First, I had to smile as I walked inside. For Disneyland enthusiastics, it kinda reminds you of The Haunted Mansion...in a good way. The hotel and our room was neat and clean. There was a daily later-morning breakfast set out in the lobby area. Front Desk staff were courteous and aimed to please. Our first night we happened to have the only room where the t.v. did not work. It was repaired the next day. The downfall was in communication with Housekeeping. We did not get fresh towels or the room 'serviced' (empty trash, make bed, straighten bathroom, fresh towels...) for 3 of the 4 days we were there, though it wasn't for not trying on our part. The hotel did comp us one night's stay for our troubles. The hotel's location is close to San Jose Airport, Highway 17/880 and great restaurants at The Pruneyard.

If you are into chandeliers, this is the place for you! It is conveniently located, and only 10 minutes to San Jose and a lot less expensive than the San Jose hotels. The rooms are large, the air conditioner is quiet. The room was very clean, and the grout and caulking in the bathroom look like it had been installed yesterday. The breakfast is average, but clearly a step up from the breakfast at the hotel chains. I definitely recommend this place if you are around the Los Gatos, or San Jose area.

Slightly better than average. Over the top decor. I got some laughs posting the anatomically correct “Greek sculptures” online. Good breakfast on real plates not plastic! Clean room. No gym. A nice break from the chains. Labeled Best Western but didn’t feel like it.

My business partner and I spent the night of December 10 at the Bristol Hotel. Prior to our arrival, a one night reservation was made for a "Deluxe 2 Beds Accessible room. When we arrived in the room we found the room had one king bed. The desk attendant insisted the booking was for a 'king, non-smoking room'. When he brought a roller bed to the room and I showed him a printed copy of the reservation, he told me "You can speak to the manager in the morning". Plus, the roller bed mattress was exceptionally thin, soft and uncomfortable, even by typical roller bed standards. It's time for a replacement mattress and it's time for a new night desk clerk. A cordial email bringing this lapse to the attention of the hotel was sent the morning of December 13. As of today, there has been no reply.

I am a frequent business traveler and ended up at this hotel - and not a national chain - as I was trying to manage my expenses. While the hotel is not at all glamorous - any illusion of it being either a boutique or cost effective disappeared when I was told that there was a soiled towel in my room that the hotel 'had to throw out' and I was charged an additional $100! To be clear, there was a facecloth that was dirty - NOTHING that a simple washing in any kind of laundry would not restore it to its former 'glory'. Frankly, the towels and linens in this hotel are of poor quality - and one should be able to outfit the entire floor for $100. While I fully intend to fit this specious charge - it is a hassle and something I would not need to do at any reputable hotel. Also, the wifi in the hotel is very poor - hard to do any kind of business here. NEVER again!
