I stayed in for one night there were issues but nothing was worth the $450 money they kept from my deposit (which was negotiated as $150 in the first place then they just took another $300). THE HOTEL MANAGER Jan DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME BY MAKING FUN OF MY ACCENT BY ACTING IT. THEY HARASSED ME BY RUNNING AFTER ME TO MY UBER CAR THREATENING ME AND SCREAMING TO SAY GOODBYE TO $500. The HR manager did nothing about it when I contacted him over and over. The corporate said the only people who can help me with my deposit were the ones who harassed me and all she offered was "sorry, you have to experience that". I mean a hotel manager having problems with other accents? Plus, if you hated me for any reason and wanted to overcharge me it was only cheap to run after me after I already checked out, make fun of my accent by doing my accent, and scream and threaten me to say goodbye to my money?!!!! More than a cheap hotel than a luxurious one. There are actual luxurious experiences you can have with their pricing. Not worth a penny, whatsoever!!.

My wife and I visited our new granddaughter in San Jose and stayed for 5 days. We traveled from New Jersey. The suite style rooms worked out great. The larder rooms suited our needs perfectly. The price was great, the free breakfast, all day coffee , cookies, location were exactly what we could have wanted, front desk staff Jen Flores, Melissa G, Jen Lugo and Jen G were very friendly and helpful. We will book again and recommend. Thanks

We do not recommend Larkspur Landing due to the poor state of fabrics, furniture, fixtures and more. My family (4 & 7 year olds, myself and my husband) chose to stay at this hotel while visiting family because it is an all suite hotel. We wanted the extra space and a separate room from the kids so we could all relax after camping. The hotel had a good included "continental" breakfast which was much more robust than expected. And the little bit of interaction we had with the staff was fine. We were quite disappointed in the state of the room. These rooms and property were probably state of the art and fresh in 2010 and have not been updated since. All of the fabrics whether it was the floor, the couch, the mattress pad, curtains all had stains. Most of them also had significant tears and holes. The hide-a-bed mattress was not made up, covered in stains and the thick memory foam mattress did not properly fit on the pull-out bed frame. There was approximately 6 inches of metal springs and frame that were uncovered and dangerous especially for my kids who were sleeping there. We pulled the mattress all the way to one side of the frame, over the metal edge and covered the other side with a "blanket" and pillows found in the closet and had the kids sleep perpendicular on the bed. Thankfully they are small enough to make that work. The bathtub had broken fixtures and plug making it difficult to give the kids a bath. If the drain plug was gently touched it would let the water out. My daughters also said that it smelled funny. The furniture was quite beat up and there were many holes in the walls where fixtures were attached due to poor maintenance. I have taken for granted the updated amenities I find in hotels these days like on-demad TV programing and either easily accessible plug outlets or USB outlets. This hotel had none of those. In order to turn all of the lights on in the room and make it bright enough, especially at night, nearly every light and light fixture had to be turned on individually. 7+ different switches on various walls, plus turning on each of the 4 lamps separately. Being that this hotel is mostly one bedroom apartments with a small but full kitchen, it seems that there are several more permanent occupants. They were fine. We do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

I recently stayed because of work and having recently moved to the area was unfamiliar with the Larkspur Landing Franchise. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this location. When I arrived at 3pm to check-in there was of course a long line of people trying to check-in at the sane time. Melissa was working, the lobby was full, she managed to check-in and completely clear out the line in the lobby in less than 15min ALONE, Impressive. The entire staff, extremely friendly, and would greet you with a genuine smile and ask you how your day was going when you walk through the hotel. The rooms are equipped with full size fridge, dishwasher, and the rooms actually have dishes, I have stayed in hotels that had a kitchen but didn’t provide dishes for travelers. Who travels with dishes? The beds are comfortable and there is a large workstation with actual office chairs. I was able to set up my laptop and create a work station which was so helpful to be able to not have to go to a FedEx to do my work. And they provided breakfast for guests, laundry(no charge), the list goes on. This truly is one of the best hotels and I would highly recommend it to those traveling for work and families too. The hotel is quiet at night, not filled with sketchy people, and the parking lot is huge and well lit with cameras. I travel alone and felt totally safe the entire trip. Thank you Larkspur Staff, your hard work is greatly appreciated!

