Detailed Reviews
My husband, kids, and I stayed here for a quick one night getaway, what a find! The home is beautiful and the two rooms we had were perfect, with a Jack and Jill bathroom separating them. Mike and Fran were so hospitable, with a nice happy hour on the deck, and amazing homemade cookies. They were even kind enough to let our kids feed their koi fish while we were all outside talking. In the morning breakfast was amazing, just ask my 8 year old who cleaned his plate. To be honest, I am not sure who enjoyed the stay more, my husband and myself or the kids. We will definitely come back, kids or no kids

North Canyon Inn is a honeymooner's paradise! We got married at a venue just a few minutes away and not only was the location convenient, but the Inn itself was so dreamy, intimate, and special. The rooms are clean and gorgeous with newly remodeled showers! The best part for my husband and I was waking up to the most delicious breakfast - an Apple Hill crumble and savory quiche - that hangover cure worked like a charm. Thank you again to Mike and Fran!

This is our favorite place to stay when we come to Apple Hill every fall! Fran & Mike have created a beautiful, relaxing, comfortable retreat! The accommodations are spacious and homey. They have the perfect treasure nestled in the woods! They are located in a great spot close to the local farms, wineries, breweries, and restaurants. We have been there as a couple and a s a family! Fran makes an amazing breakfast each morning! This is a great place to come even just to disconnect from the world! There are no TV's in the rooms which we love! There is a TV in the family room,; but I highly suggest you never turn it on! We are proud to say that Fran & Mike have now become our friends and we just love them! We would absolutely recommend North Canyon Inn Bed & Breakfast for your stay! We will be back again next year for the 6th time! Jodi & Keith Gardnerville, Nevada

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at North Canyon Inn. We stayed for four nights in the Big Maple room. The innkeepers, Fran and Mike, are meticulous hosts who take great pride in creating a welcoming environment for their guests. The bed was extremely comfortable as well as supportive, allowing us to sleep deeply and awake refreshed and ready to explore the area. Getting ready was easy in the huge bathroom with gorgeous tile and granite. Every morning we looked forward to one of Fran's savory breakfasts which were delicious and well as nutritious, and when I notified her ahead of time about my gluten allergy, she graciously modified my meals! Mike keeps the inn in impeccable order inside and out with everything appearing to be brand new. In the late afternoon we enjoyed sitting on their lovely, enclosed patio for a wine happy hour which offers guests a relaxing way to wind down the day, talking with the hosts and other guests about places to explore in Apple Hill and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!!

My husband, myself and our friends hit the jackpot when we reserved 2 nights at North Canyon Inn. Mike and Fran were absolutely delightful and added so much to our first time stay in Placerville. Mike went out of his way to make maps for us so we wouldn't get lost and they were both just so fun and interesting to talk to.
Each room is so cozy and beautifully decorated but now we are partial to the Bigleaf Maple Room...the pillows and bed were the ultimate, we slept like royalty.
The gourmet breakfasts were 5 star and such a great start to our days...gorgeous frittatas, scones, homemade apple sauce, really great coffee and more...not to mention a fantastic selection of wine for our Happy Hour. Thank you Mike and Fran!

We highly recommend Fran and Mike's cute B&B in Apple Hill! They have put thought into every detail and you can tell they really care about the guest experience. From the clean, comfortable rooms and local recommendations to the complimentary wine and delicious full breakfast, everything was top notch!

I almost don't want to make this public as the Inn books quickly -- for good reason. But Mike and Fran were amazing hosts and the breakfasts were out of this world. Wine in the evening poured freely. The setting in the fall is magical. Wish we could have stayed longer. Until next time!

+1
We stayed at the North Canyon weekend during the Apple Hill fall festivities. It's a great new B & B and the owners, Mike and Fran are extremely nice and accommodating. The rooms are big, the bed is super comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. They serve huge breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and explored the area for 2 days, visiting close by wineries and the brewery which is about 2-3 miles away and tons of local crafts, farmers and local delicacies. Try the made to order hot apple cider donuts from Rainbow Orchards.

My husband I planned a quick weekend getaway for our anniversary. The location is so close to the Apple Hill farms! Loved the quaint house and the owners Fran and Mike. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch chatting with them and the other guests over wine and a delicious apple crisp courtesy of Fran. The room was beautiful, bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was huge! We stayed in the Ponderosa Pine room. Breakfast was homemade by Fran...fantastic! Wished we could have stayed longer!

This was our second stay at North Canyon Inn and it was just as wonderful as our first visit! Mike and Fran warmly welcomed us back to their amazing bed and breakfast! We were so excited about the evening dessert and wine time and enjoying great conversation with our hosts and the other guests at the inn. And then of course, Fran's gourmet breakfasts were so delicious and kept us full all morning and even into the afternoon as we wandered around the Apple Hill area. We always enjoy some reading time out on the screened-in porch, relaxing and taking in the quiet of the surrounding forest. This time we stayed in the Big Leaf Maple room which is the largest room at the inn. It was very luxurious with a king bed and a spa-like bathroom, including a large spa tub and double vanities. Just fantastic! Also, Mike and Fran have lived in the Apple Hill area for a while and their local knowledge comes in handy for recommendations of wineries, farms, and other places to visit.
Don't look anywhere else. If you want a special place to stay in the Apple Hill area, this is the BEST place around!
