba Village, Naksel derives its name from the Dzongka translation of 'Forest,' which is only fitting for this Himalayan sanctuary. The main lodge and surrounding cottages of Naksel rest on six acres of apple orchard, nearly 2700 meters above sea level. Each room, cottage and suite boasts unparalleled views of Mount Jumolhari, Taktsang Monastery, Sangachoekhor Monastery, and the Paro valley below. Elaborate hand-carved pillars and beautiful stonework exemplify the essence of Bhutan while tapered mud-brick walls provide insulation and restful silence. Leading Bhutan in energy efficiency, Naksel features LED lighting, highly efficient water heaters, and Swedish under floor heating systems preheated by solar panels. Main construction materials for Naksel are indigenous and locally purchased. Traditional windows, mud-bricks, framework and even furniture were locally crafted here in Ngoba Village, connecting Naksel to the surrounding forest. We offer the following room-categories: 1. Superior-room with two-single-size-beds (7 rooms) 2. Deluxe-rooms with 2 standard-size-beds with balcony (24 rooms) 3. Junior-Suites with 2 queen-size-beds. (5 rooms) 4. Executive-roof-top-suites with one king-size-bed (2 rooms)

Great accommodation and great staff. High Class services! Food was very diverse and staff was really helpful. The distance from the airport is 25 minutes only. Spa was under construction and they should tell us in advance. I totally recommend this hotel.

Our tour group spent 3 nights here. The rooms are big and very nice. We did have power issues 2 evenings and the Wi-Fi was not that great. Food was delicious and staff were very warm and welcoming. It takes about 15-20 mins to get to the hotel from the main road, and the narrow road curves around small houses, shops, monasteries. There is a spa but no one in our group had time or inclination to visit. There was a small gift shop but we never saw it open.

Visiting Bhutan just after reopening to tourists. This location has a ski resort vibe lots of wood. Eco resort. Rooms can take a while to heat. Facilities nice. Had a nice massage and hot rock soak. Food was lovely. Site not easy to find but with guide and driver you will be find.

The Naksel Boutique Hotel is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) hotels in Paro. The dirt road leading up to the Hotel was nothing much to look at - until we reached the end of the road where the Naksel Boutique Hotel was located. The grounds area within the Hotel property was simply immaculate! The main Hotel building is located at the bottom of a hillside and has the restaurant, bar, lounges, front desk and conference rooms. The Hotel rooms are located away from the main building and up on a hillside. Each room has an outdoor balcony with spectacular views of the mountains in the background. The Tiger Nest Temple also can be seen across the valley from the Hotel - Nice! The Hotel has a separate SPA building that has the typical massage rooms, steam room, etc. Our standard hotel room was huge - plenty of room to walk around. There is a nice sitting area right next to the large picture window, mini-refrigerator, coffee/tea station and a work desk with chair. The flat screen TV is located on a stand across from the work desk. The bathroom was nice with tiled walls and full sized bathtub/shower combination. The bathroom floor is also heated - very nice!! The Naksel Boutique Hotel is my recommended choice in Paro - excellent facilities, rooms and service.

We stayed 2 nights at Naksel. Very close to Taktsang (the Tiger’s Nest). After a 6 hrs hike to Taktsang, we went to the spa and had a wonderful traditional bhutanese massage! Worth every penny! Breakfast and dinner buffet were delicious. The room was big and super comfortable. The view from the room was breathtaking.

We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The views are amazing from the bedrooms and the public areas and the food is very good. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. One very small drawback was that our room was at the very top of the site but a buggy was arranged if requested. Would have loved to have had a massage but time did not permit.

Stayed as part of a package tour on our first night in Bhutan. Yes, the road going up to the hotel is a bit rough but the pay off of a secluded valley view hotel was well worth it. We were greeted warmly and given a welcome tea at check in. We had two of the cottages up the hill so was given a buggy ride up the hill. Room was fantastic. Large, warm and cozy with all top notch finishes. The whole place just oozes mountain retreat with quality and class. Dinner was buffet style and more than enough to satisfy our taste buds; down to the homemade creme puffs for dessert. Breakfast was made to offer with not ever leaving hungry a option. Chef was very personable, greeted us at our table and offered to flexible with the menu. It felt like we were the only ones in the hotel and had the run of the place. Felt almost bad about the huge buffet set out for what seemed like just us 3. Coffee on my balcony overlooking the valley as the sun came up. Could have stayed longer for sure.

Beautiful location of the hotel on the hills with a great view on the mountains. It has a main building and several chalets. Architecture and interiors are really nice. However, Coming from Kathmandu we were a bit surprised by the altitude effect on our physical performance. So, go slow. Another option is to ask for a golf buggy and they bring you at your cottage. We had a chalet with a spacious and beautiful room. There is a minibar with wine, Bhutan whisky and soft drinks but no beers. You can bring however something from the bar to your room. There is ample complimentary water and you can make your own coffee or tea. There is a separate bath room with a bath and shower. It is slippery, so be careful. The plumbing is not perfect with a slow drain from the bath. A hair dryer is present together with the usual amenities. An electronic in-room safe is available. During a second stay the safe had a mechanical lock, which is less convenient. The restaurant is in the main building and dinner is served as a buffet with local dishes. The bar is nice. Wifi works with a separate username and password for every device but sometimes it is slow and not so reliable. A few times the electricity went down with loss of connections. A visit to the spa was a positive experience with a good massage.

A beautiful hotel high above the valley with great views. Great rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant was ok, better than average Bhutan hotels, but could have been better. Bar was fine, but expensive.
