When in Calestoga you must stay at Dr Wilkersons Resort. The place is extremely quaint and has an incredible vibe. The rooms are truly retro and the staff is wonderfully accommodating. Jose in particular really went out of his way to make our stay a most enjoyable. He was everywhere, a true professional. We will be back hopefully sooner than later…a great time had by all.
I am wrapping up an all-too-brief 24 hour vacation in Calistoga at Dr. Wilkinson‘s. It started with an exceptional massage, the best I’ve had in years. Continued through a lovely afternoon spent alongside the mineral pools. Great snacks from the bar. A late night plunge in the thermal pool and some time by the fire pit. A great night’s sleep in a really well-appointed room, waking to in-room Vietnamese coffee. In this short period of time, I have felt exceptionally well-cared for through both the exceptional, warm service and the overall restful ambience. We will be back here for another getaway in the coming months!
We read about the renovation and decided to drive up for the day/night and check out the new and improved Dr. Wilkinsons. They did an excellent job on giving the property and much needed facelift. Here's my assessment: PRO: + We stayed in the Artist's Cottage facing Lincoln Street. Very private and quiet but there was some road noise at night. There is a storage room connected to this room and you can hear staff going in and out. The bathroom was cute but had limited space at the sink. There was room for a small table facing the toilet which would have been helpful for more counter space. + Very fast and friendly check-in at the front desk. Got a free bag of bath salts when we left - nice touch! + Very nice quality towels in the bathroom. + Good quality…
My friend and I had a fantastic time at the newly renovated Dr. Wilkinson’s resort. We were looking for a place to spend the day by the pool, and this hotel did not disappoint! The pools were lovely and warm and not too crowded. The lounge chairs were very “loungey”, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. We loved all of the decor choices at the hotel and in the room. Didn’t get to try the restaurant (they still had limited hours when we visited), but it looked fun. My only criticism is that the sound proofing isn’t great, so if you are a light sleeper, getting a room on the upper level is probably a better idea. But overall, loved the hotel and can’t wait to return!
We had a snag with our room upon check in, but the staff took good care of us. The pools were wonderful, rooms updated with nice touches like waters, essential oils to diffuse and more. I've stayed at a few other Calistoga Hotels over the years and with the updates, this property is on my list now.