I wanted a nice clean quiet room to prepare for and recover from a procedure at a stanford clinic. The website and reviews for this hotel fit the bill and I was willing to pay the higher price. Nothing was as represented- look closely at those fotos- the rooms are old, shabby and not clean. The toilet was loose from the floor. The tub stopper was broken (something I needed to work to take a sitz bath). The sink didn’t drain (improperly installed -no slope on the drainage line). The walls in the room were a hideous brown, adding to the dark dirty feel of the room. And the noise! All night long you can hear people going up and down the stairs to their rooms on the second level. There’s no sound insulation. If you want a nice clean fresh quiet hotel, this is not it.

I booked 5 nights in April to visit our daughter. We had our small dog with us. On the way to Campbell, I read the reviews...had no idea the property was in such bad shape these days. When we arrived at the hotel, I asked to see the room. Manager Melissa eagerly showed us the room. Halls were dirty and stained but the rooms were spic and span so we took a chance and stayed. Later Melissa and I chatted. She explained she was the new manager and yes the hotel needed new carpets, new window screens as needed, new air conditions as needed and the list goes on...as Corporate releases more funds each month, she feels the entire hotel will be in ship shape soon. Note: while we were there workers arrived to replace stacks of room air conditioners. Melissa is full of energy and is working hard to bring back the Larkspur to its former self. Front desk efficient and friendly. Met the maids in the hall every morning. They too were friendly and accommodating. Lounge was not open, no breakfast, but grab and go breakfast to start in May. The small bar was open. Being a travel agent myself, I have great hopes for this property. Take another look!

Before you read on know that I decided not to spend the night after what happened. I first stayed here when it opened and would always return because it was so nice. I haven't been here for probably six years and was shocked and saddened to see how downhill it's gone. It looks just the same, which means they have done nothing to upgrade anything (I hope the beds). I arrived at 9 pm and was greeted by a friendly, professional employee. They accommodated my request for a quiet room, which was on the third floor. As I walked from the lobby to the elevator, and to the room, I noticed that it all looked that same. Part of that was comforting and another part was not, because I could see that nothing had changed, and it had been probably 8 years since I'd last stayed. The first yucky thing I noticed was that curtains and lining. The sheer inner curtain was torn and the inside of the black out curtain was missing some padding. Then when I turned on the air conditioning I noticed funky residue from where a sticker may have been removed and dust in the grill of the unit. Okay...., then I saw stains on the dark carpet...., okay......, then I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth, started brushing and turned around and saw it. A beautiful baby cockroach! How sweet! First thought, "sh*t," second thought, "at least it's a baby," third thought, "f^ck it's a baby and I'm on the third floor! That means there are more somewhere behind the wall! These are not the big old outdoor American cockroach that sometimes get in from underneath the house, and is big and easy to kill..... NO, these are the German kind that proliferate behind the walls, run fast, and could come out from anywhere at anytime!" I couldn't relax ( probably because I hate cockroaches) and called the front desk to get another room, which of course they were willing to do. On my way out I noticed the carpet in the hallway was lifted in a line that ran the length of the hallway, like a long hump, which meant that it was probably the same carpet from all those years ago and why is it like that (?) stretched out or something. Then while waiting for the elevator I noticed part of the blind to the window was broken. By the time I got downstairs I felt so grossed out by all the disrepair and the cockroach that I decided to just get a refund and go stay elsewhere. The poor clerk was sorry and seemed to understand in a way that said, "yeah things have really gone downhill here and no one is doing anything about it." In retrospect, considering that this place now seems to be priced on the lower end for Silicon Valley it starts to look like "you get what you pay for," even though over $100 a night seems like it's on the higher end, but I guess that's not anymore. Welcome to the 2020's.
