The room had a big, beautiful, tiled shower with lots of water pressure. They provided a soap/shampoo dispensers with Algan Oil soaps. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Everything worked well. The room had a large TV. They provided a hot breakfast and well-appointed breakfast selection.

What a lovely oasis in the midst of Death Valley 🏜! We left Southern Arizona Sunday morning on our way home to Oregon. We were looking for a Best Western that was close to the 395 and opted to stay here-glad we did. We were greeted at the front desk by the lovely Dana, (rhymes with banana 🍌😉); she got us checked in quickly and was very pleasant & knowledgeable about the area. She recommended a place to eat that was bomb 💣! We got checked into to an Uber-spacious & comfortable room on the 1st floor per our request. The beds were comfortable & all amenities provided however, the shower/tub was shot-and I mean shot. I had been looking forward to a nice hot bath but one look at the the tub 🛀 and no way. As well as the tub faux pas (sp?), the fridge was cattywompus & moved all over inside the cupboard every time we tried to open it. We 5-starred this place strictly on staff interaction: Everyone working both day and night was wonderful. We would stay here again just hope the bath area & the fridge are better in the next room we stay in on our way back through. Happy Trails!…

Best Western Hotels are the best. Great locations. Always very clean and the most comfortable beds anywhere. Affordable pricing. Great breakfast and they have vending machines for snacking. Staff is alway exceptionally polite and helpful.

At check in, I had some specific wants and desires. Not knowing that I was talking to the general manager, I asked to see a couple of different room types. She politely accommodated my request and showed me room so that I could pick the best option to enhance my visit. The next morning at check out, I thanked her and that was when I discovered she was the GM. She is an absolute credit to her property and to Best Western.

We had the best experience at this hotel, and most of what made it so great was Jasper who helped us with our stay. He was super friendly, informative, and accommodating! Started off great at the check-in desk. Clerk was nice, and friendly, room was a bit expensive for an older hotel, but I do believe its the only hotel in town. When we went up to our room, we could tell the age of the place. Our room seemed aged, but clean. Bed was pretty uncomfortable and they have these half size pillows to sleep with. Strange and uncomfortable. Air conditioner was making strange noises, or at lease we think that the noise was coming from it...but light noises of something in the room. Internet was down the attire time while we were there. I had to make them aware of the problem by going down to the desk to tell them I could not sign in, clerk then realized something was wrong. Ice machine on floor 2 had tiny bits of black frozen into the cubes..not in every cube but we pulled out several cubes from our collection-Was already upset with the internet that I just was giving up on thinking positive about this place, wishing I went a bit further to check in to another town. Bathroom- no space for makeup bag, shower only -no tub. Lighting in the bathroom and room very dim This was an overcharged King size room. being something during the week should be half the price. Did not eat at the free breakfast only had their coffee. They gave me a $10 credit for the internet not working. Staff at desk all were nice. Housekeeping looked exhausted. Now the best thing about our stay was our dinner out at Gloria's Mexican Food...REALLY good food, clean place, don't be fooled about the outside. Margaritas where great too. Desk clerk was right on about the best place to eat. California City is a very small town. Would I stay here again...no! I travel a lot and think the price of the rooms were way to high for what you get, but if you are the only place in town, they can get away with it. …

Clean hotel, breakfast included was amazing. Front desk needs to be trained, told us we could not check in early, unless we paid a $50 early check in fee.....even though we explained we were there for the funeral of the past mayor and she knew him. Company policy!

If I had a choice, I would have chose another option. I stayed in a room with a Jacuzzi bathtub where the drain was broken. In California City California there are not many options. The breakfast bar was at a very low quality as if the food was purchased from the locol Dollar General store. It seems that it was very easy for this hotel to do better, but probably because of where it's located, they could seem to care less anything. So I guess that's why they purchased the cheapest quality food as if to say, something is better than nothing, I would say to them that they are mistaken. Overall, it's not worth the money you pay to stay almost $200 a night for a D rated hotel in my opinion.

Only game in town. Slowly deteriorating over the years. Lack of competition may have allowed management to slack off on standards and concentrate on profitability. If alternative locations can be considered in other locations, it may be to your advantage.
