Travelers' Choice
The Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa located just 40 scenic minutes north of the City of Napa and 75 scenic miles from San Francisco is an epic ode to the Great American Road Trip of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, and the spirit of exploration it evokes. Whether it's backroad wine country or a relaxing mineral bath, it's anything but ordinary. Framed by vineyards and bike trails, our stylish Mid-Century Modern digs are the perfect foundation for those looking to find their next great adventure from the perfect home base. Perfectly placed at the head of the Silverado Trail, in the heart of California's scenic wine region, the Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa features 51 camper guest rooms and 12 vista guest rooms, two mineral pools, mineral hot tub, a full service Spa and restaurant. We at the Calistoga Motor Lodge believe that a hotel is more than a bed and that life is best lived in this order: play, soak, eat, drink, spa, explore, sleep, repeat. With this in mind, we set-out to create an experience that will make you want to return again and again. A leisurely bike ride to one of the dozens of nearby vineyards, a lazy day in the sun at the pool, a long soak with a glass of local wine in our hot spring mineral pools, or an overdue massage at our MoonAcre Spa and Baths, followed by a relaxing dinner at Fleetwood. Our mission: to serve up bliss with a dose of whimsy and relaxation without the fuss.

I loved staying here! Everything was amazing- from the welcoming glass of frose, bikes, pools, and rooms were perfect! Can’t wait to go back! It was rainy the time we were there but having the warm pools to relax in were the perfect way to end a day of wine tasting

We did a quick getaway to Calistoga for its hot spring. Given it's so last-minute, we just booked a motel/inn for the night. The room was spacious but certainly lack of sound proofing. The thermal pool was nice but a bit crowded and cold as the sun sets. I initially wanted to get a spa treatment but there was no one at the spa house when I went in. I waited for a good 10 mins and decided to just go. If we come back to Calistoga again in the future, I'll check out other lodge options.

Hi sukichao, Thank you for staying with us for your quick trip to Calistoga. We are sorry to hear that your stay with us was anything but exceptional. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our spa is closed Tuesday & Wednesday so if you were visiting those days, that might be why it was empty. We do hope you'll come back again.

Definitely from the 1950’s, including the mattress and room size. Looked old, smelled old and to welcome me to my room - huge long hairball floating in the toilet. Not a fan of this place although it is close to wineries, but location is t everything.

I loved staying at your motel for our long weekend. It's nice to stay in a place that has some personality, some uniqueness! Thoroughly enjoyed the amusing armadillo, art piece on our hotel room wall. Hilarious. Much better than a taxidermy deer head on the wall, which I never enjoy finding at a place. Your treatment was much better :-) I was grateful for the reusable path water bottles provided. Big points for sustainability. Loved the pour over coffee set up. Bed was comfy. Bedding was nice and clean. Happy to have robes. Staff was five-star every single time I talked with anyone. Appreciated your mix of automated SMS and personal SMS. Very convenient to be able to text the front desk. Very much enjoyed the irreverent photo book, 50's style, maps and signage, and overall design sense and branding. Meant to go for a bike ride, didn't do it, but I'll totally do so on my next visit. The location was great because having 5 - 10 minute walk to town got me moving and was just generally enjoyable.

We had a great weekend here! The beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and had free water and small snacks! The pools were so nice and warm and the hot tub was fantastic! The restaurant on-site ( Fleetwood) had the BEST dinners! We also enjoyed our massages at the spa! Great location and close to downtown, too.

We had a horrendous experience staying here. Nothing like the photos. Depressing, ugly and OVER-PRICED. The property is badly maintained and the pool entrance reads "NO DIARRHEA". Need we say more? In the room: the kettle is tiny, old and dirty. The cable is so short that we had to plug it away from the counter where coffee and tea was. An overall feeling of coldness and a property in need of TLC. Never again. Would not recommend. Paper thin walls, could hear everything next door.

Our weekend at Calistoga Motor Lodge was amazing! The room was really big and decorated really well with a huge balcony and the beds were super comfortable. The small touches like snacks and reusable waters added a great touch. We enjoyed the pools, and having a more shallow pool for kids was great! From Bocce Ball to s'mores by the fire pit, we had everything we needed on site. We were there to celebrate my niece's birthday and the staff made our stay special for her the entire time. The restaurant on site was delicious with great cocktails. All in all it was a great stay and I can't wait to go back!!

This was by far the most expensive place I've ever stayed in, but also the least expensive place in Calistoga for the dates I wanted. The room I'd booked was an ADA room, the only single available. There was no closet, overhead fluorescent light, half of the room was the bathroom/shower area (convenient for wheelchairs). I was upgraded when I complained, at no extra charge, this from an employee whom I didn't see again and the only helpful, outgoing person I interacted with. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet, but the shower was odd. A step-down into something that seemed like it could be used as a bathtub, yet not. There was no commode for clothing. There was no flatware nor tea and the coffee provided, while very good, was in plastic packages that were frustratingly difficult to open. I had to tear them open with the corkscrew. The pools were wonderful as was all of the surrounding settees and cabana-like seating. I found the desk help unfriendly and even dismissive. In short, I wouldn't stay here again.
