A huge sense of calmness, comfortable and nicely designed rooms with great views (after all the lodge nestles in the midst of paddy fields), generous lashings of good old-fashioned hospitality, friendly smiling faces (Shering, Tashi, Maniram, Ishai, Ishai’s sister, and the others from the team – we terribly miss you all), and last but not the least, cuisine that will keep your lips smacking. I stayed at the Village Lodge for 9 days – yes, it was that peaceful – and I could see myself emerge as a different person at the end of my stay. This lodge is designed for people who love nature, and are somewhat of a peaceful disposition. Yes, it has drawbacks – the Wi-Fi strength could be better – but really, would you fret about the Wi-Fi connectivity in a place like Bhutan? The idea is to connect with nature, not with social media/work. Having said that I did finish a presentation by simply moving to my room to a wooden table by the side of a mini apple orchard. A bird even gave me company for a couple of hours. The Paro Chu river just outside the property is perfect for long walks in the evening. And you can hear the cheerful babbling of the pebbly river from the rooms too.

Village lodge ambiance will ensure you get a complete village feel. Beautiful apple trees & green fields will mesmerize you. However, there could be improvement on below points: -Better breakfast options instead of same breakfast everyday. -No matter we chose you for stay, but at the end one still needs a wifi to stay in touch with near and dear ones. I was travelling solo & during my stay, there was no wifi on 3 consecutive days in my room. - Rooms are basic & disjoint from the restaurant area, so they charge additional for a room service even if you want a cup of tea to your room early morning. - There was a fire incident during my stay just next to my room and it took some time for the care taker to come to scene. The care taker & security were sleeping away from the guest room area & were caught unaware of the fire until I informed !! Certainly guests security & safety should be a prime concern before any other service.

For sure, this is one of the best lodges we stayed at in Bhutan. Comfortable spacey rooms with character. Very comfortable mattress. Bath and shower (no hair dryer). Good food during breakfast and dinner. Serving good espresso, latte and cappuccino.... Indoor and outdoor places to relax and enjoy a drink.

Stayed in the lodge for 3 nights and had awsome time amidst the nature. The lodge has excellent hospitality management and makes you feel important and home. The staff girls to be precise, are cheerful and accommodative. Yes, I would like them to have on-line payment facility at the lodge to facilitate card payments. View of the paro dzong and museum at night from the room is awsome. Advise all to go to the lodge and rejuvenate. Food is very satisfying.
