The Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa is an epic ode to the Great American Road Trip of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, and the spirit of exploration it evokes. Whether it's backroad wine country or a relaxing mineral bath, our backyard can be your backyard, and it's anything but ordinary. Framed by vineyards and bike trails, our stylish Mid-Century Modern digs are the perfect foundation for those looking to find their next great adventure from the perfect home base. Perfectly placed at the head of the Silverado Trail, in the heart of Californias scenic wine region, the Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa features 50 rooms and suites, two Mineral Water Pools and a Mineral Water Hot Tub, and a Full Service Spa. We at the Calistoga Motor Lodge believe that a hotel is more than a bed and that life is best lived in this order: play, soak, eat, drink, spa, explore, sleep, repeat. And with this in mind, we set-out to create something that Wine Country has never seen. Welcome to our little, laid-back home, we we embrace color in spades and you can be you. After a leisurely bike ride to one of the dozens of nearby vineyards, soak up the sun and relax in our three on-site hot spring mineral water pools, perhaps with a glass of wine from one of the bottles you purchased along during the day. As the sun climbs high, hike or bike the adjacent Oat Hill Mine Trail where breathtaking views of the Valley are around every corner. Then, pamper yourself at our MoonAcre Spa and Baths. Our mission: to serve up bliss with a dose of whimsy and relaxation without the fuss. Because after all, there’s very little that laughter and a nice rub won’t cure. The hotel is located just 40 scenic minutes north of the City of Napa and 75 scenic miles from San Francisco.

We did a quick 1 night girls getaway and stayed at the Calistoga Motor Lodge. We loved everything about it. Our room was really cute, the staff was very friendly, the pool was nice and relaxing and the bikes were a fun addition. We will definitely be coming back!

Hotel's Favorite
we loved staying at the Lodge. Very hippie, bohemian feel with an amazing pool area. We had the camper room which was great for our 3 person family, We had a kind bed, with an extra room with a table which converted into a bed. The 3 different temperature mineral pools were great. The pool had lounge beds or cabanas to hang out. They offer bikes to ride into town which is approx 5 minutes to restaurants and coffee shops. Overall, Calistago is a great little town.

This is a great little property. It's the furthest out of the downtown-adjacent hotels, but still easily walkable into down. There are also bikes which can be easily procured although they need a little repair - we had to swap one out before we got a fully functional one. The property just opened a new restaurant which looks lovely. Due to the pandemic, we did not get a chance to check out the spa, sadly. The pools are open though, with an appropriately socially distanced seating arrangement. The adult swim hours are a nice touch for those who want to avoid the noise of children at play. In this environment, it was nice to indulge in a motor lodge concept where you can walk right up to your room rather than a traditional hotel or B&B where you have to step inside and traverse through common space to get to your room. We stayed in a king room in the second floor area above the restaurant. It was a good value and there were nice touches. I left feeling like I got exactly the kind of R&R I was craving. I would definitely recommend the property to others and stay here again myself.

We had a wonderful getaway and felt safe and comfortable. The kids had a blast in the pool and we got to try out to the pizza from the new restaurant. It felt easy to maintain a safe distance from people and we had lots of space to roam around and explorer. The new Vista Rooms are amazing and we all slept great in the comfortable beds. Thank you!

This motor lodge is retro, cool, and very comfortable. All procedures and safety measures are being taken to ensure the safety and health of guests and staff. The beds, linens, and towels were very soft and of excellent quality. The only bummer is that because of all the fires going on everywhere (seemingly) in California, the sky was gray with smoke. There are lots of little extras which show the attention to detail. Water in the fridge and snacks were complimentary. We also received vouchers for the cute coffee shop in town for coffee or tea, and a breakfast item. My husband picked breakfast up and we ate in our room. There was a bocce ball court by our room, the pools have tons of seating areas and loungers, and there are bikes available to tour around on. Next time we go back, we will use the bikes (the air quality was just too bad). What I appreciated most was that they fulfilled my request to have my mom's ADA room next to our room. Their restaurant looks to be almost done, so that will also be a great addition.
