We have stayed here maybe 5 times over the years, and always had a pleasant experience. The beds are comfy and the fully equipped kitchenette is super convenient for cooking for kids and during Covid. It’s a short walk to grocery store and Calistoga’s main street. There is also free Tesla EV charging. I didn’t use the gym but my wife said it was very good. The bathroom is basic. Unfortunately the resort has gotten a lot more expensive than ten years ago. For weekends and holiday times, it may be hard to find a room for under $350.
One of my favorite weekend away destinations. I thought we'd spend most of our time checking out vineyards and exploring the surrounding area. We loved the hot springs at the hotel so much that we stayed there a lot more than we thought we would. We also loved walking to all the restaurants nearby. Sam's Social Club down the street was our favorite! The hotel was lovely! The room had a kitchenette and a spacious bathroom. After spending a weekend enjoying the spa and relaxing in our white spa robes, we went home relaxed. Can't wait for our next visit!
This is the second year in a row we stayed here over Thanksgiving and had another wonderful stay. This place is wonderful, mixing prime location, comfortable accommodations and a variety of hot mineral pools. Perfect for families as there is a kitchenette in every room, bbq and out door setting for picnics. The staff were lovely and very accommodating when we needed more towels ect. The grounds were well taken care of and clean. Now that COVID has lifted a bit the Spa and Gym are open and a great addition to the experience. Hope to be back next year. This area is gorgeous doing the fall.
This town and the hotel is one of our most liked places in California. We like it so much that we have been planning our 50th anniversary with family members there. My wife and I will visit this perfect get-away again next month. A short walk from the hotel is the Calistoga Roastery where great coffee and local gossip are found. If you go there are very good restaurants up and down the Main Street. The hotel has three pools of various temperatures to enjoy. Small kitchenettes are in each room. Spa amenities are also on the grounds.
I have been going to Calistoga Roman spa and staying at their lovely quaint hotel for over 30 years now.. I love going in the Spring because the the grounds have beautiful beautiful tulips and daffodils and everything is kept so pristine. The pools are fed with The Hot Springs water that Calistoga is famous for. One outdoor pool 1 indoor pool and a great hot tub. Not the place take children because everything is very quiet and people are very respectful of the quality relaxation time. I usually get the room that has the full kitchen so I bring up food for breakfast and lunch and we walk into town for dinner which is one block away. Great restaurants in town and a little shopping to help the local economy is always fun. If you need vacation to soak in Hot Springs, relax, read a book, drink some wine and sleep in their lovely beds this is the place for you.…
My husband and I have been visiting Calistoga Hot Springs for over a decade, typically a few times each year. It is such a low key, relaxing, cozy, and nourishing experience, even in December. The rooms are pefect - high ceilings, comfortable bed, great shower, and a fully equipped kitchen that we use every day. The location is so great - easy walk to great restaurants, great coffee, great walks, and a great market. And as an added bonus the hot spring pools are open until 10:00 PM for relaxing evening soak and sit by the fire. what more could you want from a vacation?
Came here for the first time, taking advantage of a pay for 2 stay 3 nights special. Grounds, pool area & our 2 king rooms very clean & well maintained. Decor utilitarian modern, kitchenettes equipped with plates, utensils 2 of each ) , a couple of cooking utensils & pots, coffeemaker, microwave, 2 burner electric stovetop, mini fridge, rollout table & stools. Coffee, sugar, creamer, S&P. Rooms fairly spacious, nice bathrooms, showers with shower heads at both sides easily fit two. Our bed was comfy. Wi-Fi fine. All rooms open to outside, & check in at a lobby window so many guests chose not to wear masks. Staff were all masked, were friendly & promptly delivered robes, more coffee when requested. Currently room cleaning only after check out, spa & fitness rooms closed due to COVID. All rooms face the pool courtyard. Stairs, no elevator to second floor rooms, none of which have much of a view. Hotel is 1 block from town center, including Cal Mart for groceries or deli, 1/2 block to Ace hardware if you want barbecue supplies. But the main attraction are the pools. A bathtub temperature kiddie pool with a waterfall down a rock wall ( I never saw more than 3 kids. Adults also stretched out in the shallow water. ) There are a 6 lap lane plus wading side pool kept at near 80”, a 5’ deep 100” wading/swim pool ( my fav ) & a gazebo covered adults only walk in jacuzzi with 12 jets, seating for more. Even at the busiest hours, there were plenty of towels, seating or lounges, plenty of umbrellas or other shade. The pool area has palms, grape vines, olive trees, carpet roses & other plantings & the dominant sound is from a fountain at the entrance. The courtyard outside the pool area has more planting, tables & barbecues. There are wall benches outside every room. Plenty of free parking. This is not the place for rose petals on the bed, room service luxury. It is for couples or families who come to Calistoga for some relaxing soaking & swimming. You can cook/ eat in or outside your room or walk 1-2 blocks to several restaurants.…
We head Up Valley monthly and stay at the Calistoga Spa Hot Springs for a night or two. The staff are mostly behind the scenes and everything is always clean and well maintained. The water is incredible and looking forward to another massage, soon.
Wonderful relaxing 3 days! Enjoyed the warm pool, exceptional food, cozy room with private patio or out another door you can set by the fire on a large shared area. Not too crowded (January) but we had perfect weather, (60’s) and people were walking around in their robes.
My family and I have gone to three of the hot springs resorts up in Calistoga, and Calistoga Spa remains our favorite. The grills and the in-room kitchens make it easy to travel with picky kids. The different temperature pools are wonderful for making everybody in the family happy. The staff is very kind, and I appreciate seeing community members who belong to the gym use the pools everyday. It doesn't feel as elitist as some of the other spots in town. Will definitely be back year after year.
