I clearly have not spent enough time in Calistoga on past trips to Napa Valley. Solage is beautiful and a perfect spot to recharge. I will absolutely return, but next time I'm giving myself more time to just enjoy the property!
It was a long weekend escape with my feancee. Everithing was amazing and perfect, the people in these hotel knows excatly how to make you feel special. The hotel is beautiful close to many Wineries and also it has a lot of activities to stay in the property.
Solage is a beautiful property but we expected more. The rooms aren't fancy nor large but are nice, simple and comfortable. I would recommend not staying near the busy road as it was noisy during the night. The pools and restaurants are pretty and bocce was fun. The bikes are a fun convenience and they have a partnership with Mercedes to borrow 4 different models. Wine was offered at check-in and the amenities are nice. However, while the service was very friendly, it was inconsistent: turndown service didn't remove room service plates, we called for a ride twice and they didn't come, the food wasn't as advertised (kale caesar was romaine, spicy shrimp was sweet). These are small things but when you are paying such a price, it made the experience less special.
Solage Calistoga is a beautiful hotel with excellent amenities. The Solbar restaurant has delicious food. The customer service is excellent. There are complimentary fitness classes - yoga and Pilates. This was our 2nd visit and we will be returning again.
My entire family loves this resort! Like a fine wine, it gets better with time. Every aspect of our stay was exceptional - we will be back again and again. Most importantly, I would like to thank the entire staff for working over the Christmas holiday and making our holiday experience unforgettable. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
even in midwinter, and over Christmas, Solage was an amazing place to get away to and enjoy gourmet cuisine, fabulous massage, pool time and pilates, as well as exploring local experiences. The staff were delightful and everything worked and happened as we had hoped.
This used to be our favorite place to vacation in Napa Valley. We've been coming here for 10 years, multiple times a year, and recommend the resort regularly to friends. We came back this weekend after being away for 3 years and have been utterly disappointed with property and the service. This experience missed the mark entirely. FIRST IMPRESSION: The resort was at low occupancy, yet we were placed in one of the most remote rooms during an atmosoheric river storm. The bellman said we could call to get a ride when needed. We ended up walking or using our car to get to and from the facilities. We had no umbrellas in the room even though rain was 100% predicted. SERVICE ISSUES: NIGHT 1: At 910pm, we went to Solbar hoping to get dessert. We were told the kitchen was closing, so we left and went back to our room, only to find housekeeping there for turndown. When we complained, they stated that they would comp dessert at dinner the next evening, which didn't happen. DAY 1: At breakfast, the manager sent over donuts "on the house" but charged us for them on the bill and forced us to ask to take it off. NIGHT 2: Housekeeping skipped turndown entirely and left a card saying we were requesting privacy which wasn't the case. On the positive side, dinner at Solbar is amazing, as was the sommolier.…
Stayed recently and enjoyed the tranquil, beautiful surroundings. All staff were friendly, extra-helpful and attentive. Picobar's food is excellent, and as we are celiac, we really appreciated the gluten free options.
Our first trip to Solage in Calistoga was perfect. The staff was welcoming, kind and attentive (yet not overly so where it gets intrusive); the design elements are tasteful and very well done; meals were delicious and the setting perfect -- outside of the usual Napa Valley hustle but close enough to special places. Our Fireside Garden Terrace bungalow was spacious and wonderfully relaxing and calm. As you surmised, we will most definitely return and hopefully very soon.
Service was excellent from all we encountered, Resort was beautiful, and the food was excellent! Definitely a must to stay and visit. Located about 2 minutes away from downtown and 10 minutes from St. Helena.
