I was disappointed with NakSel, but suspect I would have had a different opinion had I been there for a shorter period of time. I was booked for 4 nights, but left after 2. It took us 45 minutes to get to NakSel from downtown Paro, much of which was spent driving up a rutted out road. I was surprised...

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting us at Naksel. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy it as much as we had hoped. We apologise for the ride up to our hotel. Naksel is an eco-friendly and environment based hotel and everything implemented has been with the intention of benefiting the villages around our hotel. We built the...

We were lucky to have stayed in this upmarket resort at the end of our 12 day trip to Bhutan. Luxurious appointments, excellent food and an amazing view of the second highest mountain in Bhutan! We enjoyed the comfy beds and pillows. The 'cottages' are architecturally gorgeous and have huge picture windows. As it was winter, we really appreciated the...

Naksel is among the top hotels in which I've ever stayed. It is simply gorgeous. The rooms are large, bathrooms are very modern with all amenities you could need, beds and pillows are comfortable, and there is space to sit and relax in your room or on a little porch or balcony. Our meals in the dining room were buffet,...

This hotel is not located very close to Paro town center, but do not let that discourage you. The journey to the hotel is very much worth it. It is a stunning hotel in an amazing location. The views are amazing. Their spa service is nice. I enjoyed the hot stone bath. I only took part in two meals (dinner...

The location was amazing! Peaceful, and gorgeous scenery. Upon arriving at the reception, I was upgraded to a higher level room. I was told that the occupancy was 70%, however at breakfast, I never saw any more than 3 tables of people occupied. Arriving to the reception on my first time, as I hired a taxi, I wanted to ask...

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting us at Naksel! We are sorry for some of the inconveniences you experienced here. When considering the standard of our hotel, Naksel is very reasonably priced and that too for a reason. Our proprietors wanted to make a luxurious get-away affordable and accessible to all guests entering our country. As for the food, our...

Naksel means forest and the hotel is literally the last settlement on the hill in the forest.!! It provides an unbostructed view of the Tigers Nest monastery and the snow clad peaks. Coming to the hotel we reached here after an 8 hour journey from Phobjikha and the hotel greeted us with utmost courtesy and warmth. It's a refreshing place....

Dear Guest, It was certainly a pleasure having you stay with us. Thank you for being so understanding about the food preparation time. We make it a point to serve all meals fresh which has been misunderstood on a few occasions as poor service. Please visit us again! We'd love to see you again.

My stay at Naksel has been very enjoyable. The hotel is nestled in the forest away from the city. It offers view of the 2nd highest mountain in Bhutan. I would recommend Naksel for travelers staying in Paro for the following reasons: 1) Warmth and excellent service from the staff. Examples: I was greeted warmly by the staff on arrival....

As people who live in Bhutan, sometimes a getaway is in need but there isn't time to go very far. Naksel is a refreshing, quiet, and naturally beautiful place. We always leave feeling better! Picturesque surrounding. A warm welcome at reception. Even the base category rooms are very luxurious. Most of the rooms have large windows capturing view of snow clad Himalayan peaks. Excellent quality of food, no difficulty for even Jain vegetarians. Chefs are expert in Indian traditional food styles also.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located thirty minutes from Paro International Airport, Naksel Boutique Hotel & SPA is a luxury retreat where the comforts of man and the presence of nature combine for a peaceful escape in the hills of Bhutan. Nestled on the edge of the national forest and the quiet Ngoba Village, Naksel derives its name from the Dzongka translation of 'Forest,' which is only fitting for this Himalayan sanctuary. The main lodge and surrounding cottages of Naksel rest on six acres of apple orchard, nearly 2700 meters above sea level. Each room, cottage and suite boasts unparalleled views of Mount Jumolhari, Taktsang Monastery, Sangachoekhor Monastery, and the Paro valley below. Elaborate hand-carved pillars and beautiful stonework exemplify the essence of Bhutan while tapered mud-brick walls provide insulation and restful silence. Leading Bhutan in energy efficiency, Naksel features LED lighting, highly efficient water heaters, and Swedish under floor heating systems preheated by solar panels. Main construction materials for Naksel are indigenous and locally purchased. Traditional windows, mud-bricks, framework and even furniture were locally crafted here in Ngoba Village, connecting Naksel to the surrounding forest. We offer the following room-categories: 1. Superior-room with two-single-size-beds (7 rooms) 2. Deluxe-rooms with 2 standard-size-beds with balcony (24 rooms) 3. Junior-Suites with 2 queen-size-beds. (5 rooms) 4. Executive-roof-top-suites with one king-size-bed (2 rooms) ... more   less
